Top 10 Memories from 2011

Recommended Posts

Just write down the happiest/best memories you have from this year. :biggrin2:

(in no order)

1. The 2 weeks I spent with my best friend, Ana. I had never met her before (she's from Slovenia, I met her in a forum), and she came to Greece for 2 weeks, stayed at my house. I'm generally an introvert and I need my private time, I get bored easily and I'm shy around people. But these 2 weeks were the best of my life, I was another person. I was really really happy <3

2. Watching Hamlet by Shakespeare with my sister on the theatre. You know the feeling when you see something so beautiful, that leaves you speechless? It was exactly like that.

3. Discovering Mika. I always liked him, but I became a fan a few months ago. I just started watching as many videos as I could, I was probably glued to my screen for hours without realising it.

4. Watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. HP is another obsession of mine, it's my life. The story, the characters, the places, the books have taught me so much! And seeing it all ending was very sad and bittersweet, but I still consider it one of the best days of 2011.

5. The 2nd day of our family holidays in a Greek island, Andros. We spent the whole day at the beach and we were all acting silly, something that rarely happens. It was great fun :aah:

6. Meeting other 2 internet friends who are now a couple (I met them in the same forum, but I basically brought them together :blush-anim-cl: ) so I was really glad to see them so happy together.

7. Going to see Rally Acropolis with my dad (I'm not a racing/cars fan at all, I actually know nothing about cars), but I spent the whole day with my dad and it was really nice.

8. Seeing the Kremlin ballet performing the Swan Lake, just a few days ago. It was my dream to watch this, it was beautiful.

9. Receiving my signed Noel! copy by Mika, which was a total surprise to me (I was still shocked that I won something, I never win anything ) and being a new fan I didn't expect to have something that great that early!

10. Receiving a (personalised) signed copy of HP and the Half-Blood Prince by Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy). My friend I mentioned in number 6 met him, and I was again really surprised.

Some of them are really silly, I know, but oh well.:teehee:

You don't have to write 10 or analyze as much as I did of course.:aah: Now start posting :naughty:

I don't have them in order:D

1. Seeing 30 Seconds to Mars twice

2. Seeing Jedward, getting a picture and a hug from them

3. James Blunt concert

4. Going to London for a week and alone. It was a lot of fun + I saw Bruno Mars and the Black Eyed Peas perform.

5. Discovering the Vampire Diaries series in summer. They're amazing books. I think it took me only a week to finish them all.

6. Getting myself 2 hamsters.

7. Hearing new Mika songs. I have been a fan for only over a year so it's a new thing for me to waiting a new record from him.

Well, that's all for now I think. My memory is a bit dull right now. As you can see, most of my best experiences are connected to concerts but that's just me. I'm so addicted to going to concerts.

Oh I've always wanted to see this. I went to a production of Swan Lake in London but it was all male and sort of modernish dancing so really not what I was hoping for. :teehee:

10. Appearing for the first time in TV, even if casually!

Oh how did that happen?

2. Drinking Tim Horton's :blush-anim-cl: sounds crazy right?

It would be crazy if you didn't drink Tim Horton's. :wink2:

Did you say you're coming back to Canada again? Do you have family here? A couple of my close colleagues at work are Vietnamese and I get the impression there is a big community in Toronto.

8. Met up with MFCers from Indonesia

Oh I didn't know you had a meet up in Indonesia. Did you have to travel far or do you all live fairly close to one another?

I think so... her personality is pretty much like my mum's so I think she would let me. Besides, it's like half an hour away, not very far :biggrin2:

Is he planning a gig? :aah:

Here's mine, in no order really

  1. Finally taking conceitedwombat up the CN Tower after we got derailed by a pop star in 2009. She freaked me out by lying on glass floor while the Blue Jays played in the SkyDome below. The schooner trip around the Toronto Harbour was great too.

  2. Going to the opera for the first time. I had always meant to go to the Royal Opera House when I lived in London but never got around to it but this year a friend got free tickets to our new opera stage in Toronto. I thought I wouldn't understand a thing but there were enough surtitles above the stage to explain the action. I loved the melo drama and the power of the music.

  3. Walking in to see the lone piano at the points gig and realizing that Mika was going to sing without a microphone. We were given so little information beforehand I had painted a dozen scenarios in my head, but this was better than anything I had imagined. Grace Kelly was more perfect than it's been since the Jools Holland performance in 2006 and Happy Ending was just stunning.

  4. Going to dinner with MFCers from all over the world in anticipation of the gig and having tea at the lovely Secret Tea Room afterwards. Meeting Melachi and going out with my friends in London later in the evening and laughing until the early morning hours.

  5. A second trip to London in May that we'd been planning since last year. We pulled off most of our plans and there were a few amazing surprises along the way. Touristy stuff, visits to my old neighbourhood by the Thames, the Sam Beeton gig conceitedwombat mentioned, a TV show at the BBC, and a house gig with a band we love that ended up turning into a house party. Even just hanging out on the rooftop terrace of our flat was a joy.

  6. Having a private killer whale show in San Antonio and eating dinner virtually on top of their tank. I really don't like the idea of keeping these animals in captivity but they had several tanks a lot larger than I expected and they were free to swim around but still came to see us. I would still prefer to see them swimming in the Pacific Northwest but it was still an amazing experience.

  7. Finally getting through my hellish conference that took me a year to plan and learning I had gotten a pay raise before it was over. And I also earned employee of the quarter for my efforts. :biggrin2:

  8. Seeing Adele again. It was bittersweet seeing her in a huge venue. I feel like she's mine and where did all these people come from?? :sneaky2::naughty: But I was lucky to see her before her voice problems really took hold and she had to cancel so many other dates in North America this year. And of course she was brilliant as always.

  9. Going to the reunion of Greg Wells' college band and hearing him talk about his learning experiences and how he began his career in music and the music industry. It was amazing to think that LICM wouldn't exist as we know it without some of the people who were there that night who had nurtured his talent and gave him the chance to develop his confidence.

That's more than enough I guess :naughty:
