Haha, I love his stories! He really needs to go into detail at some point about what his body did at Eurovision, he mentioned it 2 or 3 times now but the interviewers never let him tell more about it.
Might be for the best... if it's nerves, it could involve copious trips to the bathroom. 🙈

Not heard of them before today. Looking online, there's one in London! I wonder if he knows... 🤔
2 hours ago, mellody said:And what's that other café he mentioned (besides cat cafés), the one where he doesn't want to go?
Pug cafe, with cute but very snorty dogs. Not great in a food environment.
2 hours ago, mellody said:The interviews are always way too short, I'd have loved to hear more about what he's planning for his tour, his dogs, his Eurovision experience, backstage insights about The Piano, etc.
He'd have to schedule the whole day for that.
And we'd love it!

I often have trouble following conversations at a table, if it's not directly the people sitting next to me. Guess my brain isn't too good at filtering out distracting sounds.
I have this too! I find it difficult to discern specific speech if there's too much background babble. It's like my ears want to listen to everything at once, so my brain can't focus.

It's tempting, but 1500 euros is a lot of money. Too much money to spend and then not even manage to talk to Mika and be disappointed.
True. I doubt he'd expect fans to be in attendance too.

People don't pay less if they don't sit at a table with Mika.
You're thinking about it, aren't you?

Nice, soothing, a bit reserved, let the guests speak... all the hallmarks of a classic BBC presenter. Is he laying groundwork for later opportunities? A full series of Mika explaining music history and its different genres please!!
(But not before the album and tour. That's a winter project. )

This is making me wonder though... should we include all the music as merch, or should we make a separate thread for all the different versions of things? I know a long time ago we started a discography, which I'm sure has fallen way out of date by now, but maybe we could do it again, using all these images as well?
I think a separate discography thread for all the music is a good idea. People looking for music info might not be interested in general merch.
There's a lot on here already:

Isn`t that the outfit that caused problems at the UK gig...?
Yep. Must have had them taken in. Or he's wearing a better belt and braces.

Also: Mika making sure Vianney’s tea is just right while playing the xylophone just kills me!!
Yes! Multitasking holds no fears for him.

Oops, 2nd photo in TBWKTM era is from OOL era.
This really is amazing, thank you Deb.

Wow Deb, this is brilliant, thank you!
I had no idea one simple question would create so much work, sorry about that! So interesting to see the items together and the progression through time. And I now want a few more things...

I don't think Mika would request that, he surely would prefer more people. Maybe it's necessary for security reasons, as Mika isn't just some random piano artist but an international pop star, so the organizers don't know what to expect...
Maybe they can even let more people in on the day... I won't take the risk, but for those who live nearby it might be an option.
He's done intimate gigs before though, hasn't he? I thought he quite liked them. But yes I agree, it seems likely that the organisers are playing safe.
-
I wonder why it's restricted to 200 people? Would that be up to the organisers, or at Mika's request if he feels it better for the type of show he will give?
-
I've kind of decided not to go to this one, as much as I'd love to be there, it's pretty much impossible with leave at the minute.
But just 200 tickets? Wow that's going to be a nice intimate concert. I hope everyone who does go has a ball (I'm sure you will!).
Hmm... what are the acoustics like at the castle? And scope for hanging around outside the castle walls, or a nearby hill/rooftop bar?

The one nearest to the camera: I would say butterfly? The one near his collar is a mystery to me!Oh I hadn't even spotted the butterfly one! Good catch! Butterfly or a heart, can't tell. But, it also looks digitized. Maybe the shirt is covered with logos from the YoYo video?

Well, my bank holiday weekend was spent dealing with really big spiders and unexpected ants. In the living room. Ugh.
Hope yours went better!

Can anyone make out the little logo on his shirt? Not the anchor, the one near the camera. It looks digitized like an old 8bit game character. Or like the YoYo lyrics video.

I now see a correlation between his obsession with the Miguel filter and his own capacity of growing upper lip hair.
Only now? It wasn't obvious?

Ok, seeing Mika's face yesterday vs. today, I think we have the answer what he's doing all the time when he's missing - he must spend half of his time shaving!
57 minutes ago, TinyLove_CJ said:Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he say in an interview once that he has to shave at least every other day? 🤔
And yet he can't grow an acceptable moustache (thankfully).

I ... umm... nope, it's nearly bedtime, far too late for NC shenanigans.

So THAT'S how he did the Two Hearts track! I mean, I know that's how he did it, but I couldn't imagine it, I've never seen him do anything like that. Oh, j'adore!

He's certainly got brighter, more colourful and welcoming homes in Miami and Florence. Maybe it's the contrast that appeals? It's very classic London in style. With the neutral colours, squared angles and darker artwork it reminds me a bit of his old place in London (well, the bit I saw in a magazine interview).
I'm a relatively new fan, but it seems to me that he's always had this juxtaposition, the love of colourful quirky characterful things (maybe linking back to the Lebanese bubble his mother created around them), and a love of more classic, muted, masculine lines and environments. Albeit with a punk nod.
