    Oh, there's no question - traveling is such a blast!!! I wish I could do much, much more!!! I've never been to Europe or anything but I have been through Canada and the U.S., on an Alaskan Cruise, to Bermuda, and also to the Bahamas a few times. They were all great trips! But unfortunately I've had to put everything on the back burner until I sort out these medical problems. Traveling, as fun as it may be, is extremely hard on your system if you're ill or have a compromised immune system like me.

    But that's such a GORGEOUS area!!! Do you get to do any camping or hiking? Skiing? Water sports?

    Yeah, it was great! That was definitely a high point in my life. And out here (in British Columbia) I went white water rafting down the Thompson River - another amazing trip!!!!!! You wouldn't BELIEVE the rapids on that river! This was approx. 25 years ago - the following summer there were 2 accidents on that river, several people drowned...........

    So awesome!!!! My family and I went - many, many years ago - circa Jurassic Park (when I was a kid and dinosaurs roamed the earth, LOL!) and we went on that boat, "The Maid of the Mist", which goes right near the falls!!! It was amaaaaaaazzzzziiiiinnngggg!!!!!!!

    I'm so glad you had a good time here in Canada. The falls is amazing, eh??? Well, if you like the east coast you would really love it out here on the west coast (a.k.a. "The Wet Coast", "LaLa Land", "Lotus Land", "God's Country"). We all hope Mika will come back here for a 2nd tour!!!

    YIKES!!!! You're sounding more and more LIKE ME!!! Calamity Joan!!! I'm soooo sorry to hear of all this! But anyways - your swim season is trashed - unfortunately - but you can't do anything about that, so just let it go.... at least your ankles are healed, that's the main thing... the asthma part is horrible, but sooner or later the air will clear, then that will hopefully help. I have relatives who are asthmatic and it totally sucks when the pollution gets bad - but just think of how great you will feel when it fnally does clear..... I always try to look at the positives, even when everything seems totally negative.... and believe me,, things get pretty bad on my end..... I always try to see the funny side, laughing is a GREAT HEALER - THE VERY BEST MEDICINE. Anyways, you can unload to me anytime! Joan Man, oh, man, what is it about the fires this year??? Too bad you couldn't go out on the 13th, but at least you celebrated the next day!!! But yeah, you got your priorities straight - family, pets (same thing) and home.... I'm glad everything was ok in the end.... I went to one of my fave Greek restaurants with 3 of my cousins on Friday the 13th - it was really nice to get out for a change, as I have not been doing much of anything else except just trying to get through one day at a time....... Anyways, talking with you guys here in mfc is a godsend - truly helps lift my spirits....... thanks so much for all the great wishes - I am ALWAYS here for you too! Joan

    OH! Isn't he the little cutie!!!! LOVE LOVE the mohawk!!! Adorable!!! So you were at Dorval? I'm originally from Montreal, and still have a lot of family members there. But I haven't been back since 2002, when my niece got married.I can't travel until I stabilize health-wise..... I REALLY hope that's soon.... Luckily I won't have to stay in hospital - I HATE that- plus my kitty Cali would be traumatized if I wasn't home..... So next Thursday I see a cardiologist and the following Monday it's the surgeon..... Fingers crossed..... So did you have a good birthday? What did you do to celebrate?

    Yeah, tell me about it!!! But I am a survivor! I've already cheated death a number of times... quite a few REALLY CLOSE CALLS!!!! I know I am extremely ill but I refuse to go down without a fight! So... back to you! You never said why you were having such a s****y summer! I'm all ears! Your turn.

    It IS kind of scary!!! I've predicted shootings, deaths, floods, and other more mundane events. I have premonitions in dreams - sometimes I won't understand the meaning and then lo and behold! a week later I see the event on TV!!! Totally bizarre!!! Anyways, I've been sick all my life - this is getting old and very tiresome already.... It doesn't help when I dream that I'M going to die..... This is one premonition that I hope doesn't come true - yet........

    Thanks for the good wishes! Yeah, it really sucks being sick.... and now I'm facing some pretty horrible tests starting next week! Yuck! And to top everything off a very dear, old friend passed away this past week..... This is going to sound really weird but I knew it was going to happen BEFORE it actually did occur. I have had premonitions before - which have saved my life on several occasions - in any case, last summer this same friend had a heart attack and I predicted that as well. It's kinda creeping me out.... I wish I could channel this ability to utilize it for productive reasons.... like save lives or something.... or help the police solve crimes, etc. (i.e. "Medium".) BTW - I believe you and I share the same birthday.... June 13th?? I thought I read that... if it's true the allow me to wish you: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY - FELLOW FRIDAY THE 13TH CLUB MEMBER HUGS, Joan

    About the same! What's happening with you? Care to share? I'm sick.... as usual.... been in hospital, undergoing lots of (painful) tests, and a couple of days ago a close friend passed away. Meh, Feh and Bleh!

    YAY SUZANNE!!!!!! I'm often gone longer than you but I never say goodbye 'cause I know I could never, ever leave MFC for good. We are most definitely family here, albeit sometimes a dysfuntional one... LOL! So what is the story with this gig? Is it on? Off? Maybe?
