thanks, that's good to know. I certainly won't stay up until 4am... but maybe I'll watch the first 30 minutes or so, hoping that the connection to him is live, because I suppose he wouldn't stay up all night for it either. I'll see how tired I am.
We just saw about ten seconds of him singing L’hymne à l’amour... not sure we’ll have more later

Live only with a Canadian VPN/Proxy, on this link: https://www.qub.ca/tvaplus/tva/en-direct - but Eriko has managed to download the replays of the last episodes, so let's hope we can watch those without a VPN.
I hadn't planned to stay up so long tonight to watch it live, for maybe just a minute of a prerecorded video, who knows if it's really a live video connection and how long he'll be on... but I miss him, I just want to see him, so maybe I'll just stay up and hope he'll at least be on during the first hour (btw, how long is the show?).
It’s more than 2.5 hours...

Interesting. How many episodes will there be from today, do we know that? I suppose it might be the last 3 weeks that he's there. Because usually for the final in such shows there's a lot more show elements, a lot more work for an artistic director. At least that's my interpretation, based on these infos.
There are 12 shows, haven’t read anything, but I have the same impression regarding Mika, that he’ll be there for the last 3... we’ll see I guess

Thanks! The "open official site" from your first link works for me with a Canadian proxy. https://www.qub.ca/tvaplus/tva/en-direct
Anyway he'd have to be on soon after the show starts, I'm not planning to stay up all night for a few seconds of him saying Hi.
You got the right link!

Lol did he actually say he played Lola live only 1 or 2 times?! He must've been really tired on the 2012/2013 tour to forget already that it was part of the setlist. Or did I understand that wrong? Maybe he was being ironic?
That Jakub guy reminds me of Giulio in some of his photos.
Yes, he did say that he only played Lola live a few times... 😂 no irony whatsoever!

You were right, they *are* all photoshopped
I love the arrow that the photographer draw on top of the person pretending to be Mika in her concept... she also said that it was hard for her to decide where to place everyone, as « some persons are very tall » 😂- 3

Thanks, dear @Subtitling Team, that was incredibly fast!
I wonder if he'll even be there in person in February? Apparently he already has started working on the concept, and of course that sounds wonderful that he'll use the star academy contestants to illustrate his own story. Can't wait to see that. How are the restrictions in Canada, is there a lockdown atm? Do people coming from abroad need to quarantine?
Yes, there is a lockdown in the province of Quebec at the moment and I expect it to be extended tomorrow. There is also a 14-day quarantine for the people travelling to Canada, you can get an exception, but reading about it, I doubt he can be considered «essential » so we’ll see how they will manage

The show will start with two weeks of bootcamps on January 17 and 24 (no Mika in them) and live shows (and Mika participation) will start on February 14.
he didn’t say much in the 4 minutes he was interviewed 😉

Hello everybody, from what I understand the show is going to be broadcasted live both on France 2 and TV5 Monde.
France 2 is not directly accessible, you have to watch it from another site (provided they won't ask you to download and install a player that might not be safe or subscribe to watch, so beware!).
While TV5 Monde is direct and free and you can also check the TV Guide online for programs, replay and so on. You can also choose the quality of streaming that suits you.
Here's the link:https://europe.tv5monde.com/en/live
At least, it works for Europe, but I'm not sure it is visible from other continents.
I have access to TV5 in Canada on my TV and they will broadcast the show on the 31, if that can help anyone 😉- 5

I love Paris and the french language, so I really liked this song! Written by Pierre Lapointe so not a typical MIKA - song. About two lovers who end their story:
IN FRENCH:
PIERRE
PIERRE
I remember your heart of ice
From my masterful analyzes
Time has stood still, no more threat
I hope you are hurting too
Tonight it's snowing, it's snowing on Montreal
MIKA
The whiteness fallen from space
On the din of my life
Will disappear without a trace
Our love is gone
Tonight, it's snowing, it's snowing in Paris
MIKA & PIERRE
Six hours by plane separate us
Yet you're still way too close
Winter has been brewing for months
Now he's here for real
PIERRE
We both lost face
In general confusion
Of our love rots the carcass
Far from the tropical heat
Tonight it's snowing, it's snowing on Montreal
MIKA
Love is sometimes disgusting
But what's the use of staying bitter
Hate and tears pass
One day, yes, we will be healed but
Tonight it's snowing, it's snowing on Paris
MIKA & PIERRE
Six hours by plane separate us
Yet you're still way too close
Winter has been brewing for months
Now he's here for real
When summer is back
Maybe we can talk
At the moment it's way too heavy
We've already made ourselves cry too much
Six hours by plane separate us
Yet you're still way too close
Winter has been brewing for months
Now he's here for real
it’s such a typical Pierre Lapointe’s song.I love the guy (he shares a lot with Mika, especially on clothing... they are about the same shape, they could probably swap clothings) but his work is far from being mainstream and sometimes, it’s too much for me! I like it in small dosage only 🤫

