I'm really in love with the music video, it fits the song so well! I wasn't really expecting a story telling video anyway, I had a feeling it would be somewhat calm and not done in an over the top way. Even with the falls (intentional or not) there's an elegance running through the whole video. I love how at the start it's as though Mika is his awkward self and has to use the ice bear to take control (and at about 36 seconds in I love the shadow affect of the dancers!), but then the dancers appear around him and he's suddenly this more confident person showing another side of him when he changes into that gorgeous jacket! And the final change when he's in the green glitter suit, he's alone again but clearly more himself. Especially standing on the resurfacing machine (the man just can't help himself can he?! 😆), he's free!
Now with the video to accompany the song it evokes a whole new aspect of self confidence and it's just perfect!

It was rather an odd dream that Mika appeared in for me last night.
I was coming home from town and when I opened my front door I noticed I had some mail and just as I was about to pick it up from the mat, Mika gave me a shock when he said "read my letter first!", I was quite surprised to find Mika in my house! He was wearing the yellow/green suit for The Voice too. We sat on the sofa together and Mika was like an excited school boy watching me open his letter, he was so happy!
His letter to me was 4 pages long and mostly about the meanings behind the songs on QTTFT, he'd done a few doodles and drawings to represent the songs too. The last page of the letter was about why he liked me and he wanted to be my friend (Awww
), he complimented me on my singing too (yet I didn't sing in the dream). At the end of the letter it said "I have something to give you", there wasn't anything attached to the letter but Mika said his gift was in his pocket. He gave me two tickets, but they didn't really have anything on them. He explained that these tickets could be used for any of his future UK gigs!
I thanked him for the tickets and hugged him. Mika then said he didn't really like the pajamas I had on, he was confused as to why I was wearing Christmas pajamas when it wasn't Christmas...
Yeah I was confused as to why I was wearing pajamas in the first place, and how exactly did Mika get into my home?... 🤔
I guess I'll have to get back into this dream to find out more! 😆

Oh I know that, stopped watching it years ago when the novelty had well and truly worn off. The so called "celebrities" tend to do it for their own promotional needs rather than anything meaningful. Much the same with any celeb reality show...
(Bake Off being the exception of course!).

Watched Big Fish today, still found it quite sad, but now as an adult I can at least understand some of the meanings within the story now. I don't think I could bring myself to watch it again though, seeing it now is enough for me. I can understand why Mika would like it though, I imagine some elements might have inspired his song writing (Lady Jane comes to mind), and Mika himself is guilty of exaggerating the truth now and then!

Just got round to listening to Gabriel's rendition of OMS, and I don't often say this about other people singing Mika covers but MY WORD THAT WAS STUNNING!
That boy sure can sing! It will be interesting to see how far he goes in the competition!
I will always prefer Mika's version (obviously) but Gabriel really added something else to that!

Such a shame Mika didn't win! Hopefully he will go on to do more film scores.
Had another search to see if Zodi will be released in the UK and came across this voice actress' website, Ruth Urquhart. Here in her news section she mentions being the dub voice for Zodi's mum, this is from Feb 2023 though, but it does sound promising!

Not sure if this is too interesting but Zodi is also on this list of films on Quick Look Films which is a US based site (there's no release information though). It's in alphabetical order so Zodi is way at the bottom btw!
