  1. Exactly. Or at least I know that after I heard Toy Boy back when TBWKTM came out, I was absolutely overwhelmed by the complexity and deepness of the song. It easily became my favourite track on the album. In contrast to the nursery rhymes like melody, the song as a whole is an absolute genius combination of human feelings, habits and reactions. I am sorry that the song didn't get that famous and many people took it for granted, but it wasn't that shocking to me though. I knew such a complex song that takes more than one listening to fully understand wouldn't become a hit ever. It was not that hit kind of song either. But yes, that is definitely off the hook. Not to talk about Grace Kelly any more, which is - as I like to think - the greatest thing he's yet accomplished, musically speaking. It's such a complex song as well and it's that kind of hit song that never gets aged. Or at least not for me. It has enough musicality and uniqueness that can keep it alive for years and years from now on.
  2. These look like so much fun!! It definitely looks like Imma is enjoying herself the most! Definitely Martin did as well, but maybe that white powder on his face and heavy wig were sort of a burden for him
  3. Oh my God I didn't even know they were going to venue it over there!! Hah my avatar picture was taken there . However, I hope you girls had a whale of a time, can't wait to hear about it
  4. ahahahah so funny! happy belated birthday to him though!!
  5. True, I totally agree with you. I mean, not only destroying your joy to be there, but also taking Mika's joy for granted, because let me tell you, I am 100% sure that this thing that we're able to see now is the result of many years of hard work and dedication coming from him. This is what he's been working at for the past couple of years and now people're moaning that this is not him and this is not what they expected and yadda yadda. This is him, this is him evoluated and this is him doing what he's been wanting to do since forever. I am convinced that if Mika had had the financial and other possibilities to create this back in his first years of music industry, then he would've done that. I am sure of that. What he did back then was also something to be cherished because he put a lot of effort and dedication into it, but this is a dream come true for him and it's not to be taken like this. This is what I think. I'm glad you had a great time and it was lovely to read your little report, minus the security part of course
  6. "Karen" is lovely for the title, but I have to admit I am definitely going to call it "82, Rue des Martyrs". I find it brilliant like that, way more fascinating and catchy than simply "Karen".
  7. Well I think I said it a million times before but this song is totally on my side of the street and I have already listened to these little footages from the Compiegne gig for a trillion times. However, what I really like about it is that composing manner of his, that he actually used in a couple more songs, Any other world for instance. I'm talking about that beginning, just like a pulse and then violins making their way throughout the song and BANG, the violins are taking over and everything gets a little funkier. I really enjoyed that in 82, Rue des Martyrs. Cannot wait to listen to the studio version though, without any other noises like people screaming and stuff So far so good though. PS, I am the only one that thinks "82, Rue des Martyrs" is a way better title than simply "Karen"? I find it incredible fascinating and intriguing that way.
  8. Ohh sounds amazing, I'm glad you had such a great time!! Love the genuine and still excited feeling in your report!!
  9. I know many of you are kind of "complaining" about Ida's operatic voice, but in some certain passages I honestly think it works beautifully. I mean, she has that ability to control some notes and juggle with them, unlike pop singers do and that sounds beautiful to me. Of course the slightly big contrast between her and Mika's voice is obvious, but Mika has also got a great opera experience and if you ask me, I think he manages to get into that operatic singing mood as well.
  10. OHH this just made me giggle, he's such a nice man!! You were so lucky to have him coming and being in such a good mood Even though, I've noticed he always tries to be excessively nice to his fans doesn't matter how tired or busy he is. You were one lucky girl that night, really happy for you!!
  11. Well, I don't know about many of you guys who think the new songs are pretty plain or overrated with nothing too catchy, but for me they work perfectly. And I really like this thing about Meeks - Even though he has that certain style of his, he manages to come up with different sounds so every single fan of his gets what he/she wants to hear. There're a couple songs of his that I don't like either, but these new ones simply DO IT for me. "Karen" is absolutely beautiful, if you ask me; that variety of beats sounds pretty amazing.
  12. I think you mean "Blame it on the weather" because that's how the duet with Ida is called . Well I doubt she is/will be the one on the record, but as far as for the live performance I think she sounds just perfect. I would like her to be on the album, but I don't think it's her who will be recorded with him though.
  13. Just found this video of his duet with Ida!! (Blame it on the weather)
  14. Thanks for the short but pretty broad report! We look forward to reading more about your experience
  15. It's killing me :wub2: I love it so much. Si da, Karen e de asemenea superbaaaaa. Way better than Elle me dit, as spune
  16. Yes, true, it's such an amazing song, it's worth being released worldwide. Exactly my thoughts.
  17. Oh my God I just listened (still listening actually) to his duet with Ida and I think it's absolutely amazing. God I'm in awe. I don't even care about the recycled title, the music is just amazing and their voices sound sublime together.
  18. He's got rid of them for the Compiegne gig, so maybe it was just some sort of experiment here, in Romania . It's true his hair wasn't in the greatest shape ever at B'estfest, but I kind of like what he did with it now, at Compiegne.
  19. Yeah, just have sort of an idea about it! Thanks! And definitely, he seems so much more confident singing this song than Elle me dit. I think this suits him way better than Elle me dit though.
  20. Holy everything, this song is so beautiful I fell in love with it at the first listening. I think this is "Karen", right? I think I heard "Karen dit.." a couple times haha.
  21. OK sunt in transa. I am infatuated to those costumes. Even in low quality photos. *knocked down*
  22. Well, he pierced his ear. That's all I see. The rest is pretty blurred. A fost un soc cand l-am vazut cu cercel la Magic Numbers Gig.. but got over it. I think it's cool now
