  1. just discovered this: http://www.swatch.com/net.hunt/discover ... so, it starts on oct 27 and every team must have 3 members from different countries. and while solving each puzzle, you get to see more and more of mika's swatch design. this is really exciting! :biggrin2:

3 members from 3 different countries... good that mfc is so international! :teehee: i'm definitely looking for someone in my team who is good at maths, cause that's not really my strength. :teehee: i'm creative tho, the internet is my 2nd home, and i have lots of time. :biggrin2: wondering already how that's gonna work with the time... do all team members have to be online at the same time? and does the time count from that given point or from when you start? if team members can work on their own in case the others don't have time, i guess it'd make sense to build teams from different time zones.

this is gonna be really interesting... :teehee:

I think everyone on the team will have to be on at the same time - they already said the first clue will be given at 4 internet time on the 27th so I figure the fastest team to solve any clue wins that round

I had no problem getting on their website and registering etc.. Hmm.. But it doesn't bode well if other teammates will then have a problem

I'm also looking for teammates frm 2 other countries so... :aah:

  2. Jesus, what a performance :aah:

And not in a good way... I mean... He spent like 20 hours in a plane for this performance, and I don´t know... I kinda expected something "more". I don´t find his "touch" at all in the vid. I´m not going to mention the sound again, as I´ve read you already did, and maybe that was a handicap, but... In my opinion, Mika wasn´t at his best, and Ariana totally f*cked it up:teehee:

Seriously... what´s wrong with this woman? Her voice is annoying, and the way she uses it, it´s even more annoying. I´ve always had hopes in Mika´s US career, but somehow it seems it´s farer each day.

    Time runs, Mika...

Do I need to mention it´s just MY opinion??? To any Ariana fan, I´m sorry.

I love the pics from this show but I gotta agree I thought the performance was not very good...they seemed out of sync and not very compatible, esp in the chorus :( glad I didn't wait up for it :teehee:

  3. of course we can assume that mika wasn't aware of those pix being taken, until he spotted the photographer. but who knows what happened then? we assumed in 2007 that he wasn't comfortable with showing his bare chest in public. if someone had said a year ago that mika would judge x-factor and the voice, we would have thought it was a joke. really guys, we don't know what he thinks of it. or his family/friends.

yes, for all we know he and his family cherish their privacy. but just recently i said on the popular thread that paparazzi pix and scandalous stories seem to be the way to sell music nowadays, and that i'm glad mika doesn't do it that way. but maybe his italian promoters convinced him that a few pix of him having fun with his family would help his career there, and everyone agreed to have them published? this *might* be the reason for his italian website posting them. i'm pretty sure someone must've tipped off this pap. and there probably was at least a week between those pix being taken and being published. enough time to intervene.

the reason paparazzi still exist is that they are part of the whole fame game. so far they luckily never were a big part of mika's career, but who knows, maybe this is another change we have to get used to. not one i like, but i guess that's all the italian girls wanted to say: whether we understand or like it or not, it does help his career in italy. and maybe him and his family accept this as part of the fame game. or maybe his italian promoters decided this all for themselves, and mika is totally angry with them now. or any other scenario. we simply don't know. that's why, besides being glad that mfc isn't a tabloid, i won't take sides in the sense of moaning about the bad paps and feeling sorry for anyone who's on their pix, until i know what their opinion on it is.

    it.

I agree with all of this and esp the bolded part :thumb_yello:

So yup I think the pics shouldn't be posted here as they are against the guidelines

And yup we are making many assumptions (maybe educated, but still assumptions) about the opinions and feelings about ppl in the picture when the truth is, things change, people change and we don't know anything for sure about the feelings of the ppl in those pics until they decide to publicly address it...

I guess it's more entertaining to talk about the pros and cons of paps and what Mika's reaction must be tho so as we were :aah:

  4. We all know he is not prepared to do what it takes. It's a bit disappointing for me since he shifted his focus exclusively to continental Europe, but fine. It's his choice. But it is a CHOICE. You can't blame it on his advisors, especially since Mika has made no secret of the fact that he never listens to anyone anyway. And you can't blame it on Ariana's fans or Americans and their taste in music. The idea that the US is supposed to fall all over an artist who turns up once every 3 years to play a handful of clubs is ridiculous. Yes as music lovers we're all offended that no-talents like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus get more recognition in the US but they have devoted their lives to it and Mika rarely even comes here. You cannot succeed on talent alone. This is not some sad reality of the music industry, it is true for every career. And his work in continental Europe counts for nothing I'm afraid as far as any English speaking market goes.

Agreed with all of this. The end. :thumb_yello:

  5. I read some gay groups in VKontakte (russian FB) and can clearly see the situation from inside. Even if there are people who support or not against gays in the country, the whole situation is awful. The gay guys are totally frustrated. There are too many occasions of killing gays and remaining unpunished. They feel that the law supports them!

In the whole, the phrase :We thought he is gay" is a great excuse. Recently was killed the boy in the tight jeans who even was't a gay - the chavs just found a good victim and a good excuse.

Also there is a nazi organization which members catch gays and humiliate then, making videos and posting in Internet.

It is only a bit of what happens!

Let alone the fact that some people get fired from the work and even the resonance in Internet can do nothing.

So, when I read the posts of gay people there and see their despair I feel and enormous hatred to those politics and the chavs who seems like act together.

Moreover, the religious fanatics are in rage! Old women with crosses with the mad thoughtless eyes - the awful view, believe me.

Thanks for relating this - this is as I thought... I can't read Russian so I would have no clue how to go about searching this sort of inside information...

