If anyone is confused, an EP is a mini album which usually contains about six songs. Some time last year, Mika stated that he'd probably release one between his first and second album and it would hold six sad songs that wouldn't make it on an album. The EP would be titled something like *if i remember correctly* Six Songs for Sorrow...? Or SOMETHING. I know it had "songs" and "sorrow" in it. Would they be fully complete or demos? I dunno.

 

Maybe Mika should release it so we can find out

 

no, i'm being serious. We never heard much about it and the thought is still lingering in our heads. I remember FD found a newspaper article about it and I'm SURE Mika mentioned it in another interview. But I could be lying, so don't quote me on it. I just kinda wanna know more about it?

He is only using one name as a credit on each song. The names are just linked together in the database because they belong to one person (he's also publishing under Michael H Penniman, as well as Michael Holbrook Penniman and Alice). I think Alice is only credited on two songs.

 

All of these songs were registered quite awhile ago so I don't know if they'll end up on the new album.

stupid question - but do imaginary "alter egos" get their share of royalties?

Ohhh and I don't quite agree with what has been said about the slow songs in general. I sooo want Overrated on the second album. It won't happen, though...

 

 

i forgot about overrated, i love it and i like over my shoulder too, the piano, i sort of like like your sympathys demo but i hate the official verison with the fake voice

absolutely love "Overrated" - but do n o t want it on the album, more than that - do not want it "touched" anymore...

To me its perfection is in being "just one step away" from total cheesyness...it is beautiful, sticky, great and simple lyrics, but a slightly husky voice and plain piano add some touch of naivity, create a special mood and prevent it from falling into cliche'...dunno, IMO - "Produce" it a bit more, re - record vocals - and the magic is going to be ruined (and song wld go straight to Boyzone and co)...
