BONUS blind auditions of February 3, 2018

In 2007, Mika landed in the heart of the French with a first successful album entitled "Life in Cartoon Motion", in which appears one of the flagship songs of the artist, "Grace Kelly". Exclusively for MYTF1, the coach of The Voice returns to this single that marked his career.

Mika is only 24 years old when he knows the real success with a first album entitled "Life in Cartoon Motion", released in 2007. The single "Grace Kelly" from this opus is a huge success. Written and performed by Mika, this song is a true satire denouncing the difficulties associated with showbiz. Because if Mika is now a recognized artist, the British-Lebanese singer has struggled to find his place in the art world. Faced with the refusal of the labels, the interpreter then had the idea of this song by quoting Grace Kelly, a figure who counted a lot in the life of Mika: "My grandmother when she arrives in the United States, is at a party, she is 17 years old, she does not speak English, she does not understand anything and she cries. And there is a woman next to her, so told the interpreter of "Relax". From that moment, it became a mythical symbol of our family. "

In this song, Mika also took the voice of Grace Kelly, because "he did not have the rights" to integrate the true voice of the princess of Monaco: "I invented a fake script, and I accelerated the voice slightly to have more the stamp of a woman. The clip was shot in an apartment setting: "This is a big studio that was decorated with curtains, furniture ... My mother went to a Lebanese caterer and she brought back trays and trays ... It's all my friends and my family. "

    Spoiler

She received a standing ovation from the audience of "The Voice" on Saturday, February 3 for her performance of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. But Mennel Ibtissem, 22, has not only attracted attention for his performance. After the show was broadcast, some Internet users searched the singer's previous publications on social networks. Facebook posts, deleted since then, in which she spoke after the attacks in Nice and Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray (Seine-Maritime) in July 2016.

After the one on the Promenade des Anglais on July 14,2016, she stated that "it has become a routine, one attack a week. And always to remain faithful, the "terrorist" takes his identity papers with him." Adding,"It's true that when you're planning a nasty coup, you don't forget to take your papers # Take UsForCons." Two weeks later, after the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray bombing, she harassed:"The real terrorists are our government."

Faced with these conspirators' comments, reactions quickly flowed in. Valérie Boyer, MP Les Républicains des Bouches-du-Rhône, denounced on Twitter the content of these messages, outraged at the fact that the candidate was wearing the veil on the remote-control platform. Françoise Laborde, a former member of the Higher Audiovisual Council, also reacted, as did Philippe Vardon, regional counsellor of the National Front in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d' Azur region, who evoked "a real insult to the victims of the Nice Islamist attack".
    The harm is done

Mennel Ibtissem then wished to clarify his position." I am credited with intentions that are not mine. (...) I love France. Of course, I strongly condemn terrorism. (...) I understand that these messages are shocking and I apologize for that,"she said in particular on social networks.

But the damage is done. Maybe to the point of jeopardizing the rest of his career. In a press release of 6 February, the victims' association Promenade des anges called for TF1's "responsibility". When asked, the station says it's too early to answer questions about Mennel's eventual departure and the impact it would have on the show." We discuss with Mennel this complex situation, which is incompatible with the need for immediate social networks. We take the time for reflection ", says ITV Studios France, producer of" The Voice ". Last night at the RTL microphone, Mennel Ibtissem already confided his disappointment to the idea of having to leave the programme.

After the decision, it will be time for questions. If sanctioned, how do I delete a person from the recordings? In November 2017, after charges of rape against Gilbert Rozon, M6 managed to modify the editing of "Un incroyable talent", a show for which he was a member of the jury. But for a candidate, the task may be more complicated. In the future, channels will also be faced with the question of setting up personality surveys on participants in order to avoid this kind of controversy.

  4. It's really a big buzz on national TV channels this morning to see if and how to eliminate it from The Voice!

The problem for her is not to win or not win this program because the result was not sure; but for her future teaching career. With such a liability, it might be difficult for her.

That's how even teenage "nonsense" gets paid for itself one day.

The problem is that she is involved in some political movement and doing propaganda for Islam, from what I understand. She did some very harsh declarations about the terrorist attack in Nice, and published a song about Palestine on YT. Maybe some French fans couls tell more.

That's what you said in the French press. TF1 would have closed his tweeter account and opened an official artist account for her.
But to begin with, I feel compromised for his future career.

Besides, it might be awkward for Mika.

  6. I think it's normal from time to time to reward early fans for their assiduity.
Mika is grateful to them for their loyalty and for what they have done for him in many areas in many countries.
It's like an exchange of gifts between them and Mika's teams. Everyone can recognize him, even if it hurts.

