  1. Let's practical: at what time must i have to be at the venue?

    9 am?After? It's important for booking my flight ( i don't tell you the prices...)

OMG, Lill, you are flying over :floor: !

I can't believe you are out decadenting Sara  ... You are the :king: of :freak: .

    Cheers,

  2. To be honest I heard that little clip and kinda liked it. Then I kind of heard it on Monday but too many people were talking in the office. Then I was so tired I didn't really listen to it again properly till today.

    Feels like 2007 again!

Yeah, coworkers can be mightily annoying and rude  : honestly, talking business when there are so many much more serious things to listen to :sneaky2: !

What's brilliant with teaching :thumb_yello: is when you say 'Quiet !', they do shut up  .

    Cheers,

    Id3

  3. Soooo, I guess we will know the winners of the MS ticks after the actual gig?:naughty:

Much as I hate to say it : 'TOLD YOU SO' :naughty: . It's not as if I needed reading cards  , the pattern is well known : before the gig, hints at huge goodies to be showered all over fans by the Mastah :fangurl: , just after the gig, 'oops I am so sorry' emails from the Ticket Fairy to the happy winners :sneaky2: .

    Cheers,

  4. I know, I know :biggrin2:, but I just thought I'd explain the detail just in case.

For example, this past weekend I was in Dublin on a pre-arranged trip that I didn't cancel or change (obviously) after hearing that Mika would be doing Latitude at the same time, because it would have been very silly to change my plans just because the gig happened at the same time. That's just how it is.

:aah: Just saying it becuase apparently some people (not you, I know) think that I am totally nuts and only follow Mika and drop anything to go chase him, so I wanted to show a more realistic side to it all :naughty:.

No need for false modesty, Sara :wink2: . Excellence, even in failings, is something to be proud of :thumb_yello: . Of course you are :insane: and decadent, we all admire  and envy :sneaky2: you for that.

    Cheers,

    Id3

  5. Her (the Ticket Fairy, that is) reply to my email yesterday was short

    and sweet:

    Hello there...

    Still working on tix

So she hasn't abandoned me yet completely... I'm definitely NOT

ignoring her, just exploring other avenues, such as the Donut Fairy.

Much more satisfying on a personal level, I must say :naughty:

AC, I  to you ! As we French say, you don't easily let go of your bone :dog::thumb_yello: .

    Cheers,

    Id3

  6. Laurel won tickets from another place, I think...we still haven't heard from Big M about his 3 tix, which I suspect have gone to the same resting place as Rose's clogs....etc:mf_rosetinted:

As, for instance, DL's princely invitation :fangurl: to the PDP, trip, hotel and VIP seat :floor:...

    Cheers,

    Id3

  7. Yeah, how did we already know that? :naughty:

No he won't!! He'llbe 60 and still promising things that never materialise :naughty:

Stop being cynical, that's my, WW and Laura's job :sneaky2: .

You are supposed to be just decadent, much more stylish  but not so enjoyable  .

    Cheers,

    Id3

  8. I don't think we need to do that -- they already ARE We are Golden! LOL!

    :roftl:

I think your tone was a bit harsh, and has continued to be

harsh, and now I'm asking you respectfully to scale it

down. It's fine to disagree, and it's fine to be passionate, but when you

start going down the insulting road it's time for the moderators to step in.

You need to "get over yourself" as well -- everyone has a right to

express their opinion here, but no one has a right to be insulting and

rude. Please reread the MFC Guidelines (link in my sig) if you need

to be reminded of what's acceptable here.

I'm happy to see you actively posting again -- I remember you from

way back, so I know you're a longtime fan like many of us and that

you are probably just as excited at Mika's return to the "scene" as

we are. I'm just asking that you express yourself a little less aggressively.

    Thanks so much! :thumb_yello:

    Cheers,

  9. I am stunned, shocked and well, quite frankly gutted :S

On first listen I hated it, infact so did everybody around me at the time. Which prompted some serious p*** taking as they know how much I like Mika. Add embarrassed to the above list

Ok, so now after hearing it what feels like a gazillion times (thanks Radio1) I can appreciate (?) its catchiness, but the whole "we are gawwwlden" (perfect description btw) bit makes me cringe.

What really worries me is, was this really the best track he had on the album? After such a long break this single needed to be as spectacular as Grace Kelly was, and surely most of us can admit it's just not? I was really hoping he would come out with something a lot better both lyrically and musically and a lot less teeny pop, just to show all his doubters that he could. Instead this is the worst example of sacharine pop so far and will just confirm the opinions of those who see him as a tacky kiddies pop star.

    Sorry. No, really I am.

Roby, there are three of us now, we're a much less endangered species :dance_man: !

    Cheers,

    Id3

  10. Gawlden. :mf_rosetinted: It still sounds like GAAAAAAAWWWLDEEEN, even after I've heard it a million times. :roftl:

    True  .

Really, Sire, what happened to you, leaving your American vowels in mid-Atlantic  !

Fortunately, there is some 'wader' in Lady Jane to make up for it :thumb_yello: ...

