  1. sorry to hear about that blue, sending good thoughts your way
  2. don't know if you've already seen these, over 100 good photos from Chicago- among them, in this one I'm way off to the right looking down, trying to hold on to that rainbow banner- http://www.exposay.com/mika-the-midway-state-link-up-with-mika-in-concert-at-the-house-of-blues---february-5-2008/p/17291/65/ to the left of me are Nikki, Kjoshi & her cousin(with lollipop sign), & Taylor
  3. thanks for finding these Amanda! you can see a little bit of Nikki in this one, she has black hair & glasses. http://www.exposay.com/mika-the-midway-state-link-up-with-mika-in-concert-at-the-house-of-blues---february-5-2008/p/17291/59/ and I'm trying to hold up that rainbow banner way in the back of this photo http://www.exposay.com/mika-the-midway-state-link-up-with-mika-in-concert-at-the-house-of-blues---february-5-2008/p/17291/65/ how exciting- sometimes it doesn't seem real- thanks!!
  4. Hello, and goodnight to half the Oldlings it seems! I would have to vote on the pro-Erase side. I love it. Dcdeb- thanks for your help, I'm still getting the hang of this technology. I have to put some things up on my myspace page now... MIka may make a brief appearance, just when his category is announced, you think? but it does look like it would be boring sitting through the whole thing.
  5. bon soir, mon amis! who would have thought we'd all give our right arm to be in SLC?! does anyone have the myspace addresses for the rest of the band? thanks, Leona
  6. wow, every show sounds better than the last, thanks everyone for sharing... and, in Chicago, more than Mardi Gras beads got thrown on stage- someone threw a pair of men's briefs (maroon with gray trim) on the left part of the stage, in front of Martin! That would make an interesting exhibit "Things fans have thrown on stage:"
  7. all those in favor of an acoustic tour, raise your hands! (but not in the winter next time!)
  8. there were no flat moments in the show. The author has not been thoroughly Mikafied yet!
  9. that's so nice of her! She was really sweet when I met her in Chicago, too. I'm technologically challenged- does anyone have the addresses for the myspace of her and the rest of the band? Thanks, Leona
  10. is there anyone here that is going to the shows @ end of February that I can mail this banner from Chicago to? (It's not that big) and do you think you have a good chance of giving it to him? Or should I wait and see if there will be an official MFC address to send things to? thanks, Leona
  11. Hello, everyone! I wish I had gone around & talked to more people, too- but when I heard Mika's voice during the soundcheck (I think it was around 3:30- 4 pm?) I lost all powers of concentration, I was so distracted, couldn't finish sentences, my mouth went dry,my hand was shaking, I couldn't even text on my phone. Do you know, from the time he left the stage @9:30 pm, I was not able to sleep for another 27 hours!!! I was up almost 48 hours from Monday to Wednesday night. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. Mika casts a spell on you! When we got back to my apartment from the concert, Nikki & I had blueberry pancakes & stayed up gushing about the concert & checking the forum. she slept for a few hours, I stayed up writing my report, then we left @6:45am so she could catch her train back home. I went to take my math exam & I was spacing out in the middle of linear equations thinking-- I touched his hand! I ended up getting a B- on it. It's all Mika's fault! He's just too much. The show was so intense, like a roller coaster, when it's over, you just want to ride again. I wore the concert t-shirt to school today, I was telling people about the show before my Speech class, I guess I was sounding way too enthusiastic because they were giving me funny looks! When I first joined the MFC, I'd read these gooshy reports & think-oh, come on, really ... he's a great singer, but you're a little bit obsessed ! But now I absolutely understand! Next time he's in Chicago, the weather will be great & we'll have a better plan & spend more time with each other . He has to come back, I have to give him the banner!
  12. hello, rabidly eager fans!! would you believe I never did go to sleep after last night's show? Talk about adrenaline! It's still bouncing around in my head. I've been up close to 2 days now. Mika should bottle his enthusiasm & sell it! I would like to apologize for the lousy weather of the midwestern United States, and yes, I'm very glad they were smart & left right away & didn't get stuck. It's been pretty nasty here.
  13. she did post here and in Chicago thread, sounds like it was fantastic!
  14. Hello again, Oldlings! I cannot get to sleep.... I know you'll like this-just added it to the Chicago thread- Just remembered- before Mika's set started, it sounded like they played a snippet of the original 'Hair' song that we now know as Mika's infamous New Year's Eve "Ain't Got No Chicken" song- it was pretty funny oh- and he wore the Wolf costume last night.

  16. Amanda, your narrative was priceless, it sounds like you had a great time !Their attention to detail does pay off, I noticed the freckles right way, you all looked darling! Ok, that's it, I have to get some sleep, it's been over 30 hours. That was a night we'll always remember!
  17. No, Melanie, I don't think anyone saw him after- we waited at different spots until 11:30 pm, it sounds like they left right away because of the bad weather. C'est le vie. Sorry you didn't feel well, but wasn't it magnificent??
  18. Yesterday when Luke, Cherisse & Saranayde were signing things for us, Luke used my Sharpie to sign for other people, yet he kept track of it and was sure to give it back to me, that was so considerate. by the way, he has a big signature, we were laughing about it later, so when you ask him to sign, be sure there is lots of room! It was just the most fabulous event ever, I cannot fathom where Mika gets all that energy, he's relentless! A cross between Tigger and the Energizer Bunny, maybe? I saw Prince in 1982 & again about 4 years ago, got the same feeling after Mika's show- that we hadn't just seen someone singing songs from their album, when it was over you knew you had been enter-TAINED!! And seeing him jump live is a thrill! I just took a math exam, and when I pulled the calculator out of my backpack, confetti burst out onto the desk! OK, I've been up for about 34 hours, time for a nap. I'm so glad I found the MFC, my head would explode if I had nowhere to vent all this gushing nonsense! Bye! Leona
  19. We couldn't have possibly been any closer to the front! I was right at the barrier, could easily reach over & touch the stage. (I'm tall -6 ft.) It is absolutely worth the wait to be in front! look @ the Chicago Gig Thread, I posted a long report.
  20. Amanda! glad you got home safely. You were adorable on the stage! I think you could be a professional Lollipop girl and Mika should hire you to tour the globe with him! Leona
  21. hello, this is the first time I've been on the Oldings forum & other people are awake-It's 5:15 am for me, not usually up at this hour. I just keep replaying the whole show in my head, wow. He looked right at me for a split second in "My Interpretation" & it was worth all the waiting & being shoved from behind, I would wait out in the rain for a month for that!
