Pam Travers Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 we all know some of his tastes here and he once said that he always took like an hour and a half to visit places he were going to...an hour and a half is not a lot, maybe we could put here some nice places he might like and visit when he comes around your place or when he goes somewhere you know there is sthg cool for him to visit there....like designers shops, toys shops, art shops, chicken shops etc. anyway you get the idea... That's about all this state has to offer... or maybe the library that's half in the US half in Canada or the radio station that's painted like a cow and has a fake cow out front. And when I went, her head was closed off. That place was like a giant maze. Or The Liberty Science Museum. May sound boring, but it's freaking awesome! If only Discovery Zone was still around. Mika is my hero Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 Discovery Zone!!! I loved that place! I had my birthday party there when i was 6! Awhh. I miss it. If Mika ever came to Chicago, he should wander around and window shop down Michicgan Ave, then head to the Museum of Science and Industry, walk around for a bit, and at night go to a Chicago Symphony concert at Millenium Park. kk448 Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 Oh my gosh. Discovery Zone was the coolest place to go when I younger! I always had my birthday parties there! I remember doing that Men in Black laser tag and then there was zip line thing that you rode on and then fell into a thing of plastic balls. You were suppose to let go, but I would always hit that big padded wall on purpose though. Anyway, there's not much to do in my town. We have a festival thing at the end of July that's pretty cool. Satya82 Posted February 22, 2008 Share Posted February 22, 2008 Well let's see...in Michigan there's the Tulip Festival every spring in Holland, MI, and Travese City is totally awesome--by the water, and known for their cherries. There's a cherry festival there every summer. (Whenever cherries are in season, lol.) And one of the coolest places in Michigan is actually Mackinac Island, where no cars are allowed, but there's a Lilac Festival every spring (apparently we're into festivals) and it's GORGEOUS and kind of like you stepped back in time. B&Bs, the famous Mackinac Island fudge, horse-drawn carriage rides, bike rides around the island (8 miles--I did it once) and lots of weddings happen on Mackinac Island every summer. http://www.mackinacisland.org/ Some photos: Lots of horse-drawn carriages. And no cars. The Grand Hotel, which is HUGE (very fancy) and supposedly haunted: They also have a phenomenal afternoon tea. Plus, the Sleeping Bear Dunes are pretty cool. Lots of rolling down sand dunes, and getting sand in your shoes but it's beautiful! Um...and in the fall we have awesome cider mills and apple orchards and gorgeous fall leaves and pumpkin patches. I always got myself lost in there! haha The zip line thing was my favorite! there were no balls to fall into, just a giant mat. Which hurt, but I always ran back up to go on it again. Mika should visit the Jersey Shore. The boardwalk is fun but trashy. And he should go on these giant trampolines in the ocean that you jump off of. So much fun! I usually have wrestling matches and everyone tries to knock each other off the trampolines. I know you don't like fish or oceans, neither do I, but this is a lot of fun! (And if you can jet ski you can do this, buddy). And then he can go to South Jersey and hunt for the Jersey Devil. Heck, I'll be happy to escort him to some interesting Weird New Jersey places. Toronto--Cn tower, harbour front, amazing shopping facilities, Muskokas a deffinite yes. Saskatchewan is fantastical. Quebec city is the most gorgey porgey place on earth. come to my town and we have something special [and no, not just me ] Uhm in toronto again--probably the island, younge street for sures, EATON CENTRE, come see the national ballet perform the nutcracker at the national ballet centre, uhm Sherway Gardens, Medieval times, WONDERLAND FO SHOZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, Go see plays at the royal Alexandra [harr] or the Hummingbird centre I could go on about my fantastical country.