    Cheers,

    Id3

  11. Yay! :thumb_yello:

I'm still waiting mine :sneaky2:, despite the thousands of mails I sent to Sandbag, they keep telling me to check with my local post office (I did it four times, you bastards!!!!!!), I got really angry!!!!!!!!

    :dunno:

I really don't know what to do anymore! And distances make it even more difficult. I wish I could be there to go and scream at them or something!

Countless emails. Countless replies from them. "Please, reconfirm your address", "we're checking", "please check with your local post office", "please check with your local post office", "please check with your local post office" and "please check with your local post office" have been the most usual.

I know, it makes you :furious: , and feel like :bonk: them, doesn't it ?

Still they kind of grow on you :blush-anim-cl: : I received my copy, at long last, a couple of days ago and now I miss the daily emails :tears::crybaby: .

But I am happy the cd made it across the Channel in a little over 2 months :pbjt: .

    Cheers,

    Id3

  12. I know what you mean!:wub2:

Maybe this not the place to talk about it but I think that so far, on my own top list of Mika’s songs, SITM is a clear and outstanding favourite.

I have been collecting many different versions of that song from different gigs and I never get tired to hear them. That song has, apart from the lyrics, which is a masterpiece in itself, so much variation in it, with his voice, the humming part and the endless ways he treats it on the piano! Just love it!

Don't worry, love : f we didn't post off topic this wouldn't be the MFC :naughty: .

SITM lyrics are poignant, at the same time so loving, so bitter and so wistful... I bet there is one guy whose eyes are brimming :tears: whenever he listens to it.

It's a beautiful love song, as touching as HMDYLM, in a different way of course :wink2: .

I myself am not partial to the jazzy piano part of it. It kind of ruins the magic :sneaky2: .

If you have got many versions of it -so have I- can you VM me which is/are your fave(s) :biggrin2: ?

    Cheers,

    Id3

  13. I can't stop listening to the Myspace version...

I'm sure we will have to fight to get into the venue at the next tour. :teehee:

I wish I could -sulking again...

Sleepless for some reason, I've seen the light :pbjt: at 5 in the morning -all great men, Napoleon, a Leo too, and Sire included have been insomniacs- and now I know why I don't much enjoy WAG : no melody to speak of  .

    Cheers,

    Id3

  14. I can barely type ... I'm shaking so much :aah:

Have won two tickets through Cokezone competition ... I put 6 entries in for it cos' you can enter as many times as you like if you have enough points ... it's drawn everyday as well ... got the email when I got home just now ....

I've never been so happy in my fecking life :wub2:

I am so :swoon: for you :dance_man: !

Përhaps Sire should consider luring fairies away from the Coke team and hire them :floor: ...

    Enjoy !

  15. I thought you were a guy. And we're not allowed to mention mika's family, yano. this is a fan forum :thumb_yello:

Yes, I am a guy. So is Sire :wink2: .

We're not allowed to mention Fortuné but posting pics of him near in NYC, near the ice cream van is all right ? I am  .

Incidentally Sire's family has often been mentioned on the threads. By many different MFCers. Quite lately re the Latitude gig.

    Cheers,

  16. Wow! Some of you actually think Mika Sold out with this - according to you - "audience friendly/ radio friendly," Mika has compromised, feel cheated about Mika abandoning us, - WTF??

    Are you Nuts?????

I wouldn't expect everyone to like/love We Are Golden - But - Listen to yourselves - You are Not talking about the Mika that I & Millions of fans have come to like!

Did you listen to the lyrics??

I happen to Love "We Are Golden" - I actually usually respect others for their variable viewpoints - but - that isn't what irks me about your critique.

Listen to We Are Golden a few more times.

    Listen to the lyrics.

Then return & get your heads out of your arses & actually critique it with some intelligence & Knowledge remembering who the Artist is!!

I am sure I will get my Butt Kicked here for my view on the few of you who think Mika sold out - But - You Pi--ed me off!!

I Love We Are Golden & my Congrats to Mika!!

I can't wait for the Whole Album in September!!

I have just got my head out of my arse and it hurt a bit  ... I still have a little hatah yoga training to do :naughty: ...

I am the last person here to kick your butt for speaking your mind and not being pc, I love that :wink2: .

    But 'sold out' ?

I wish people would stop forgetting that Sire is a shrewd businessman as well as a hugely talented artist. You can be both, you don't have to starve to be talented, and he IS both, good for him :thumb_yello: .

And good for us too because everytime he writes and records and performs an audience/radio/chart friendly song he does it with such genius that it takes our breath away, whether it's one of our faves or not.

    Cheers,

    Brilliant pics :thumb_yello: .

I love the 'sorry I couldn't find my shoulder bag so I stole an old one from my granny' touch :wub2: .

And... don't laugh but his thighs seem to be less painfully skinny ; all the junk food has probably jumped onto them :biggrin2: .

His hair though  ! Sooner or later the guys's got to accept the fact that it's thinning and wear it short. Fortuné looks silly with longish hair, he looked yummy in NYC  .

    Cheers,
