HERE HERE MY GOOD CHAP I totally agree, and wish to thank them all AGAIN myself, I missed out on the fun q-ing and this time it WOULD have been fun cos of the weather etc (makes a big difference), but everything else I experienced was wonderful, everyone is so brill (see I'm all loved up, even BBVix had got back onto MFC after so long of not being able to get on) yeeey life is good.

 

now PLEASE PLEASE don't let tat secret gig be on or the week of Sept 22 cos I am away celebrating my 25th wedding annicersary and hubby wont be best pleased if I say I cant make it to that now will he lol

At least, compared to the TV coverage, the sound of your vid is genuine, even if the image is a bit 'enthusiastic' at times but you are always generous -filming and watching at the same time is no fun- and we are very grateful to you for sharing your most decadent moments with less lucky fans .

Gig over, we went to line up for a meet and greet. Twas really nice, everyone waited for their turn. No pics were allowed with him but he casually chatted with everyone and signed stuff. I told him how I was doing something for the MFC documentary so I asked him if he could say a quick 'The MFC are amazing' so he did.. Well in his words it was more of a 'The MFC are fierce!' then he said how he doesn't go on the MFC and I told him he was missing out then he was like 'no, I'm not' lol. Yeah right!

 

A MFCer commented upon his answer, saying it likely was another white lie. It definitely was a lie, of course -even if he doesn't often do it himself, he has quite a few spies who do it for him :bond: -. But 'white' ? There is nothing white about it, actually it's quite surprising in Sire's mouth , he usually is much more kind and polite than that.

It was probably a clumsy attempt at 'washing his hands' of what happens on the forums. Nice try, Your Majesty, but in the big bad real world, things are a bit more complicated .

I feel compelled to report that my four yr old and I are having an argument about the title of the song. She really likes the song and the video, but is insisting that it is called "Teenage Jean", cos that's what she hears at the beginning of the clip. I've tried to tell her that he's actually singing Teenage Dream at that point, and that the song is called We Are Golden, but she's incredibly stubborn on this point and I am apparently quite wrong.

I'm just gonna save my breath until she learns to read. Then she'll be able to see for herself:aah:

Because I still don't find it sexy at all. I think he's starved himself to acquire the typical teenage look: a too skinny boy, clumsy, who's probably grown too fast and who feels ugly, underestimated. I work with teenagers: with few exceptions, boys are normally ugly and not sexy at all, because they're changing fast. This is normal in Italy, maybe less normal in northern Europe, where teenagers are often beautiful. There can't be anything sexy for me in a teenager dancing freely in his bedroom.

And I still don't find it camp. (Oh why on earth did you use that word in the Observer interview, Sire? ) You say it's self affirming. Do you mean that Mika is himself in the video? I think MIKA is a persona, a character. I think MIKA is a very intelligent artist, who would never use a video to give a message only concerning Mika. Because this is what he's always stated he's been doing. His music is art and I think he doesn't want to use it to say something about himself in such an easy way. There are artists who see art as autobiography, but so far Mika has been denying doing that.

Art is creating something that will always tell people something interesting, because they can relate to that, because they can make it their own experience, because they can read it in a thousand different ways.

 

Mica is definitely playing a part in the vid, possibly the part of the unprepossessing adolescent he was 8-10 years ago but the character might be any male teenager. Or female one for that matter .

The only statement I can see there is that he was an adolescent once. Hardly likely to get him the Pulitzer price for journalism ...

Alright I recovered from the shock. I could only watch it through my fingers the first time round. And I thought it was very embarrassing. On top of everything the undies really looked like diapers at first.

Now having seen it on youtube in better quality, I must say it keeps growing on me. Not that I think of the moves and the outfit as less ridiculous now. But I can see His Royal Curliness has finally found himself and is at ease and freed from any restrictions due to what people might think or say.

I don't think this will gain him the mainstream following he didn't get so far. For that it's too much of a statement.

Ohh and I simply love the fact that there are fan gifts involved. Love it. I would have loved to inspect the set for all those crazy toys we only see for a split second.

His Royal Waxiness is doing what he does next best to music : flashing !

Miss the naked feet though, who knows, we might have glimpsed a few hairs on his silly toes .

His genitalia if you want specifics. I remember in one of the special features on my DVD of "A Knight's Tale" (and I can't remember if it was in a commentary or something else), where Paul Bettany is talking about being nude in one of the scenes and because he's walking and you see him from the rear, his genitalia was taped (to his leg I think) so it wouldn't flop around, and be accidentally visible. I wondered if Mika may do the same thing to prevent his genitalia flopping around and giving us precisely the screencaps that are cropping up now. But, it would appear not!

No, I meant : with my nose on the screen -and whether I am watching the WAG vid or any other one-, I can't see any 'thing' worth mentioning .

It can be pretty embarrassing, really, because a good friend of mine keeps sending me pics or vids of Sire where she sees a boner while I can't even see a chicken bone. Am I blind or am I more lucid than she is, that's a one-euro question .

Actually it's one of the numerous words from Latin that French share with English.

It describes a medical symptom but can be used figuratively.

There was a short TV show by the Monty Pythons called 'How to horripilate...' which gave lessons about how to get people's goats by being particularly obnoxious. Not that I've ever needed any lessons . I am pretty sure Sire has often watched it though .

I've now watched the video twice and read most of this thread.

 

I don't see the video as particularly gay or camp as most people seem to think of it. Not that there is anything wrong with thinking like that. The video reminds me of some old and bad teenage movies. Mika really looks like a teenage boy there, dancing mad and posing in the mirror.

 

Um, laser shining from his crotch... It proves nothing but shows what a nutcase he is. This video is even more pointlessly delicious than Love Today!

 

I'm happy that he's selected some gifts from fans to be on the video. Shows what a sweetheart he is!
