  1. Here's the link to this vid - my daughter, Cattie Gurl appears on screen when he sings "downright wh#r@"'! what a party!!! Patty
  2. That's so exciting! My daughter and I found the crowd in Toronto was pretty cool - we met some neat people as we made like sardines in the mosh pit  lol Quite different from my previous concert experiences as a teenager, and an old diehard fan of -wait for it- the BayCityRollers!
  3. Hello, Blue, so nice to meet you! My father emigrated from Holland to Canada way back in the fifties...I was born her in Canada. I have been to Holland a few times to visit, but not in the past 10 years or so. It would be amazing to visit again, and have it coincide with Mika's concert!!! (I bought lottery tickets:cheerful_h4h: lol) Patty
  4. Hi backatcha Wendi!! Just got done reading all that's happened since I was last online.....my hubby just dropped in for a minute from work and he is very curious about what I am up to on the computer! The building excitement is palpable for you lucky ones going to see Mika soon...is there something special planned for the MFC'ers? I finally was able to upload some video footage of the Toronto KoolHaus concert (new trick, old dog - lol) so will post the links shortly. Patty
  5. Mostly in Leeuwarden (my dad's older brothers have an underground cable business there), but also Amsterdam (a cousin had an apt. there) and some of the other towns around with tourist attractions mostly - like Workum and Makkum, Winsum (family there) Arnhem (Openluchtmuseum) Sneek, etc. Mind you, it's been ten years since we've been. Time for another visit! When will Mika have a concert in Holland?!?!
  6. And I must take daughter to vocal lesson! Gosh, time flies on here!!! TTYL
  7. Ah, I see ... I am also feeling that sort of maternal reaction of wanting to give him a hug and tell him that everything will be alright. I can understand that he may be feeling awkward and out of place - he looks so alone in this photo. Mika must have a pretty thick armour to survive the foray into the entertainment world, no doubt a survival tactic earned in his childhood.
  8. Is this photo since the Brit awards? Where can I find it?
  9. Absolutely .. I get that same feeling that he doesn't belong in awkward places like on that sofa being belittled by that creepy interviewer (?Chris) with the protruding belly. Mind you, Mika does manage to hold his own in these bizarre situations. Mika is in a different class altogether - he strikes me as intelligent and thoughtful, talented and fun-loving, kind and polite, all the while being pretty darn good looking and sexy too!!!
  10. I am also really disappointed by some of the comments/attitudes we are seeing today.....some people are so crass. Mika, however, has class! and we love him for it. Patty
  11. Hello "Oldings" and thanks to Wendi for the invite. I do qualify on all fronts - well over 30, much grey hair, lotsa aches and pains, and memory not what it used to be! Let's just say that my eldest son is 23...that would make me old enough to be Mika's mama, mind you a youngish one.....lol. Was introduced to Mika by my daughter, and absolutely had the time of our lives at the Toronto, Canada concert last month! Patty:wink2:
  12. Wasn't it an amazing show!!!! Pretty squishy up front with Alice and all, but well worth it!!
  13. Yes, it is a big cuddly bear, the special part is that CattieGurl personalized it with the gig info, quoted lyrics, etc. Turned out "brilliant" to quote Mika!
  14. Thanks for the welcome, Wendi...it's my daughter, Cattie Gurl, who turned me onto Mika. We were at his Dodgy Holiday Tour concert in Toronto, Canada on January 29th, and were absolutely blown away! Cattie Gurl worked very hard on a labour of love for Mika: Alice the Bear. Alice was caught by Mika as he was hoisted on stage at KoolHaus in Toronto. There's video footage !!! at I just love the delighted grin on his face! Patty
  15. I'll be two!!! I'm an experienced Registered Nurse - available anytime - just say the word, Mika!!! Congrats on your Brit award - You really are an amazingly talented singer, songwriter and performer! Love your music!!!
