  1. I woke up and it's available on iTunes! I was totally in a shock!! Didn't know to expect it at all. What a beautiful, beautiful song. I love it so much :wub2: :wub2::wub2:

?? I don't see it? Why would they put it on iTunes?

Edit: No nevermind I can see it! And I can pre-order the album! No Place In Heaven, expected release on 12 June 2015

  2. This much stress is not good for you in the morning :aah: ... but I got my tickets for Amsterdam. :yay:

I hope everyone else was able to get the tickets they wanted.

And a special thank you for Deb for opening the thread ... it must have been in the middle of the night for you. You and everyone else who made this presale possible are amazing. Thank you all. :flowers2:

Got my tickets for Amsterdam as well! :yay: I was shaking, concert ticket stress is both terrible and exciting!

Yes, thank you Deb and everyone else involved for arranging everything and opening the thread in the middle of the night! :huglove:

  3. OK, to try to clear up some confusion, let me explain how this presale is SUPPOSED to work.

Tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. CET (9 a.m. UK time, 4 a.m. US Eastern time) I will open a thread here on Mika Fan Club in the "Members Only Exclusives" section HERE.

In that thread, I will post the link to the presale ticket site.

To see the thread, you must be a registered member of MFC, and you will need to log in.

On that presale page, you'll be able to buy tickets. I'm not sure if there is a limit on the number of tickets you can buy, but the last time we did this the limit was 4. I'm fairly certain you will only be able to purchase these tickets using a bank card or credit card -- I do not think they will accept Paypal.

I hope this helps you understand the process better.

Of course, I cannot guarantee that there will not be any problems -- it seems like something always goes wrong when we have these ticket sales. :naughty:

Thank you for explaining! I hope we all can get the tickets we want, good luck everyone tomorrow! :huglove:

  4. Hi Michaeeeel :bye:

I really liked the line "if I am crazy, that's what you made me" too, but because it reminded me of Ring Ring, actually. ("... say I drove you crazy, well, if I did you made me...") I have always loved that song. :wub2:

Staring at the Sun does really sound like Empire of the Sun, doesn't it? A little too much, IMO. But it might be the next single, but who knows? When I heard the other day that there was going to be a different single released for Italy I thought it could be either Good Guys or Staring, since he'd used them both in Italy already. But maybe it depends on how well Good Guys does in Italy. If it does well enough, maybe they'll release it as a single worldwide. :dunno:

I was also thinking about Ring Ring, but I thought it was me who was crazy for hearing that so I didn't say it :naughty: I love that line, and Ring Ring is such a jam and this song is too so it's great!

  5. It seems that music blogs all over, even outside of France and Italy, are picking up on the song:

This one says it will be available at all digital outlets on March 31, which makes sense for the US, at least -- our new music is usually released on Tuesdays:

Great! I read the Dutch one and he compared it to LICM and especially Grace Kelly and Relax as well, saying that this is the most serious candidate for a potential comeback. He also says that with these songs and his use of falsetto, Mika finds himself in an area between extremely catchy and terribly annoying, but let's not pay too much attention to that :naughty:

  6. Well, interestingly, I was reading a music blog earlier today, which said that the writers of Talk About You were: Mika, Johan Carlsson, Ross Golan, Danio Farina, Enzo Ghinazzi, Daniele Pace, Michael Edwin Hawker and Ivor Raymond.

And if you look up who wrote Sara' perche' ti amo, the writers credited are: Danio Farina, Enzo Ghinazzi, Daniele Pace and Luis Gómez Escolar

So... I think Mika HAS borrowed from the old song, which was written in the '80s. Not like that has ever happened before. :dunno:

    BTW, here's the blog: http://www.directlyrics.com/new-music-mika-talk-about-you-full-song-review-news.html

Good to read such a positive blog-entry! Thanks for posting!

  7. Well, he is quite popular here. At least all his gigs still sell out. And when he is on tv he is a trending topic usually. So I get it, it just needs to climb higher and the radio stations need to play it (I sent emails already:mf_rosetinted:)

Okay, I just felt like most fans are casual fans that don't go searching for information but will buy his stuff and concert tickets when they stumble across it. But apparently they're a lot more interested than that, which is good! Can't wait to hear it on the radio here for the first time :thumb_yello:

  8. I don't get it as well. :dunno:

But I'm pretty sure that the other fans don't have to wait. It's all over the place on the internet, it's not like they can't listen to it. They can't buy it, so you can feel bad for him who's not getting $ at the moment :biggrin2:

As I posted in the thread about the twitter/facebook updates etc., I could buy it on the Dutch iTunes as well! I think that you can buy it as long as you don't live in the UK. Maybe people from other countries can confirm if you can buy it? I had to search for it, it didn't show up when I searched for 'Mika' but it was the first song that showed up when I searched for 'Talk About You'. :thumb_yello:

So glad to have a high quality version, it sounds really good! Nice and loud :naughty:

  9. Yes, it's repetitive, but for me it's not any worse than Elle Me Dit. That just seems to be the formula for most 3-minute pop songs these days. I'm thinking, "shake it off, shake it off... shake it off, shake it off.." How many times does she sing that? And "clap along if you feel like a room without a roof... clap along if you feel that happiness is the truth... clap along if you feel..." That just goes on and on. You get the idea. It's still a good song, but more than a little repetitive. :naughty: Anyhow, the repetition doesn't bother me too much in this song. Not like it has in others. ("Oh, Doctor John, what am I doin'? what am I doin' wrong?" You're singing the same darn chorus over and over and over again, that's what you're doing wrong! :aah:)

As much as I would like another completely different song, something "edgier as you say," I don't think that's going to get Mika much radio play right now -- not until he re-establishes himself with audiences who have forgotten who he is/was. :dunno: That's why I'm hopeful for this one -- it has pretty broad appeal, IMO.

As a side note, I often find that the songs I dislike the most (like Shake It Off, see above!) are the ones that get stuck in my head the worst/longest. They don't call them "earworms" for nothing, I guess. :wink2:

I agree with everything! I think this is by far not the best Mika song (even though I do like it as a happy spring/summer song), but it's a potentially very good first single. You should listen to Taylor Swift's full album, Shake It Off is such a simple, repetitive song compared to the rest of the album, but it does SO WELL as a single. Of course, it's played a lot so that helps with people having it stuck in their heads, but I think that if people wouldn't have it stuck in their heads, it wouldn't be played a lot. I think it's a mutually reinforcing process (is that how you say it?).

  10. Just one more minor correction here -- it's "like NORMAL people do"

Otherwise, thanks for getting them online so quickly! :thumb_yello:

And for the record, I really love the song -- makes me smile and want to dance a bit. Happy to hear that it's so accessible, radio-friendly as you all have said. Might make a nice summer song! :wub2:

Haha oops! Thank you, I'll edit the post :thumb_yello:
