MIKA @ Le Poisson Rouge | New York City, USA

You know sometimes people just have different temperaments. It doesn't mean they are snobbish or weird for Mika fans. :naughty:

There have been days when I have barely spoken to anyone in the queue because I am thoroughly exhausted. Jetlag, 3 hours sleep, I'm on my third gig in as many days, etc.

I know in Europe especially people are sometimes just shy. They aren't as comfortable speaking English as they'd like to be and are intimidated by such a huge group of people who all know each other already.

Yeah, I was just going to say that same thing. People have different personalities, experience emotions in different ways, and even the same person on a different circumstance can react very differently...

I'm usually very chatty and sociable, and enjoy socialising, but if I am totally knackered or stressed obviously it will be different and I may not feel like doing the same thing that I would otherwise. That doesn't make anyone snobbish, it just shows different temperaments :naughty:. Also what one person may consider happy, another will consider miserable (if they are 'happier' themselves) or hyper (if they are less 'happy' themselves).

I say each to their own and let's just enjoy the day and leave everyone to do what they prefer :roftl:.

My dad bought my plane ticket this morning for my graduation present!

:boing:

Wow! That is a great present!! Very cool :mf_lustslow:

Mine WAS in my suit case (for a WHOLE year :naughty:) but, now all of a sudden I NEED IT and it is no where to be found. I think Rufus stole it! :roftl:

I have a really bad head today and have just read that as 'Mika was in my suitcase for a whole year':naughty:

And even when the queuing experience is less than stellar, there's MIKA at the end of the tunnel... :wub2:

Sort of like giving birth really:shocked:

I'm excited to meet everyone I haven't met yet. :biggrin2: And seeing others again after so long.

And if we're all going to be such a loving bunch then we should expect orderly decorum in the queuing. This venue has shown subpar organization (esp. about the age restriction) and I'd like to think that won't impede us MFCers from conducting ourselves fairly.

What happened in New York last time? I don't recall anyone rolling their eyes? I know several peeps were disappointed the meetup for lunch didn't happen, but I dunno I thought everyone ended up having a good time despite the cold. I know I talked to almost all the MFCers and made some good friends. I brought a friend with me, too. Am I missing something?

If you Missed it - THAT IS A GREAT THING!!!!! No one wants to be made to feel like a freak. After all we are ALL there for the same reasons! I think I freak people out sometimes . . and I was COLD AS H E L L and miserable . . . but, I did NOT start YELLING at everyone to get in line until the barricades were already in place! :teehee:

THAT is fine!!!! Of course everyone is feeling differently, that is to be expected! WHAT I AM referring to was DOWN RIGHT RUDENESS . . . that was totally uncalled for! Of course WE people are going to be on our BEST behaviors . . R I G H T!!! :biggrin2:

Is that in the MFC charter? I don't believe I signed up for that - you can't possibly like everyone, it's unnatural!

. . . it is in the MFC handbook :wub2:

and well . . . I DO like everyone . . . and ask those who know me - - - I am COMPLETELY unnatural :freak: I am one of those 'exceptions' to EVERY rule. Like my doctor prescribed me some valium to 'knock me out' and it made me more alert then I have EVER been in all my life! Literally the doctor LOOKED at my mother and said, "She isn't normal - is she" :freak:

**** Holly you are scaring me now......

Don't worry - I am harmless . . :freak:

It won't happen now that you've said it aloud to all of us, don't worry!

:thumb_yello:

THANK GOD . . . :teehee:

I am really looking forward to all of you! I also tend to be quiet and sometimes a bit shy although, if I am in a mood, I can also be outgoing. I'll have to see which me shows up on June 23. :teehee:

I tend to bring the shy ones OUT of their shell . . . . so you are all good! :woot_jump:

The only thing I want to say is . . . .

when it comes down to the WIRE - let's not FREAK out and start pushing again! I know the NYC crowd can get VERY rowdy . . . but, as long as we (MFCers) are in check . . that is all that matters. I don't want to get violent with a fellow MFCer :teehee:

I think I was eating a sandwich when all of this happened. :naughty:

I agree sometimes lines are awkward when you're nervous/tired/shy/freezing/trying to make conversation. And it's hard to make first impressions when you're not on top of your game. Not everyone can love everyone in life, but hey. It's an acoustic show so I'm not expecting the usual craziness. There are always pushing at concerts, nonetheless.

No, I wasn't there. I wasn't doing the London gigs on that occasion.......but went when they were rearranged in Feb. Therfore I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Suzy yet.

However, I am not suprised...I have trouble remembering which I have been to let alone which everyone else has been to:roftl:

When I started my 'Mika career' I started files in which I keep photographs etc from each gig. At the time I thought it was just a nice thing to do. However, I have realised that at my age, it is actually an essential tool to remind me of where I have been:naughty:

I just stand beside Sara at every gig and she takes videos. Otherwise I wouldn't remember anything. :naughty:

I list them onto my siggy. However, I think it's now exceeded the number of characters I can add, so I will have to do a "kath" or rely on Sara too. :teehee:

Personally, my advice would be to just watch him. It IS nice to have some personal pics...they seem much more special when you have taken them yourself...but there is no point in spending the whole gig with a camera in front of your face:shocked: If I were you I would allocate one song to take pics....then just enjoy the show.

I think I'll take your advice, cuz I was personally thinking of that too .. I mean, what's the point of watching him for the first time if I'll not be watching him at all but through a cam :mf_rosetinted: , ye I guess those pics (the ones you take) are the best ones, but in the other hand, there'd be probably lots of people taking pics too so I can watch those instead :teehee:

Exactly. The memories of actually SEEING him are very precious:wub2:

I am very excited for you.

I am very excited for me too:naughty: It still hasn't sunk in yet that I am actually going to see Mika in NEW YORK:shocked::biggrin2:
