If the fisherman’s forecast sounded like that I would listen to it every dayI believe part of the intro is also a fisherman’s forecast, you’re right. That is new! But what he is especially referencing to in previous gigs (was it Versailles? I will have to rewatch it) is the monotone way he starts signing the song. Like a forecast.
That, and how everyone listens to it for guidance, so how cool if the forecast was "everybody's going to love today".

Just a random information.
When we are waiting for Mika concerts they play some songs.
One of them is this Mashrou Leila song. I've heard it already several times but I was not 100% sure.
I love this song and it sounded like Mashrou Leila.
@Prisca checked it in Chieti with an application recognizing songs.
So here it is.
And a video with musicians.
I knew it straight away, it's been on my regular playlist since Mika introduced us to it on one of his mixes.

Ohh guys I have just realized! Is that new intro to love today a reference to the version in Versailles?
Where he talked about that radio weather forecast for fishers thing?Still not really sure what this is all about tbh but it looks like he picked up that same idea again which is cool
The Shipping Forecast. Yes, we were discussing it in another thread. You can hear him reading parts of it out.

Ok, I can't get those other dresses delivered in time (plus some dodgy reviews for their returns policy). So I've just bought this, will get it Saturday. Hope it fits!

This time I hear someone talk English.
Me too, although to my ears he sounds American.

Anyone else googling restaurants with fantastic cheese boards in the Cote d'Azur? No? Ok, me neither...

And again! No doubt, the man loves his cheeses.

Hi, all.
Just wanted to remind you that technically, legally, we are not allowed to sell tickets through this forum. This is why we discourage you from including a price, from saying that you're "selling" your tickets. You can offer that you have spare tickets, or say that you're looking for spare tickets, or that you have a ticket you can't use... and then make your arrangements for obtaining or disposing of the tickets privately.
I know it sounds like a picky thing, but I don't want any of us to get into any legal trouble because of the appearance that you or we are selling tickets here.
Thanks!
Oops, I wasn't aware of that! Thanks Deb!

is there a path next to the street or would I have to walk ON the street?
You might be able to see this in Google Street view, it could be worth checking your route. I had a nice walk past the lakes in it.

I was looking for one, but couldn't find any short ones I like
Same, most of the short ones I've seen are tarty, not "chic and elegant".

Seeing the current temperatures, I would personally go for a cocktail dress. But that is just me (and I am not even going! )🥺 🫂
You're right, it needs to be cool. But I was thinking more about tripping over the hemline. I'm clumsy enough as it is!

Do you think we'll be getting up to dance? I'm just wondering if an ankle length or hi/lo hem might be more practical than a full length gown. 🤔

So we all know what Prisca will be wearing, but how about the others? I bought a long purple dress a few months ago, but I think it might be too warm. So I ordered this one yesterday
I'm just always wary about clothes from the internet, because I can't try it on before buying - they say the fabric is Chiffon, which should be light and fluffy, but if it doesn't feel good or if it doesn't fit, I'll send it back. Fingers crossed, because I really like how it looks on that photo.
OMG Karin that's gorgeous. It'll look great on you.
I know what you mean about buying from the internet, I much prefer being able to feel and try on first. Unfortunately most shops round me that sold dresses like that have closed down, so I don't think I have a choice!

During the intro I wondered if he was talking like that weather radio program that talked about sea winds or something like that (from second 30 to 40 more or less). Did I recognise it well?
I think he talked about it during the Versailles gig but can’t rewatch it nowThat's exactly right. It's from the Shipping Forecast.

Pre-intro (do we know what song that is?)
It's "Duck and Cover" featuring Bert the turtle. The cartoon was shown to children in the early 1950s during the cold war.
He seems to enjoy throwing us off guard with the old songs.

They're not bad at all! And this one looks very professional 😍
Did you make any video outsite the venue when he was there? I see you were almost behind where I was (or in the "2 meters drop behind me" )
Thank you! I'm sorry I didn't take any video - I hope someone has it for you.

Aww thanks! I can see myself there I told him I didn’t have anything for him to sign, but that “we were just hanging out here” (we kind of were!) “but it’s a 2 meter drop behind us” and he said “welcome to my life “So it’s not a 2 meter drop, but to me it certainly looks like it, I’m really really short!
I saw you on there. I was happy because I was able to give him a little gift I'd bought for him in town. He looked me in the eye and said thank you. Well actually he said grazie, because for some strange reason my brain thought "you're in Italy, speak Italian" and I stumbled out a "per te"...

I'd love to see it back, but I worry how they will do it now that people know the format. They no longer have the element of surprise, and if people 'audition' they won't be so much their natural selves, which was part of the appeal and made it stand out from the usual talent shows.
But it would be great to see Mika back on screen, he has a natural talent for it. ❤️
