  1. I'm scared of marionettes (like old school Thunderbirds marionettes), bees/ all stinging creatures, deep water (and I live in a city based around the harbour)... and I think that's the only unusual ones.
  2. Yummmm..... Poutine.... I've never had poutine in Quebec (I had it at Arby's for breakfast actually, but it sucked).. Best poutine I've had though was in the science and technology museum in Ottawa. Oh technicalities.
  3. Freddie is right, but the magazine's definition isn't wrong though either. In the situation Freddie offered, "cause for complaint" would work too. But all in all, Freddie's definition is easier to understand, and fits better.
  4. The torch relay came through here in October. It was easily, one of the most awesome things I've ever seen. The Energy was just amazing, and once the torch went onto the stage and then we all sang Oh Canada... I teared up actually. It was very moving.
  5. The windchill's been kinda atrocious here. Right now the Weather Network's saying that it's -14, -25 with the windchill. I definitely believe them.
  6. It was really windy here too! And it's still very windy. And it's just pure white outside because they can't plow it very good because the snow's kinda icy.
  7. Okay, so last night we had a snow storm (ish). Now my screen door (storm door) won't open from the outside because it's frozen. I almost got stuck outside.
  8. So yesterday, I was watching a video one Youtube (what a surprise). It was from some channel that does facts about stuff and the one I watched was about Canada. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lj2_4Hy4XPI Worst Canadian facts ever! #9, Okay that was amazingly stereotypical. There are polar bears in Alaska too! #6 The Bay of Fundy is not strictly Nova Scotia's. That severely offended me. #5 Their Tim Hortons, not doughnut shops. You people make Canadians sound fat. This really kinda irked me. Canadians are a LOT more intresting than those facts were.
  9. lol, VOT, you are funny. The sentence was hilarious! "Mika, sentenced by his mom, to stop filling up on candy and pop right before dinner and video shoot"
  10. Skit and sketch mean the same thing if their used in the same context. Like your could call it a comedy skit or a comedy sketch, and they both mean the same thing. But the word sketch also has a different meaning. Sketch can be a quick/rough drawing. Like if you wanted to have a rough idea of what you were drawing, before you sit down and spend the time to do it right. I know in math class, when we only want a rough idea of what something is going to look like, we Sketch it out.
  11. "To no avail" is like for something to be useless or ineffective. An example I found on the internet that illustrates it well: All his shouting was to no avail; no one could hear him
  12. Wow, these words are kinda hard to explain the pronunciation of. Sir- sounds similar to the french word "sur" (at least to me) but more so like "ser". Sire- I'd describe this one as sounding like "sigh-er" or "sI-er" where the "I" is pronounced like the letter. Hope that helps.
  13. Not even close. It's more like a bigger city with a small town feel. Well, it's kinda big to me. I just know that land wise it's the biggest city in my province and second or third biggest population wise. Mind you, that doesn't mean much-- I live in the Maritimes.
  14. I don't think I could ever get my radio station to play Mika. I live in a fairly large city, just no one here like Mika. I've never met anyone else in my city who loves him as much as I do.
  15. You know you're a Mika fan when... -You wrote out some lyrics from every song on TBWKTM on your school binder -You cried when you couldn't get TBWKTM on the day it came out -when the only thing you listened to on your iPod for 6 weeks was TBWKTM, and now can only barely listen to other music - When your friends see you enjoying what your listening to on your iPod and their like "Mika" -When you got up really early on the first day we all heard we are golden (July 20th?), and then proceeded to cry after you heard the song because it was the most amazing song you've heard in ages - when, on that day we all first heard we are golden, you stalked Mika's twitter, the MFC and the Mikasounds forum to see what else he was doing that day, which happened to be play we are golden on more radio stations, and listened each time - When you no longer can take history class seriously because some king way back in the day said " Chicken in every pot" - When your mom occasionally takes your iPod so she can listen to Relax and Lollipop - When you get mad at the guy from the music store because he said Mika's name wrong
  16. Man, how accurate is the members map that's linked too on the front page? I looked at it and it shows that there's only like 4 of us from the Maritimes. Yeah. Just saying.