It is unfortunate to use others to achieve one's ends, but it is seen everywhere, even in the world of work.
Just because you become a fan of Mika doesn't automatically improve your personality; otherwise it would be the world of Bisounours and not Mika!

To become kind, grateful and selfless, you have to want and work on it.

Nothing to do with changing the forum, but I just remembered this post

How many forum members does it take to change a light bulb?

      Hide contents

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.

53 to flame the spell checkers.

    41 to correct spelling/grammar flames.

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"...another 6 to condemn those 6 as -retentive

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".

15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct.

56 to email the participant's ISPs complaining that they are in violation of their "acceptable use policy".

19 to post that this group is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb group

23 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum, and lightbulb group about changing light bulbs be stopped.

11 to defend the posting to this group saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this group.

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty.

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

14 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's.

3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group.

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

19 to quote the "Me too's" to say "Me three".

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ.

44 to ask what is a "FAQ".

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs".

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again....

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

    Me too!

You're really not afraid to post this kind of thing, it's so tempting to answer it all over again! :biggrin2:

  8. The reputation problems of forums are everywhere on social networks. I read it for MFC, Italia FC and the Forum Mika France as well.
And always with the same reproaches: favoritism for old members, jealousy of the new ones who have the impression that Mika is guarded and feel deprived of her presence, bad words between members...

There may be some truth to it, but maybe it's just a feeling or a state of mind.

When I see what's going on with Mika who is himself the "IDOLE".
If he doesn't post, he is criticized saying that he could think of his fans; when he posts, we tell him that he should go to the studio or play concerts; when he does concerts, we say that he should go to other countries as well...

Maybe humans are just grouchy nature! :fisch:

    Hi :bye:

Just reacting to "autotranslating depending on where you live" It would have to be optional. Autotranslating is something that must be used with caution as it's not always accurate nor always needed but for people who already use google translation for MFC it might come in handy.

Indeed the old calendar stuff is still there.

If archiving old threads leads to being unable to find them with google search, it would be a catastrophy....MFC build in engines were always inaccurate and the new version doesn't allow tagging so if you don't know/remember the original tags it's almost impossible to find threads.

If archiving old threads doesn't make them harder to find and read it's not a problem though.

It would be great for newbies and everyone else to have a sticky post with links to most useful threads. But anyone who spends a bit of time here learns to find their way...and asking for help is also the best way to make friends here :thumb_yello:

I use a fairly faithful online translator, and I find that asking for help is actually much more effective than searching for hours.

I've been registered here for a several months and still have a lot of trouble finding what I want, but I learn something new every week, that's good!

For the archiving I find that to make it a thread in its own right would be nice.

It's true that this forum is a huge machine, but it's really fine, since it retraces Mika's "career" and the reactions of her fans over the years (He could almost make his book just by copying pages from here!). :lmfao:

A question I'm wondering about the pictures that have disappeared from all the forums I've been able to visit after the image hosts stopped: Would it be possible to host them differently to avoid further losses in the future?

When you get to a certain point in your life, and you are no longer struggling in so many ways (although always in your soul) what do you write about?  I don't know the answer to this for Mika but I will be curious to see the answer.  Maybe back to more storytelling about other people.  But mature work is less driven by the depth of feeling -  the anger, the yearning, the frustration, the alienation - than when you are young and need so much to let out those feelings.   Especially if life has been kind to you.  Of course, if his life comes apart at the seams and he has an early mid life crisis it's a different story.

Also, for someone who is broadly creative, it makes sense for them to branch out.  And he seems to like to be busy busy busy.  A musical?  I could take twelve of his songs, create a story and a book, and drop them right in now.  A movie?  Why do you think that bit about the time travel was in Casa Mika?  I don't think it was enough of a story or characters to be a film yet, but I do think it was a test run.  Also, he could easily produce a project if he thought it was right for him.  A project about Gregory?  I would adore it.  More than a time travel project. A project about Lebanon?  Really,  can't you guys think so?  I don't think he will stop doing music, but it takes years between songs to live enough to have material unless you are looking back.  He is young for that.

I spent years in the film industry as a story consultant etc and it was my job to catch things before anyone else.  You had to follow your instincts.  So I am doing that now.   I could be wrong.  But I still bet I am not.

I also want him to do music.   But your passion is deeper than mine.  I just want him to do Something.

Ah, documentaries.  Another great idea.  As is teaching.  What an excellent instructor he would be.  I would LOVE to take  songwriting workshop with him.  Or even see him do an in depth lecture.  Someone stop me.  I am making myself dizzy.

Thank you for all this! :wub2:
It's nice to see someone from the arts community develop these realistic arguments!
That's also what I thought, even if only from a musical point of view, after having gone through his childhood and adolescence, it was time to find something to fill a mature album.
