  1. I am still on the fence about whether calling someone your sweetie banana in that situation is very cute or just mildly passive-aggressive.
  2. I agree, it seems like they were quite strict (which is not necessarily a bad thing, at least I personally did not take notice of any rude or unjustified behaviour or comment by a member of the staff/security). The way your friend was treated is unacceptable though, I am sorry to hear this. Of course they can ask you to move away in this situation, but there is no reason to be rude and reproachful right-away.
  3. Thank you to everyone who posted their pictures, videos and impressions. It was my first Mika gig, so I filmed very little and fully enjoyed not seeing him on a small screen for once. I've been to a lot of concerts before, but the atmosphere here was simply stunning. Such a burst of colours and energy, I enjoyed every second of it - and we at least got Jane Birkin, yay! I would have appreciated more French songs from the new album, but in the end I am just very happy with how things went and grateful for hearing so many of the "classics" live for the first time. Already super excited to attend more gigs in the future. It was also lovely to meet so many other fans from all across Europe before the show, that made queuing much more fun. Thank you as well to the MFCers who organized the queuing/numbering system. I actually have a question to those of you who attended several gigs of this tour: Did you notice similar sound issues in Berlin as in Amsterdam or Brussels? The sound quality in Berlin seemed fine to me, but then again I might not be able to judge this without comparison. I personally liked the venue (friendly staff, quick security check and great location). Would be interesting to hear what you thought about it and how it compares to other venues of the tour.
  4. Love this thought. It hadn’t crossed my mind, but this could have influenced the song choice of course. The songs I mentioned still don’t really fit the AC concept for me, but I like the idea that he might pick individual songs with a nod to the city or country. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Rio in Berlin then (I know, I know … not going to happen )
  5. I am so with you on that. As I just said in another thread, I am not too happy about the setlist changes in Amsterdam (and then presumably in Berlin too). Would love to hear songs from QTTFT. Is it possible that he'll actually "take requests" from our signs and spontaneously sing more French songs if they were not sound-checked in this specific venue? You are absolutely right, we'd have to keep it friendly and not harsh. I love "Bonjour à Berlin". Maybe also simple, positive things like "We love your French songs", "Please sing in French for us", etc. The JB fan action sounds good too.
  6. I absolutely agree with you all. As a rather new German fan, I am ofc excited to hear a lot of the classics as I've never heard them live before. And I'm sure it's going to be an amazing concert, regardless of the exact setlist. Nevertheless, I must admit I don't understand the Amsterdam setlist ... It really seems like he and his team might underestimate the audiences in non-French speaking countries. It was promoted as a tour for his new French album, so surely many people who bought tickets knew that there would be at least 4-5 French songs (even if they don't necessarily understand the language), especially as AC is the name of the entire international tour... Even if he wanted to drop the French songs altogether, several lesser known English songs come to mind that would fit in very nicely with the overall theme of "Club Apocalypso" as some of you already said (Last Party, Tomorrow, Promiseland, maybe even Overrated and Who's gonna love me now?). Happy Ending, Any Other World and Love Today are excellent choices in this context, but Rain, Billy Brown or Lollipop seem less on topic imo. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the show and just hope he feels comfortable with whatever songs he picks.
  7. Always nice to (e-)meet like-minded people! And great idea with the jar, don't we all need one? Thank you - yes, a peony indeed!
  8. Yes, I will! In Berlin.
  9. Thank you everyone for the kind words.
  10. Hello, Salut and Ciao everyone! I am Kat (/MissMagpie), a music and language enthusiast from Germany, and only recently became part of the Mika fan world (I am very late to the party, I know ...). My journey has been very similar to that of several other members: I've re-discovered Mika's music through Eurovision and realized that I used to love his music when I was younger. I tumbled down the rabbit hole and ended up here. Lovely to meet you all. Mika's music became an important part of my daily life and I also fell in love with a few of his lesser known gems such as Good Gone Girl, Make you Happy, Rio, J'ai pas envie, Blue ... It's nice to have found a place where people know these songs without a Google search. Thank you so much for this platform and all the interesting content. x