When a country already has other problems and wasn't very gay- friendly to begin with, gay people are an easy target for hatred and to vent on sadly :(

  6. I can answer every question Mika will receive about when he is coming to Mars, etc. "I really love [insert country here]. The fans are amazing. I definitely want to go to [insert country here]. I am not touring right now. But when the album comes out."

And for the album question he will say yes because he has answered yes to this question every time for the past 6 years whether he was in the middle of it or a year away from even starting on it. And if he is pressed for details he will say something like "it's a lot like [insert piano based artist from the 70s here]." And then this quote will haunt him for the next 3 years when it sounds nothing like that because he doesn't know what an album he hasn't made yet is going to sound like. :teehee:

    yup. exactly. :naughty::thumb_yello:

  7. I adore Aha)))

Well, Mika visited many countries that don`t welcome LGBT - he made gigs and saw his devoted audience there.

Things are not good here in RF, alas, but the real situation differs greatly from what foreign media write. A big part of the Russian society is against any fighting and discrimination. (Remember, Russia is the country that beat nazis in 1945).If you want the truth - ask someone who`s in Russia. Ask me.

Well there's homophobia and then there's actively regressing in your laws to seem to want to annihilate an entire community...

True there are many countries in the world where homosexuality is illegal (including here, though it's a long complicated story on how stupid it is that this still remains) and mika has visited some of them. but it can be argued that none of them, and in fact no industrialized country in this century, has made changes in their laws to actively make things *even worse* for the LGBT community. Feel free to correect me if I'm wrong, but I don't think even Lebanon, which has a reputation as anti-gay, criminalizes mentioning anything gay. I, as a member of a 'gay-rights' organization, won't think to visit Russia right now, and I'm happily married to a man, so I can only imagine how dangerous it would be for Mika...For starters, singing Billy Brown could land him in jail..

I'm glad to hear the majority of Russians are against discrimination, but sadly it doesn't help the actual LGBT persons who are being affected by these legal changes, including those who might have to face losing their children...Don't get me wrong, I would be very interested to hear your experiences, as a person on the ground, but I would be more willing to concede that the foreign media is getting it wrong if I can hear from a person in the LGBT Russian community that this is all being blown out of proportion, because at the end of the day, them, and their families are the ones being affected.

  8. The Russian 2-nd season of The Voice has just started , but our panel of judges has no international star, unfortunately. I wonder if Mika could accept an invitation for "The Voice" in Russia someday, after his Italian and French judging experience:mf_rosetinted: (I`m not sure we can afford it :aah:).

The money will be the least of the reasons he won't come to the Russian Voice :aah:

Seriously though, it's like every day I read of some new atrocity being perpetuated against the LGBT community in Russia... Sickening and frustrating :sneaky2:

  9. But put yourself in his shoes. You are not a 1 or a 6 either but you are in a committed relationship. Even taking sexuality out of the equation - what if your husband was paralyzed? Mika says he wants to have children while he's young and you don't have much choice. If you envision yourself having children ever in your life it will probably be with your current partner. Would you choose to sleep with another man when there is an easy option that doesn't involve sexual contact? Why upset your partner and risk damaging your relationship for no good reason?

Good points! I guess I was thinking more in abstract concepts of sexuality more than his *present* situation

I wrote a similar thing last year and posted it on my blog: http://ingridchant.blogspot.nl/2012/11/dear-future-me.html

I remember this ingie! Wished I had wrote one too.. Guess I'll have to wait til 35 :teehee:

  10. Come on Nas I've been telling you this forever. :teehee:

However I don't think it's necessarily true that he has never ever felt any attraction whatsoever. Maybe he has felt it/tried it/whatever but at this point in his life he knows there is no future in falling in love with and having babies with a woman.

I have never been one to subscibe to the theory that you can't help who you fall in love with. I think at some point you make a decision (conscious or otherwise) to sort of let yourself fall in love. I am certain I would never fall in love with a married or gay man for instance. I just wouldn't give myself permission to do that because I know it would lead to unhappiness. It has nothing to do with sexuality.

Should've listened to you Christine! :aah:

I agree with the bolded part..at least for me.. Some ppl can't help who they're attracted to and they confuse this with not being able to help who they fall in love with..

In any case I also never thought future (or present) mika could ever settle down or fall in love with a gal, I just never ruled out the possibility of him *sleeping* with one, if only for procreation...until now! :lmfao:

about the ''fall in love with anybody'' is not totally a lie, he just didn't specify at that time it could be with anybody male :mikacool:

and thanks for posting Alba :huglove:

and I hope those pretty curls stay in this head for a very long time :aah:

    :lmao: good point!!

  11. This is the best column he's done since the one on punchinello (hope I got that right), imo...

However...! Disappointed to see he thinks his older self won't have hooked up with a girl (even for a night! :aah:) this means he thinks he's a Kinsey 6 ( a person who is exclusively homosexual on the scale of sexual attraction - which is comparatively rare) which means that whole thing he used to say about being able to 'fall in love with anybody' was a total line of BS :aah:tsk tsk :shun:

Yesterday was the BEST gig I've ever been to. I'm still too emotional to write about it but will try to do a full report in a couple of days.

A HUGE, MASSIVE THANK YOU to Mika's teammates, the organizers and especialy IngievV who was an angel not to loose her mind during all that drama and stressful situation :huglove: and of course THANK YOU to Mika. He was so so so so happy last night, during the gig he was smiling even while he was singing, I've never seen him in such a good mood :wub2: And during the M & G he got a bit emotional, was thanking everyone a thousand times, chatted a lot and never got this huge, lovely smile off his face. :wub2:

It's a memory that's really worth keeping, so I've got a gift for all my MFC family. Thank You and I Love You :group_hug:
