  1. Hehehe...I'm a hopeless Depeche Mode fan and "Enjoy the Silence" is my favorite song of theirs, however, it's not the one I would like to hear Mika cover. I think the song "Just can't get Enough" would sound great performed by Mika. It sounds great live in concert, but with Mika's special touch, I think it would sound awesome. Besides, even people who don't like DM know this song and anyone can participate in it, it's not hard: "I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough..." Oh, and I don't know if this was mentioned or not, but during the Montreal show last January, he covered part (not all ) of Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back", my friend went wild when she heard it...
  2. That's the main problem of the Internet I think. Everybody's a critic on it. Thing is, not everybody knows how to be a critic. There is a way to express your views and how you feel about an artist without having to bash him or her. That being said, I'm not surprised. The morning after the Mika show in Montreal, at a show called "Salut Bonjour", the critic who attended the concert didn't like it and didn't have that many nice comments regarding Mika either. Still, even if I think he was totally wrong on some manners, he did say something that is actually intelligent: "Mika is a artist who's music you either love, or you hate." It's as simple as that. Even if I have to say that I'm a little annoyed when people don't like the same things I do, as long as they don't bash my beloved artist and respect my views and feelings, than, that's fine.
  3. Ok, I haven't look at all the posts because this thread is looooong....we ladies like our men now don't we. My heart beats for Dave Gahan , lead signer of "Depeche Mode". Ever since I saw him shake his ass on the "Devotional" tour three years ago, I have been a bonified "Dave-Slave" as we like to call ourselves. (Recent press pictures of his new solo album "Hourglass") And my favorite pictures of him to look at, concert pics! Let it be said though, that I don't love the man simply for his looks. He's also my hero. This is man who destroyed himself, relationships and came close to dying because of drug abuse, yet, he was still able to bring himself back from the pits of despair and now leads a happy, healthy life. If somebody can summon that amount of courage, than truly, nothing is impossible. Oh, and he's also my favorite signer (sorry Mika), I adore his voice.
  4. They're brown for sure. Now, if they're hazel or whatnot, I don't know. I have brown eyes myself and when the light hits them in different angles, they appear lighter or darker, sometimes, even a little reddish. Since a stage is lit from many different angles and with many different types of lighting, I think it's only natural that his eyes appear to be different colors during different shots on the dvd. Speaking of which, I should get it myself...
  5. Being a big girl myself, I'm was delighted when I saw the big girls come out on stage during the concert in Montreal. It's so refreshing to see curvy women shake their booty for a change.
  6. Lol. I love threads like this. "Lollipop" "I've gone identity mad!"
  7. Actually that's not very surprising. Even the people that didn't attend the concert heard about it and probably bought the album, so it was great publicity. I ended up buying a copy of the album after the show so I'm pretty sure other people did the same thing.
  8. Wow! Such a warm welcome, thank you all! I didn't think I was going to get so many replies. I'm still listening to Mika, it's been a week to this day that I got fired...I'm finally starting to get back on my feet. I really like two songs right now that I associate to my situation: #1- "Any Other World" -Reason: I was a real shocker when my boss told me I was fired...My world came crashing down on me because I didn't except it at all....so to me it was like: "Say goodbye, to the world you thought you lived in..." #2-"My Interpretation" -Reason: I know the CEO of the company is the one who forced my former boss (head of the marketing department) to fire me. The CEO's a greedy jerk and truth be told, I was never comfortable around him sooo...: "I don't care if I ever talk to you again!!!" Oh, and Depeche Mode isn't over yet! I was pretty sure there last tour (Touring the Angel 2005/2006) was going to be their last. However rumors (that have almost been confirmed) are swimming around the Internet that they should get back in the studio in 2008, new album late 2008 and new tour on 2009. All that's left is for Mika to come back to Montreal and life will be good.
  9. http://www.contactmusic.com/photos.n...06_wenn1464550 I love that one! With the bubbles swirling all over him it looks so magical!
  10. Lol. Seeing those pictures of him shirtless reminded me of the concert in Montreal a little over a week ago. For those of you who saw my intro thread, remember, I wasn't a big fan of Mika before seeing him in concert...so I didn't know he had so many good...assets... When he took off his shirt, I turned to my friend and went: "DAMN!!! I didn't know he was so H-O-T!" It was just a very VERY nice surprise.
  11. I liked them too. It's just a shame that they were the second opening act...The first one was dull and drained the energy out of me so I didn't react much to creature. As much as I loved the Mtl gig...Mika took over 2 hours before appearing on stage...that was a bit of a letdown ...at least he made up for it with his performance, it was awesome. I became a Mika fan on that very night.
  12. (WARNING: The following introduction may be long, reader discretion is advised) I just like to talk about myself...is that wrong? Greetings! My name is Valerie, I'm 25 years old and live in Granby, a small town in the province of Quebec, in Canada (in case you're wondering, yup, I'm a French Canadian). I have to be honest, when I first heard Mika, I didn't like him. In the summer of 2006, they played "Grace Kelly" waaaayyy too much on the radio, to the point where I got sick and tired of hearing it. However, I did download (legally I payed for the mp3s) his album because I liked his other single "Love Today". I listened to the album a couple of times, discovered I like it and that was about it. However, everything changed on January 28th 2008, at the Bell Center in Montreal...when I saw him in concert. He was soooo cooool, and fun, and sweet, he totally charmed me...I bought his album and have been listening to it every day since then. I got fired from my job recently and I'm a mess so his upbeat songs and positive lyrics are really helping me trough it right now. Other than Mika, I'm 100% Devotee (aka Depeche Mode fan) and I have seen them in concert twice (and hoping for a third time since they might tour again in 2009). I'm also a fan of the French band Indochine. I like pretty much any type of music except for rap, country and R&B. In my spare time, I read, go to the gym, play videogames and draw. I draw in anime/manga style because other than being a music fan, I'm an otaku (Japanese animation fan) meaning I own a lot of anime stuff, books, dvds, soundtracks and other. If you're ever interested, I have a deviantart page: http://electrastarx.deviantart.com/ So that's about it. I don't think I'll be the most active poster, but I'll stop by here every once in awhile.
