  1. Haha, yeah me too! Today we tried out the harmonies with a really talented and amazingly awesome singer who I know, and she made the song so much better! It makes me even more excited! I hope your sister will be okay! Pretty good! I'm just going through the motions of the first week back at school and being excited about recording next week. What about you?
  2. If anybody is interested, here are some pictures of Studio 52, the studio we're recording in next Thursday in Melbourne. http://www.studio52.com.au/images/slideshow/studioslideshow/index.html We have to leave at 6am (meaning I'll need to wake up at around 5am) and we get back to my town at about 10-11pm. It's going to be a long day!
  3. Haha, yeah just piano. There are five other musicians doing acoustic guitar, bass, drums, violin synthesiser and vocals. But don't get too excited, the piano bit isn't really that amazing or complicated. It is nice though! It does indeed! Hurrah!
  4. Argh, today in chemistry I accidentally spilled silver nitrate all over my hands because the lid wasn't on properly. I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with silver nitrate but if it gets on anything it stains it brown. So now I am going to have to put up with having blotchy brown hands and fingernails for a few weeks!
  5. I love Bridget Jones (and Colin Firth)! Haha yes, after it's been recorded and I get the CD.
  6. Hmm.. I think I like the 'We Are Golden' video. To be honest the white underwear make him look somewhat like an overgrown baby in a nappy. Yes. We played it properly today for the first time, with everybody actually knowing what they were doing. It sounded great! The vocalist has improved my melody line a lot with a few little improvisations and we are currently working on harmonies and counter-melodies in the chorus.
  7. Rainbow Sky!! We miss you! Haha, that sounds awesome!
  8. Haha, well it was better than I had expected. Well today my teacher suggested having a synthesised violin, which we are going to try out tomorrow and see what it sounds like. The school actually has a pretty good synthesiser so my hopes are relatively high. I have my learners but I'm now 17 so I could get my P's.. I only need a few more hours and to practice reverse parallel parking and three-point turns. And I really want to pass the test first time!
  9. Hello all! The first day of school was as good as could be expected. I'm going to be pretty stressed out with music in the next couple of weeks though.. I have to play at assembly on Wednesday, play in the Eisteddfod next Wednesday and get the song I wrote completely ready by next Thursday, when we go to Melbourne to record! I got the marks back for that composition, and I got an A (10/10)! I was very happy with that, less so with the mark for my performance of 'Going North' by Missy Higgins at the end of last term (16/20), but I knew that it wasn't great. And I also did my speech in English Extension, which was okay. Now I am extremely tired, but determined not to have a nap. Bad news! The guy who plays violin has gone back to his previous school in Dubbo! I was devastated when I found out because there is nobody else in the entire school who can play violin! I don't know what I'm going to do.. We will probably just record it without the violin, but my teacher did suggest replacing it with flute. I'm not sure. I think most people at my school tend to like the student teachers. At least, they have in my experience. This year there is an absolutely awesome one who plays many instruments and is just an overall cool guy. Bad news about the car as well! It seems that the red Volkswagen has been sold (but it was doubtful that I would ever get that one). I think the white Proton is still okay though. My parents will probably pay for it, but I'll most likely have to pay them back when I get a job after finished high school. I'm happy with using the front page, it's always been great and hilarious!
  10. Haha, I've just remembered my dream last night when Mika mentioned Australia (his performance of 'Blue Eyes' was great!). In the dream the MFC was given the songlist for the album and one of the songs was called 'I'm coming to Australia'.
  11. I'm listening to it! They're doing the news at the moment and I'm guessing he'll be on in a few moments.
  12. Oh yes! The fight scene at the end should have been there. Or at least snippets of it. And *spoilers* Dumbledore's funeral, *end spoilers* although I can sort of understand why that was cut. But it is kind of stupid. What was the point of getting all of the Death Eaters into Hogwarts if they didn't even have a fight scene? But I thought that what they did keep was brilliantly done. I'm hoping that the two part Deathly Hallows will be completely awesome. They definitely have enough time to fit everything in.
  13. I know what you mean.. I would have preferred it if they had left out the Burrow scene and put in one or two more memories. I really don't think they gave enough information about what Harry actually has to do in the next ones, like Dumbledore's suspicions about what the remaining Horcruxes actually are, etc. But I always try to see the books and the films as separate entities, which is probably why I liked it so much. But the book was SO much better than the movie (but that is always the case with me).
