I think that only someone with the painting skills that you have could realise of those details. The vid is made for the people in general, and for what I see... people is not loving it that much. Also it has nothing to do with the rest of vids Mika did before, so I´m not thinking that this is what Mika exclusively demanded, cause it´s not "Mika-ish" at all.

With this vid I have the same feeling as with the video that the south american guy, Cristian... sorry I forgot the surname, did. I didn´t like it AT ALL. It didn´t remind me of Mika, of the idea of Mika I had. And it happens the same with this one. I can see similarities among HE, BIOTG and WAG vids. But this one, has nothing to do with those. After Celebrate (that looked a bit like Rain but in a more professinal way IMO) I thought he was finally going to make some...interesting videoclips.

 

Maybe he loves it, and perhaps, if he explains the meaning of the vid, I could interpret it differently. But now, I´ve just watched it once, and the feelings are:

- fake boat in a fake sea and Mika exaggerating his role A LOT.

- nice shoots underwater.

Uhu, I can understand where you're coming from. And why you don't like it that much.

And I don't think it's a particularly bad thing that this video gets so mixed reactions. After all the worst reaction is that nobody gives a damn. If anyone, also not Mika fans even get to the point as to think: hmm, yeah, this sucks, or no this isn't so good or could've been done like that or like that. That means they've given thought to it. So they actually care and expect things.

And after all, I seriously don't give a damn how the video clip looks like,I mostly just watch those once, and then just listen to the song, so it's still the song they have to like. And if they do, they won't mind the video is not to their taste. And if they don't like the song, I don't think any video can change that.

I really wish everyone would think like you... Cause Mika needs a good vid out there now more than ever.

I know not everyone will like this one.

And I don't know if the Origin of Love video was good because I still haven't watched it

But I just love these kind of things. I know it doesn't look realistic, but that's just what I love and you can also see it was never meant to look realistic. it looks handmade with the fabric. And the sky makes it look like a painting.

And did I mention the colours they're so aesthetically pleasing, just like in the GK video.

I really love the vid. The colourpalette has been chosen so well. The exaggerated sky combined with the simple blue fabric as waves.

And I don't think it's because of the budget they've used the fabric as waves. I think it's an actual choice, and I love it. It's what makes the video extra special imo. It kinda reminds me of the video for Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men. I don't know why, but the boat part has the same vibe as the video.

The underwater part could've been a tiny bit longer in my opinion. But it's done nicely, makes a good contrast with the intense colours above the water.

You're both right, that's why I pointed out that we should only use them before Mika comes to stage or just one time in between two songs. But there is a risk that people are going to hum through the kazoo during the whole concert...

i like the serpentine idea, but do those things fly far? I mean, will it be visible from stage?

Someone on the fb page of the event says that the radio is a bit quicker when you're in the car... So everyone go sit in your car and listen to the radio!

I'm not sure it's true, but still. I do know that the internet stream is slower than listening to the radio normally!

I thought about that too, but idk, I don't think that that will help, it's maybe a bit too pushy and slightly rude. Though it would be the perfect opportunity to make up for forgetting about the playback
