  1. I don't have the slightest idea, but Blue Eyes didn't even cross my mind, for sure, so it must be something else. Maybe Manon's right and I just remember it from Accès Illimité :dunno:

Edit: I think I got it. The falsetto sounds a lot like How Much Do You Love Me to me.

You were just ahead of me, I found How Much Do You Love Me as well :aah: I guess that has to be it, then

  2. Thanks guys for the lyrics! My favourite part's when he sings ''For all these things, another life I’ll have to wait''. I don't know why, but when I first listened to the song today, it sounded familiar. Did anyone have the same feeling?

I had the same feeling! Especially that "have to wait". But I thought it might be because I've heard that part in Accès Illimité an awful lot of times... I don't know :dunno:

  3. This is what I've got. Still some key things missing. Maybe people who were at the gig will have a clearer idea. I am hearing "sisters" in the opening verse but I am guessing it is something else to set up the story which I am assuming has to do with the man's wife (not anyone's sister)...?

    ..I know

He wants to drown his sorrows

    On (?) a two-seater sofa

And some whiskey in a bottle

Broken tears with the weight of the world on his shoulders

Oh my god ?, what's happened to your ?

Why ?? a two year old daughter

?? the poor girl with some idiot she met a couple months ago

I wish I could tell you that

If it was me I would be a good wife

    I would never doubt you

Ours would be a good life

We could be better than so many

    I would never stress you

    By bringing home the ?

For all these things another life will have to wait

    Life could be perfect

    If only god had wanted

    But we'll never know it

    We'll get old

    Let's not talk about it

Place your head upon my shoulder

You'll never know, you'll never know, you'll never know the good life

You'll never know the good life

You'll never know the good life

Somebody once told me that there are watchers and there are doers in this world

Guess I'm a watcher not by choice

    It's just what I was...

Just two friends it ain't a risky situation

I wish I could tell you that

If it was me I would be a good wife

    I would never doubt you

Ours would be a good life

We could be better than so many

    I would never stress you

You'll never know, you'll never know you'll never know the good life

You'll never know the good life

You'll never know the good life

Place your head upon my shoulder

Now that life's a little colder

    Even if you'll never know

    ?

    ?

For all these things another life will have to wait

    Life could be perfect

    If only god had wanted

    But we'll never know it

I was just typing lyrics that are very similar to this, only you've got more :wink2:

Guess I'm a watcher not by choice

    It's just what I deserve

We're just good friends it ain't a risky situation

    That's what I hear though.

  4. Found some vids over here: https://www.youtube.com/user/obi3wan/videos(don't know who's these are, but thanks)

And Paul de Leeuw was at the gig last night and asked Mika to be on his show when in the Netherlands!!!

Really? :o Does he still have a show though :aah: (what do you mean, I never watch tv)

I usually hate Paul de Leeuw though... He's nice with Mika but I don't like him in general :/

Thanks for the videos and reports of this gig! :)

  5. I have only heard the Australian entry beside the Dutch one, since it's on the radio here a lot! But I kind of like hearing them for the first time on the actual Eurovision nights.

I'm extremely annoyed by our own entry though (fyi we weren't allowed to choose it either), I hear it everywhere and I just keep thinking: Why. Why-y-y-y.

  6. The music industry has changed since MIKA entered it in 2007.  It's not very easy to earn a lot of money, by selling records, anymore.  The artists need to find other arenas to get their money, and it's totally normal to get sponsors!  Imo, MIKA has become more of a business man the last years :wink2:   He knows his market value, and he uses it.   What's wrong with that?!  I think most of the artists, both in the music industry and the sports market,  do the same, if they get the right opportunity -  and I don't think they loose their artistic integrity because of that!!  It's the product they deliver that counts, if it's music albums, concerts or sporty results! :)   When it comes to the car in the video, I think it's wise to use a BMW i3, because it's an electric one, good for the environment.  I think MIKA would be more kind to the streets of London, by driving such a little genious, than the old one he has used since he got his lisence :naughty:

Anyway - what counts to me,  is that MIKA continues to make good music, and it really looks like he does!   I'm very excited to get a full album 15th June... :fisch:

    Love,love

    me

Indeed. Any artist that wants to be big right now is commercial. They do commercials and use product placement, I'm afraid that it's just the way that the music industry has changed over the years. It changes fast, this is indeed something that can come up in five years. In 2007, product placement wasn't big. Now, everyone does it. Yes, it's to get money, but it's also to get known. Those companies can now mention his music, his video, and distribute it to their audiences.

At least it's not like Avril Lavigne, who started her video for Rock 'n Roll with: "Oh, my new Sony phone is ringing," while continuing to pull it out of a glass of water to demonstrate how water-proof that phone is.

By the way, I don't understand how he suddenly lost his 'artistic integrity' either.

  7. I guess every video so far divided fans on two totally opposite sides. :teehee:

He is walking through the city. That's what the song says. :fisch: It so visually two dimensional and beautifully ironic. Looks like old cartoons.

It's the direct connection with the design of the album so the album is going to be recognizable at first sight. That is if he promotes this video enough.

Indeed, it's rather interesting to see how divided the opinions are! People either love the video for the colours and the fun, and happiness.. Or hate it because it's too simple, too much product-placement, too cheaply made. I'm definitely on the love-side, although I cringed at the car scene. But it makes me happy and, like I said before, since the song itself doesn't have deep lyrics, I wasn't expecting anything deep and meaningful in the video. I love how he's able to do things like Last Party video (which I love as well) and this. Both things are so him.

But the dance moves still are ridiculous :teehee:

  8. I don't mind the "obvious product placement" at all :) The Valentino suits are colorful and beautiful, so is the Swatch watch - and the tough, small, red car - which seems too tight for MIKAs tall body  :naughty:

These product brands might all be his sponsors for his new tour, for all we know...  :wink2:

Imo, the video is catchy, colorful and happy - and the lyric of TAY isn't too deep anyway - isn't it just about walking around in the city, crazy in love, with the need of "talk about you" !?  :teehee:

I hope TAY will be a real summerhit!!

    Love,love

    me

Those were my thoughts exactly - what story did TAY have, anyway? It's not too much of a story. It's just a feel-good summer love song and I definitely hope that now it will get the attention it deserves!
