Oh, even *i* know that song!
lovely childhood memories from when i was in italy with my dad once a year, mostly in lignano sabbiadoro. I couldn't have made the connection, but now that i read it here, yes, it's definitely there.
We are all taking a walk down memory lane.
This is kind of cute.

Well, interestingly, I was reading a music blog earlier today, which said that the writers of Talk About You were: Mika, Johan Carlsson, Ross Golan, Danio Farina, Enzo Ghinazzi, Daniele Pace, Michael Edwin Hawker and Ivor Raymond.
And if you look up who wrote Sara' perche' ti amo, the writers credited are: Danio Farina, Enzo Ghinazzi, Daniele Pace and Luis Gómez Escolar
So... I think Mika HAS borrowed from the old song, which was written in the '80s. Not like that has ever happened before.
This is apocalypse. I just played Talk about You for my husband to compare it with Sarà perchè ti amo and suddenly I've heard it. They sounds alike here and there, but especially in one line they are exactly the same
So I ran here to scream my disbelief and shout at you guys that pointed it out for me and I saw your post. Which of course made it worse for me.
Now I won't ever get rid of this thought!!!!
the verses but especially around second 17 and 32 and so on, THAT melody and this one:the verses but especially around second 30 and second 44 and so onI should have been wary when I liked the verses at the very first listen during that snippet weeks ago, I never like almost any song at first.
I'm not skilled enough to merge them, but please someone do it
(although I think it won't take long for italian radios or tv shows to notice it and do it)
My husband will mock me for centuries
Well, at least I have the same music taste that I used to have as I child. I'm consistent
Maybe this is why this single isn't available in Italy
EDIT: This is getting awkward. I published Talk about you on my facebook asking random people to say what it sounds like, and they immediately got it
-
Ooooh! This song is familiar from my childhood! It was very typical for that time to translate big Italian hits to Finnish
I guess I've heard it in Italy as well.
I need to show this to my husband. See? They were huge! He always mocks me for having loved them to bits when I was 6
-
I don't know anything about pop music but this single shamelessly reminds me of an Italian song my parents used to listen when I was a child in the 1980’s: Sarà perché ti amo (Ricchi e poveri).
I suppose this is why I like the verses so much.
That was my super favourite song as a child, but... I just can't think that Mika is the new Angelo Sotgiu
(anyway, anyone can check it here:

I just bought it on amazon.fr. It's also available at google play and itunes , but only in France for the moment sadly and I hope it becomes available worldwide very fast because that makes no sense and I feel bad that other fans have to wait for it
I don't get it as well.
But I'm pretty sure that the other fans don't have to wait. It's all over the place on the internet, it's not like they can't listen to it. They can't buy it, so you can feel bad for him who's not getting $ at the moment
-
Just listened to it all right now (I only heard half of it this afternoon) and the chorus is already growing annoying in my ears. Which is quite a problem since I really like the verses.
I'm picturing myself at a gig: singing and dancing and smiling - checking the phone - jumping and more singing - replying to some e-mails....
-
I think I like the not-chorus part

Would love to see this translated...
There it is:

I've seen it white and gold during the whole day and it suddenly turned to black and blue in the afternoon
YASSSSS!!!
Finally someone else who happened to see it first white and gold and then black and blue. I was afraid to have some terrible brain virus.
First time I saw it I was totally unaware of that colour issue and it appeared white and gold in a funny way, so I thought that something was wrong with my mobile. After a few secs it turned black and blue so it was definitely a connection issue or something
The second time it happened I was showing it to hubby and it was upside down, so I think that my brain was fooled and didn't recognize it as something it already decoded, but again it turned into black and blue within 2 secs.

Hi, here's a translation of what he said. (Most work is from Laura)
Thank you. did you...? who gave me the stick? ah, it's you. well... I don't see myself holding it in the streets.. no, I know, but if I do like this while walking...it's very funny, thank you so much and thank you for coming. I know that you all, some of you came from very far, from all over the place and I really appreciate it, it means a lot. it's so nice to see all your faces in this context. there's some people missing. aaah that's where you are. come, like, come through, there's a lot more room. come through. there you are. hi, how are you? nice to see you. ok, anyway, I just... I did... I see you in the audience, 'cause I can see quite clearly the audience here, and it's great, it gives me a great energy and you follow me in all these various adventures and I hope that the improbability of some of these adventures is exciting to you 'cause it certainly is to me, but I' m glad that the same group that goes to rock out and end up covered in mud and beer and also know how to scrub up and put on some nice jewelry and make up and be fancy with your pinkies out, ' cause that's actually everything that my music is, it's in between all those things and it's like.. it goes against anything that you're supposed to assume, the minute you assume one thing, it becomes something else and that goes with the production, that goes with the shows and the setting and everything and I think that I know, over the course of the years, that you guys see that and believe in that and are all in the same spirit and I thank you for your collaboration and your support, it means the world to me. and I know it doesn't come without much time invested, without much financial investment, it comes with a lot of investment in many different ways and I know what that takes, you know, and that makes it even more valuable, so thank you, very much. so you have to travel so far now to see concerts, but this is pretty ****ing cool and sorry if you don't understand english but someone will translate for you. I won't say it all over again and if you came late, it's like the concert, if you're late you stay out. when I went on stage I saw some empty seats and I thought "it's annoying, why are there empty seats?"
(he then replies to a girl who asked him whether he saw her in the audience waving her lollipop and said the first night she was right behind his mother. she says she had noticed his whole family before her and she couldn't breathe. he then says he would sign things if they wanted.)
How are you? I appreciate that very much but... yes, of course, thank you very much, it's really nice of you. So, you know, my candle is there, in my dressing room. - The "Santa Maria" or? - Yes, exactly, no, the Santa Maria cause it's certainly too strong for the dressing room. It's funny cause [...] I brought it with me [...]. So, we are taking a pic together and then I' ll say good night cause I need to take care of the sponsors. With concerts like this, it's something serious to do them, so we have to say thank you to the bank, thank you to the electricity power group guy, I have no idea

