British pop singer/songwriter Mika [ tickets ] will land on North American shores again in January as he continues to support his hot-selling debut album.

The Lebanon-born singer, who currently bases himself out of London, kicks off his American trek Jan. 28 in Montreal, with 12 shows planned through the middle of February. Dates are below.

Mika--whose real name is Mica Penniman--has risen in just over a year from obscurity to become one of Europe's top-charting artists. His debut album, "Life in Cartoon Motion," debuted at No. 1 on the UK sales charts, and has moved more than four million copies since its release in February, including sales of over 200,000 in the US.

The set was produced and mixed by Greg Wells (Deftones, Rufus Wainwright) in Los Angeles, with additional production work by Jodi Marr and John Merchant. The disc spawned six singles in the UK, with "Grace Kelly" claiming the top spot on the UK singles chart for five weeks last January.

Another single from the album, "Love Today," received a Grammy nomination earlier this month in the Best Dance Recording category.
