  1. I have booked flights and hotel this morning - coming early on Fri 7th (arrive 8am) and then flying back evening of Sat 8th. Staying here http://www.mercure.com/gb/hotel-1244-mercure-hotel-amsterdam-aan-de-amstel/index.shtml because good reviews, really reasonable room rate (£43 each for the 2 of us sharing) and because we are only staying one night we dont need to be in central Amsterdam (if staying longer then would have wanted to be more central for going out in the evenings when not at the gig)
  2. my friend is coming too :thumb_yello:she has just messaged me to say she bought a ticket on the spur of the moment - has never been to a gig before, what a way to lose your concert virginity :biggrin2:lucky girl! still happy to stay at the same place/close to where you are staying though but am less worried now if i end up booking somewhere else
  3. agree - think thurs eve would be better. just need to check flight availability/prices
  4. thank you Am still waiting for my friend to reply to me on fb (the one who lived there for 3yrs) so will let you know if she has any ideas I am likely to be flying out either on thurs eve or early fri morning, and will be heading back on Sat late pm
  5. all help appreciated (you wouldnt think i had given birth to 2 children - how pathetic am i, stressing about doing this alone haha) When are people flying out/back? anyone coming from the south on the fri and coming back sat pm? and which hotel/s are people staying at? anyone needing to share a room still? (though would prob prefer that to be with someone i have at least met ) thanks for any help/signposting....
  6. yes - i think i just wore him down :bash: and in the end he thought it would be an easier life just to let me go now i need to sort out flights and somewhere to stay. its one thing going to a UK gig on my own but another thing completely going to another country on my own
  7. thank you for this - have just been and bought one of the newly released tickets. I am coming to Amsterdam :thumb_yello:
  8. haha, yes I would definitely join! my husband has had enough of me going on about mika all the time ;)

  9. yes i have a little green figaro - my pride and joy she is called Lady Jane I was planning on maybe getting to Bristol for lunchtime but grabbing some food either for the queue or before i start queuing. sure you can text me - will message you my mobile what time you getting there then? x
  10. thanks Rose. A friend of mine lives in Bristol and she says its a multi storey carpark up a steep narrow road. is that right? will an old car with a small engine get up there ok?
  11. def dont want to get there too early but also dont want to be too late either have school run to do before i leave, and have to go to the bank to pay in my wages, and also the supermarket in the next town for hubby who wants a specific meal for his dinner when i am out so wont be heading off early. Also my little fig wont go above 70mph so it will be a slow old drive.... Who knows what time i will get home again afterwards
  12. what time are people planning on getting there tomorrow? have a few things i need to get done before i can head off. And are people parking nearby? never been to bristol but i think from the website that theres a carpark behind the venue, is that right? just have to hope my little old car gets me there ok...
  13. hi Nikjass - I would be really interested in your spare bristol ticket if its still available? can you let me know? thanks

  16. I had to do this yesterday - coming with 3 friends none of whom wanted to queue before 4pm. I was happy to queue from 12noon. But in the end i decided my friends were more important to me than getting front row, as i know i will get front row one day. So i had to compromise. However, we were lucky and got 3rd row so i still had a great view and i got to spend time with my friends. I know though that i could have queued alone earlier and got a better spot but i would have been on my own
  17. if anyone has a spare ticket (pref standing) for this then i would be very happy pls PM me
  18. does anyone have any spare tickets for Bristol? just would need 1 (long shot i know but have managed to fob off my kids on someone til their daddy gets home if i can get a ticket!) pls PM me if you can help

  20. if only it wasnt for my husband and children i would have been there for a lot more gigs - sadly they wont allow me to go along to more wish i had known about mika before i agreed to have kids
  21. My photos from last night - unfortunately when uploading to FB the order has become mixed up, i have managed to move some around though http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=161105&id=666671765&l=52b6b948b6 My report: I was going with 3 friends, and I had always hoped/intended to start queuing from around lunchtime, but none of them wanted to do so, so we ended up arriving at 4ish. Was pleasantly surprised to see that the queue wasnt _that_ big in front of us, though was rather jealous of the MFCers in front who managed to get to queue inside the foyer (so missed the massive rainfall at about 6pm). Was surprised by all the pushing and shoving that took place once we were inside, loved Jazzy calling people slags for trying to push past us all Got inside and bagged 3rd row position at far left of stage. Was a really good view for most of the concert, though people in front were wearing sparkly red hats which sometimes obscured the view. Thought the gig was amazing - lots of eye contact throughout, very energetic performances, beautiful singing, as always. Couldnt work out what the technical problems were, thought it was all mindblowing. Best bit for me though was at the end he threw his drumstick to me - i had signalled to him that i wanted it, and he looked, smiled and threw it. Sadly my friends didnt want to wait for meet and greet so i didnt stay to get it signed Have got some videos uploading on youtube, including one of Sariflor as a big girl dancing with Mika
