  1. My friend says..... "well i think we'd better make our reservation then. from a restaurant person's point of view tables should be a party of 5 or less. reasons being 1) quicker service 2) parties of 6 or more are subject to AUTOMATIC gratuity of 20% i'd also like to download their menu so i know exactly what i want to sooner be finished and on the race line to the front row!" ! ! !
  2. Hello, Melanie I agree w/others, perhaps there is a more appropriate trait/topic than pride? Must consider your audience.... I'm a rabid editor & would love to help proof. More power to you!! Go get 'em! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! Leona
  3. ok, Charlotte, thanks, I guess I just wanted to hear someone say it! I think there aren't any more tickets available for his Chicago show.....woops! c'est le vie! Leona
  4. Welcome. this is a good place to be daring. As someone once said, "Why not?" Leona
  5. What do you all think of this? I know someone who would love to see Mika as well, but they sort of ruin/suck the fun out of every event I've taken them to, so ... I sort of bought tickets for me & 2 friends, but not for them. Now I feel bad about it, and it's going to be so hard not to say anything for the next month 1/2!! They're going to find out sooner or later, do I just try to keep it quiet??
  6. Hello, welcome! I was wondering about the penguin thing too. then there's the pink pony thing- some days it seems there are too many 'in' jokes going on here! (I mean, in MFC in general) Maybe there should be an explanation of them in the FAQs! I'm not thinking of a costume costume for the concert, just an outfit, a lot depends on how long I'll be standing outside in the cold that day. I think I've started a sort of Chicago field trip day for Feb. 5th, some of us are going to the Art Institute before the concert, it should be fun!
  7. Hello, Charlotte You're going to see Mika Too??? Yeaaahhh!!! My tickets came in mail today. I am so excited, this is better than Christmas! I don't know what I'm going to wear...
  8. Hello, Chickadee Sounds like the Grinch has come to your house instead of Santa! Sorry, relatives can be such pests, can't they? just keep repeating "getting angry doesn't solve anything" and picture her in a blonde wig on top of the piano!
  9. wow, Melanie that's really...poetic! unfortunately it won't look that nice in February, it will be coated with that grey film of slush and salt. He'll just have to tour again in better weather! You know, ABC News has their studio @ State & Lake, with those huge picture windows in front, many times they turn the cameras around & film the people gathered on the sidewalk watching the newsbroadcast. What if a bunch of fans were waving a Mika banner......
  10. .... was wondering about that, about how many people could you get this pass for? I may go over there & ask in person. I like the idea of the Art Institute being taken over by a horde of hormonally berserk giggling MFCers!( dressed up as- who knows what?) What a great group photo that would be, on the front steps of the AIC with the Lions.... wonder if MIKA will be doing any sightseeing in town? He's welcome to join us! although I can see us being escorted out by the Art Institute security people for shrieking too loudly...
  11. Got my tickets today! for me & 2 good friends. I'm SO excited! I believe Tuesday is the free day @ Art Institute. Let's all go! I'm cutting school that day, (don't tell!) and would be glad to show people around the city, well the mile 1/2 or so around HOB, it will be pretty cold for a lot of walking sightseeing. If we can get in there to eat @ HOB restaurant & get passes to get back in line later, WHY NOT? Or we could exchange cell #s and meet up for the group photo, that's a great idea. MIKA is coming to town!!!!!! this is better than any Christmas present! Leona
  12. Good morning, everyone! Sorry to hear about those who are ill- last time I got bronchitis my Dr. said to take extra echinacea & zinc, in addition to lots of Vitamin C,every day, and so far it has worked, haven't gotten sick again. Nice to hear of everyone's X-mas plans. I loved the whole Santa myth. When I was a youngling, my family would go to Midnight mass, all 10 or 11 of us would be piled up in the van with blankets on (no heat) and at the last second my mother would say "I forgot my chapel veil!" & run back into the house. It always took her quite a few minutes to find it. When we returned from mass, Santa had come! Amazing what children will believe. This year, I have no budget for gifts, so that saves a lot of time! Probably working X-mas eve & day at one of my jobs, but that's ok. I'm glad I'm healthy & have work. Very best Holiday wishes to all. I'm glad to hear Wendi is feeling better. ( and I agree about That Thread, it's a bit much! there are so many other things to talk about!) bye for now. Leona
  13. Welcome, Nikki! Looking forward to meeting you in February. Leona
  14. hello, anyone here? it's 19 degrees & we're supposed to get 7 inches of snow tonight! It's finally starting to look like Christamas! Leona
  15. Hello, everyone. Happy Birthday Charlotte! This forum has been strange today. Ever since I've been fiddling with the cookies in order to vote for ROTY. I wonder if all our multiple votes are even being counted?
  16. Good afternoon/evening everyone! I'm done with school! (for 1 month) I've been voting for ROTY. How discouraging is that? my right arm is sore, so I've been mousing & clicking with my left hand, can't go as fast. I don't like seeing Mika in 3rd place, especially when it means he gets a dull grey stripe on the graph. Mika can't be grey! He should be purple or something more vibrant. Happy Friday! Leona
  17. Just voted for 2 hours & it didn't budge- maybe it's stuck??
  18. Dear Wendi-- It just occurred to me what would make you feel better, so I'm going to vote for Mika for Record of the Year the rest of the night! hope it works! Leona
  19. Hello, Wendi, hope you feel much much better soon! Leona
  20. YEAAHH! we're going to have a blast on Feb. 5th! I'm not good at keeping track of everyone's name, but someone said they lived too far from the train station--- why not take a cab there from your house? Or hire a neighbor to drive you? You have 56 days to plan it. I think it was Megan & Haley who wanted rosettes- so sorry, I already ordered some & afterward I was thinking, I could probably make those myself! You could try to make some, go to fabric store for blue ribbon... Leona
  21. Mais oui! I'm taking French in the Spring- do you think I'll know enough to be able to say something to him Feb. 5th, if the opportunity presents itself? I've always wanted to learn it, and after listening to him do those interviews in French- mon dieu! Leona
  22. thanks for understanding- enthusiastic doesn't begin to cover it. Even when I was 12, I never had a popstar crush like this, plus my parents never would have let me join a fanclub/go to concerts. So, I'm going thru that phase a few decades later, that's all. Maybe it's better to do it now, as I have $$ to spend on essentials like tickets!
  23. Aside from his astounding talent and criminally good looks, I am infatuated with him because he is so smart, witty, savvy with the press, etc. Love his interviews. His sense of humor comes through, & its refreshing. I've been so jealous of all of you who have seen him in concert & met him/gotten autographs! I thought I'd probably have to wait a year before I'd get to see him, & now it's only 57 days away! I'm sounding like a 12 year old! Glad it's only my cat who can see me jumping up & down now. Leona
  24. Good evening, everyone! By the way, the whole 'no chicken tonight' thing just cracks me up, and the fact that he knows about it & goes along with it is just too too funny! C and boys-- you Must come to Chicago! It will be fantastic! I would like to meet some of the MFC in real life! Leona