I hope so too, but they only mention Louane, Kylie and Rufus - if they cut the duets with Danna and Mashrou Leila, it'll lose some of the best parts. 🙄 I guess they won't show Laura Pausini's performance, and maybe also not the poems, but I hope they'll leave the other songs.
On another note, they write he's in Athens, or at least was yesterday for the video conference. Max also posted a pic from Athens on IG last night, with Andy on it... I thought they'd be filming something for Max, maybe a music video, as his album is out tomorrow... but maybe it was something for Mika?
They left oit Ice Cream, the poems and Laura Pausini but kept Danna Paola (both songs) and PROMISELAND 🎉

Thanks for this, Karin. I feel the same way. This program started as an effort to raise funds, so giving it away for free seems to defeat that purpose, especially if indeed they decide to offer it as a DVD or digital download in the future.
Hmm, that's odd that they would be sold out on Mika's own site, but still available -- for preorder -- somewhere else. I'll look into that.
You definitely should, Anna. He has a voice like a cello. And he's a wonderful performer. Start with the classic "Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk" -- that was the first song of his I ever heard. Then, go through all of his albums. You won't be sorry! 😍
In all honesty, I really like Rufus but I like his sister Martha a lot more 😉

Is this similar to Xfactor / The Voice? Mika seems to be some sort of coach for the talents, if I understand it right - do they have judges as well, or is it different?
Well it's this winter 20/21, right? He surely can't do any gigs before next summer, so I see no problem there. He said several times that he'd love to get a chance to work in Montreal, happy for him that he got it. Seems he's not much worried about Covid, with all the travelling he does and plans now, but well. At least he's doing something, I hope he'll stay cautious nevertheless.
Let's see how much we can see of it in Europe, I can't even access their website, as it's blocked in my region.
He won’t be a coach, but he will plan and direct the group’s performances for the live TV shows. In the last edition, this role was taken by Rene Angelil, Celine Dion’s late husband, who had an extensive experience in producing and performing... when Mika sang in the finale, he came on stage in a car and there was also rain falling from the studio ceiling, don’t you if you remember? It’s quite a big production
yes, there will be judges, but we don’t know yet...

I don't know about his story and values, I'm sure he's a great person - but as for me, his singing voice & music style just don't appeal to me in a way that would get me hooked and interested in getting to know more about him. I know he does have some fans among MFCers though, for example @dcdeb and @tiibet.
It took me YEARS to finally be able to listen to his music... until I went to see him live at the opening of Monteal Jazz Festival a few years ago 😂 before that, I knew who he was because my mom was a huge fan and his mom and thought he was an interesting human being 😉

It sure does sound like it could be Mika releasing a new single. He's been talking about "videoS," plural, and surprises -- so a new song could definitely be on the horizon. He's appeared on this show before, IIRC, so I wouldn't be at all surprised.
Can't wait to find out for sure!
My TV recorder is set up!
can’t wait 😊

Thanks for posting that, Karin. I looked a little more and I think it may actually be a TV show, but obviously everything is being done remotely now. So maybe we'll be able to see Mika do this -- right now, all I can find is that he'll be on on Tuesday, at 9 p.m. (21h) on ICI Télé. Do any of our Canadian/Montreal fans know anything more about this show?
Here's the Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/BonsoirBonsoirRC/
I do! I watch it almost every night. it’s a TV show (same channel as En direct de l’univers)They have been doing a few interviews with international guests lately (via skype), yesterday, it was Josh Harnett. They also had Christine and the queens a few weeks ago. Those interviews last about 5 minutes and they have usually been recorded a few days before.
Looking forward to see Mika.

Lol, or Andy might think "why does he only fill the kitchen with flowers when he's doing an IG live?!" It was indeed a lot of flowers this time. The roses were lovely, but I surely would've put the lilies on the balcony, I absolutely hate the smell of lilies! Tho they do look beautiful.
I wonder what Mika sometimes looked at quite intensly, on Andy's left side.
The sweetest thing was what he said in French, that cooking was just an excuse to spend time with us. Aww. Ok I hope he didn't just mean his French fans with that - but even if, we'll never know anyway, so I can believe what I prefer.
Still I felt rather sad after this live - his talk about all the things he's doing now kinda pulled me down, because I'm stuck here with my 2 small kids and get absolutely nothing done because of that! Dear Jealousy... Glad to see him happy though. When I rewatched the video again in the evening, it didn't bother me anymore. Maybe I was just more relaxed at that time, than I am at noon. Without the video freezing all the time, like in the live, it was also easier to catch his mood while he said these things - and he was just being really sweet, maybe also noticing that made a difference.
although my kids are pretty much grown up and can take care of themselves most of the time, I have so much work (I’m working from home) that I don’t have time to do much... so don’t feel bad (it makes me more angry than sad, personally 😏, as my company was deemed essential and for us, it’s mostly business as usual... wish I could do more to help people who really need it) -

I’ve watched everything so far and nothing about Mika, guess they will do it when he’s there...
I really like the daily shows because it outlines to work and preparation behind the big Sunday shows, which were OK but not great either
