  1. Finally back home... The gig in Amsterdam was...hm..so-so for me. I arrived at 13:30 at the venue after having wasted 1 hour at the tourist office at central station to get an I Amsterdam Card ( I swear I was about to kill someone from this office ...). When I arrived at the venue the list had already been closed so I had to que with the "regular" people and this sucked big time. I knew nobody, I was the only person dressed up, I couldnt leave the line for fear of losing my place, it was cold, it was raining and although I tried to start a conversation with the people around me, it didn`t really work. I felt abandoned and alone. And if you wonder why there is no Jabberwocky on any of the group pics, that´s the reason for it. At some point I just put my headphones on and listened to music until the batterries were low. One hour before entering the venue I finally managed to get into a conversation with a nice guy from Serbia named Milrod. Thank god for Milrod! We decided to stick together throughout the gig. We were standing in the third row. Mellody suggested to move over to her place to stand in the second row but I preferred a more central position since I wanted to see more of the stage. The gig was absolute fabulous. It was my second gig and it felt like an entire new show...actually it was...Duesseldorf had been my first MIKA gig. I wont write much more about the gig itself since that has already been done by others. Just two quick notes: 1. Milrod had not been to a MIKA gig before and it was so funny to see how he got all excited...every two minutes he said "Thats amazing, awesome...oh...balloons!!!look ballooons!!!!!..and glitter!!!!" *g 2. I think the sound quality in Duesseldorf was better. Sometimes I couldnt even hear Mika sing. After the gig I waited like everybody else for Mika. I wanted to tell him that I really enjoyed the show. I know people on this board have pointed it out several times: the MIKA look that makes you weak in the knees. So when he finally stood in front of me I had a brain malfunction and couldnt say anything at all. It was an awkward moment: Mika looked at me as if he was waiting for something and I just stared back like a hypnotized rabbit. Finally I handed him my Alice in Wonderland book. He signed it, I managed to utter "Thank you" and he had already moved on to the next person. Can I just say that he really has the most gorgeous eyes ever? Although he seemed tired and a bit in a hurry Mika signed for every single person (and it must have been at least 50 people if not even much more). I got to admire him for his patience - really. Afterwards Nessa, Rauschendes-Bächlein and I took a cab to my hotel and we chatted for a while about the gig and so on. We developed some new interesting theories and eventually fell asleep.
  2. packing for Amsterdam right now, finally decided to go to my hotel first since it takes me more than an hour to go there from the heineken music hall and back again...if everything works as planned I`ll be at the venue at 13:00 or 14:00 looking forward to meeting you all
  3. I hereby declare my costume to be finished Amsterdam, here I come Gonna spend the next two days with cleaning up my apartment. It`s a mess...it looks like someone dropped a bomb
  4. Who cares for food and champagne...all you need is a front row place and Mika as close as possible
  5. Oh my god, oh my god..I am already soooo excited. I`m at work and can barely focus. I`m so looking forward to this. Can`t wait to see all the amazing costumes. We will all look so....good.... We have to take lots of pics, that`s for sure. I expect an epic gig .
  6. uuhhhhh it looks really good ...keep going, you can do it! was it you who was gluing every single feather? I`m still working on my costume...after gluing 1000 (yes, 1000) scales I`m almost done...only 200 more.... and Ì will NEVER do something like this again...NEVER! Someone shoot me if I try something like this again...
  7. @RakI I`m going to stay in Amsterdam from Friday til Sunday. We can do a little sightseeing together on Saturday if you like
  8. Thank youvery much for your advice :-) One last question: I was thinking about buying the I Amsterdam Card because I`m going to stay in Amsterdam for three days. It includes free transports. I couldnt figure out if this includes the subway, too. Somehow I dont get the transport system in Amsterdam Do you know anything about this?
  9. Does someone in this thread happen to be an Amsterdam resident? I need a strategic advice... Next Friday I`ll arrive at Amsterdam Centraal at 11:25. My hotel is somewhere in the south, near RAI center. I have two options: I can go to the hotel first to get rid of my stuff or I can go straight to the Heineken Music Hall but would have to leave again around 14:00 to do the check-in at my hotel. According to my map I can go there from the Heineken Music Hall by underground train (two or three stations). What would you do? I don`t know how long it would take me to go to the hotel and back to the music hall. I`m afraid I`ll get a bad queing number if i go to the hotel first...and I`m afraid I`ll lose my number if I go to the Heineken Music Hall first and it takes me too long to travel back.... Any advice?
  10. as long as there is no rain I`ll survive the queing...I hope.... Still working on my costume....I`m in panic mode now....GAAAAAH
  11. Ah...I see..well, it`s not necessary to pay a fortune. The right make up and a simple shirt should be enough
  12. why does the cat dont have a costume? tsss tsss tsss... it`s easy: cat make up and a shirt with strips e voila...

  14. I go by train, too and will arrive at Amsterdam Central Station at 11:30 if everything goes as planned. I have to check in at the hotel first...depending on if they`ll let me check in early I think I`ll arrive at the venue somewhere between 13:00 and 14:00.
  15. Thank you guys:biggrin2:...you might now understand my doubts about getting the costume done in time....because of the dragon scales...anyway...I might just cut out larger scales or whatever....as long as i got my mask If anyone wants to party afterwards I`d like to join. I`m going to stay the whole weekend in Amsterdam...sightseeing etc. Never been there before.
  16. I`m still working on my Jabberwocky costum. The mask is already done, now working on my armor........hope I´ll get it done till May 7th though ....
  17. ..you decide to build a costume for one of his gigs...and you want it to be perfect...even if you have to creat aproxx. 500 single dragon scales, paint them, let them dry, poison yourself with the spray-on-finish *cough* and almost glue yourself to your cat with the hot glue pistol.....omg, I`m so high on spray-on-finish right now...
  18. Yepp, I`ll do the flash mob thing :-)...boy, I`m going to be super busy this month....making a costume and learning to dance...