  14. I loved Richard Harris as Dumbledore as well. I wouldn't be too annoyed with Michael Gambon if they had at least tried to keep some continuity between the two portrayals. The two things that annoyed me the most were the pointless changes to the Irish accent and the grey hair and beard. Dumbledore's beard is supposed to be silver! And I know everybody mentions this but the worst moment of all the films so far (even worse than Dan's crying in Prisoner of Azkaban, bless him), is when Gambon's Dumbledore strangled Harry while shouting "DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?!?!?" Richard Harris was perfect, but it seems, with the sixth film, that Michael Gambon is finally becoming more like the Dumbledore I have in my head. Hello! How are you?
  15. Your house looks awesome! Umm, it's sort of a ballad-y thing. It's quite hard to describe but it's called 'The Fox and the Eagle' and it has slow and melancholic verses with a more upbeat chorus. I think my music teacher wants to make the violin part a bit more interesting thought, so I'm getting the new guy in my music class to sort that out (he's the violinist). This may sound odd, but I love my school. The majority of the kids are friendly and all of my teachers are brilliant. However, there are a few teachers that I really dislike but thankfully they teach the younger years. So yeah.. I'd prefer to stay there, with familiar faces and surroundings, than having to go and get a real job. But I shouldn't get ahead of myself, you have to apply and then be selected by the principal.. But I think he is quite fond of me (probably because we are both huge nerds). I can definitely see the appeal of owning your own house. I'd love to have my own space where I can just do whatever I want. But then again, I think I'd probably get scared if I was living on my own. I would probably go around making sure every single door and window was locked at least five times before being able to go to bed. We didn't really get to look at the cars for as long as I would have liked because my Dad was working on the weekend. But we did (as my Dad puts it) have a bit of a squiz. There were two cars that I really liked. One was a little white Proton and the other was a really cute red Volkswagen Beetle. They're both a little expensive, but my Dad said that "we will see". Harry Potter was great! Perhaps lacking a little bit of action at some stages, but overall it was a really well done film. For the first time since he came into them in The Prisoner Of Azkaban, I actually thoroughly enjoyed Michael Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore. I've always been extremely critical of him because Dumbledore is probably my favourite character within the books and he just really frustrated me with all the over-the-top anger, etc. But I think Gambon pulled him off really excellently in this one. Everything else was great.. Tom Felton really showed the deeper aspects of Malfoy's character, the romance was funny and well done (except for that stupid scene with Harry and Ginny in the room of requirement), Daniel Radcliffe was both serious and hilarious at the right moments and the cave scene, although a little bit shorter than I would have hoped, was brilliantly frightening. And as always, Alan Rickman was amazing as Snape (my other favourite book character).
  16. We will all miss you. Have fun in Europe. I would love to go there some day. So many beautiful places. We will (hopefully) see you when you get back.
  17. I'm annoyed. I've just texted all of my friends to see if they can come and see Harry Potter tomorrow night and hardly any of them can. I told them all about this weeks ago and they all seemed like they were able to go and now they tell me they can't. Grr. But I will still go with the few who can come because I really want to see it!
  18. It's great to hear that Tegan is okay! I hope you feel better soon, Zoe. Today my Dad said he's going to take me to look at cars this weekend!
  19. The IT thing sounds great! Yeah. I'm not quite sure how it works in NSW with the prerequisites for teaching, but the two sorts of maths are called Mathematics (the more advanced one) and General Maths, as well as extensions. I'm doing mathematics and extension 1 (I may be dropping extension in ear 12 though). But I think I would want to be a sort of English/history high school teacher. Haha, I probably should be trying to gain some independence, but I'm just lazy.
  20. I have just planned my future. I want to get a reasonably good UAI at the end of year 12. I will then apply for a Bachelor of Education (I'm not sure whether I want to do primary or high school yet) at the local Charles Sturt University. If I get accepted I'm going to defer for a year and apply for this teachers aide thing my school does. At the end of each year they give finishing year 12 students the opportunity to apply to be a sort of assistant at school, which I think I would really enjoy. And apparently the pay is really great! When that finishes I'll apply for a job at a number of bookstores and DVD rental places (my top two choices) and do that for money while I'm at uni for four years. And I'm going to stay at my parents house throughout all of this, because I am currently too dependent upon them to give that up.
  21. Brilliant! Yes, I've been wondering about Tegan as well.. I hope all is well.
  22. I'm so stupid. I read the online TV guide wrong and thought the memorial was tonight instead of last night. But I'm hoping they repeat it.