Ah, sorry, I didn't know they don't have a printable option! I haven't tried that site myself, just saw the link and thought it might work.
Maybe they have it and I'm too dumb to sort it out.
Or it's a smart ass trick to dissuade people from abroad to go to crash their festival
You know, Switzerland and its strict politics
-
I think they have a problem with foreign credit cards. I asked about it and they sent me this link:
http://www.ch.fnacspectacles.com/recherche/rechercheRapide.do?search=caribana
I tried that one but how can you choose to get a printable ticket? It's either getting it in a french store, or having it sent at my place, which costs 22 euros (no way!) cause even if I choose carte virtuelle, they charge the damned 22 euros....
-
Apparently they don't want me there.
"Your credit card was not charged. Your payment has been cancelled or refused. Possible explanations are:
- Mistake in data input (credit card number, expiry date)
- Bank refusal (credit limit reached)
- Temporary system unavailability"
My credit card is fine and I'm not typing the wrong data.
Someone had the same issue, but I don't know how they fixed it.

Such a great news
:boing:
Caribana is a small festival taking place very close to where the Paleo festival is (for the ones who came to Paleo and wants to have an idea of the place), which means very close to my place actually
.
I've never been there myself but always heard so many great comments about that festival, I'm really happy Mika is coming. Looks like even though Switzerland is a small country we are VERY lucky this year
I'll give you more infos about the festival as soon as I could
As if I'm not lucky enough, I have tickets to see Muse at sonisphere festival on saturday 6. The w-e is really going to be he best EVER for me
Woah, that's amazing for you. You're that close to have a private gig at your place
You better prep.
I'm wondering what to do, it's only a 2 hours drive from my place, but not sure I will be able to attend.... Do you guys think I will be able to sell my ticket if I won't?
Meanwhile I took a look at the price: it's 53 CHF which means 50 euros.
-
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that I 'know it all' or that my opinion is any more valuable that that of a newer fan.
It never crossed my mind. We're totally good. And you surely have more experience than us newbies.
-
I agree with everyone has posted lately, I appreciated very much your messages as they are really effective in pointing out what the deal is. This is why I can't really add something new but that:
I think that most of us who have been around Mikaland 'forever' are aware of of amount of work/stress and, as Christine said, personal sacrifice, Deb puts in.... For no personal gain. You old fans have seen plenty therefore you are 100% aware of what it takes to get and organize stuff for us fans. But I think that even newbies could have a bit of common sense and get to imagine some behind the scenes. I've been around for more than a year by now, not that much, but I do sense that it is not easy to obtain a proper M&G and I do imagine how energy and time consuming is to run a fanclub, not to mention stressful.
I think Deb is great at it, she does a lot and has the right balance of tolerance, perseverance, temperament, impartiality and some other plus that allow her doing the job, and doing it well. (I've meant to tell her that for quite a long time but didn't want to look like fawning, now I don't care). This is why I got outraged as well, learning that she didn't even get to say hi to Mika. If anything is unfair, THIS is it.
When it comes to meeting Mika in general, it's just like life: sometimes you earn it, sometimes it just happens, sometimes you deserve it but won't happen, despite what you've been through. I know what disappointment and frustration taste like, everyone of us does, but this is not a good reason to blame someone who already did so much for making something special happen. I missed the Swatch gig, cause I decided not to go after the Facebook announcement that told people not to go, so when I found out that many people I know got in, I felt bad and blamed Mika, his team, myself, fate. But I never blamed MFC. I am grateful to MFC, which means grateful to Deb and the mods and the people who actively contribute with providing pics, videos, interesting opinions, whatever.
First thing I've been said when I signed on MFC was "Do not expect anything. You go for a gig, expect a gig, you go for a tv show, expect a tv show. Good things may happen, but if you are doing something on the sole purpose to get to Mika, you will be disappointed." I stick to this advice and it has never been wrong.
I hope that we won't have such an argue again as meeting Mika will always be a quite random thing and we should all be aware of it.

still can't figure out the final lyrics
My friend Laura thinks he says "and I don't care about my eyes"
-
Soooo, anyone can post the full lyrics?
-
I'm sure you'll all get to hear the new songs, saw some filming tho it wasn't allowed.
YESSSS
I expected many of the songs I read in the setlist, but I'm happy to see there also was I Only Lov You When I'm Drunk. Too bad that I don't think anyone recorded it, since it's not a new one.
Come on guys, humour me now.

Popping out of my hideout to say that I'm digging what I've heard and saw in this snippet
*Back to the shadow. *
-
I noticed that detail and I like it very much

Can anyone do the translation, please?

Here we go. I took a quick tour on the internet and found out that people are already aware of that resemblance:
I still think it's funny. I'm so not over it yet.
