1. What makes you think he was not comfortable and relaxed? He was just fine lol
2. Good one! Her voice isn't like Mika's that's for sure & she does sometimes not open her mouth enough when she sings. As a matter of fact, during her interview, she said that people in the industry mentioned it to her. (Or something to that effect) It's like she puts "ch" instead of "s" a few times. Celine Dion does it also. I call it "the hot potato in the mouth syndrome" XD
3. When Mika was asked about what he liked here, he said he loved our restaurants, the fact that people here were not pretentious, we had a great sense of humor & never took ourselves too seriously. He loved that fact that we could go with the flow no matter what, fall down & get back up. Or something like that... it has been a few weeks now I bet we'll hear this in our Quebec version
4. for the people asking me in PM/DM about poutine, here is the info: Poutine is a plate of french fries, covered with gravy and curd cheese. Curd cheese is freshly made cheddar that goes "squeak squeak" when you eat it because it is still very humid. The cheese is delivered daily to stores around Quebec. It's salty, it's yummy. While we are fully aware that it is 100% unhealthy, let's face it, it tastes good. You can find it in many restaurants, even McDonald's. It is so popular here that Chef Ramsey had it on his menu in a restaurant he owned for a while in Montreal. Do we eat it everyday???? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! We fully understand that it is as unhealthy as it gets. Are we aware that it isn't high on the gourmet chain? YESSSSS!!!! Is poutine Canadian????? Well, yes and no... Its origin is from Quebec and Quebec is in Canada We also take pride in the fact that no ducks were hurt in the making of poutine, unless one happened to be crossing the road as the "squeaky cheese" delivery truck drove by or if you go into a specialty poutinerie (yes, that's a word!) that serves poutine with foi gras (yes, it exists) Does that cover it all? P.S. we do not live in igloos, we don't sleep with bears, we don't see seals on our way to work and we own more than 1 km of paved roads too. And using a stapler is completely legal.
5. ha! i was talking about my own hair! but now that you mention it.....
6. there was sun now and then, but it rained quite a bit that day. and it was quite windy
7. he didn't have to, he chose her. i quite like her voice actually
8. puffy... http://personal.qisoftware.com/blog_images/messy_withcombs.JPG pouffy .... http://i25.tinypic.com/iv9yzd.jpg (ok ok... they spell it poofy... i prefer pouffy )
9. my hair was not puffy... it was pouffy!!!!
10. at least it wasn't pouffy like some other MFCers unless i look directly at her with my puppy eyes, 3 inches from her face during a concert because i can't remember the words to Rain... then she's no help at all
11. Garou uses expressions we do not use here! Just like men do not greet men with kisses here, as a general rule. The only time i could say he spoke like we do is when he was trying to convince Caroline to be on his team. And Mika noticed ah! maybe Beatrice added her personal touch (or got the words wrong )
12. When he said summer music, i think he means summer rythm you know how summer music can be different from the rest. like i consider "Blue eyes" to have a summer feel to it
13. So.... how did the French fans find our Quebec French accent? And let me warn you.... they were using (most of the time) what we consider our "international French" They were being careful how they said things, but a few expressions slipped through i noticed
14. links to the 2 songs can be found on our FB page https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152586568420049&set=vb.31441120048&type=3&theater
15. i think she said some of them yes, i think that's how they met.
16. When Julie Snyder announced that Mika was going to sing GK in French, Cathouzouf said to me "oh you better cover your ears" because i really do not like the French version.... it's like nails on a blackboard. The words don't fit the melody and it just sounds like a mess. (my opinion, i'm not asking anyone to agree or desagree) So when he sang just a little in French and switched to English, i was pleasently surprised. But when he asked to redo his singing, i was afraid it was because he wanted to try again in French. But now that i saw the episode, i see that when she says "En francais", Mika corrects her and says en "Franglais"
17. This is the full video of her Coeur de Pirate singing "Adieu". You could tell on Mika's face that he liked it. She also sings in English, so she is also known in the English parts of Canada and in the USA (to a lesser extent i suppose) I'm not sure if they said it on TV (or perhaps they are keeping it for the Quebec version), her husband is from France and is a tattoo artist. When they showed the clip of Martin Matte & his wife in a therapy session, the therapist is her uncle in real life.
18. we saw you at the very beginning wtih Roxy, and believe me "on n'avait pas besoin de ZOOM"
19. In reality, Mika's part was as long as Patrick Bruel. They all had equal time, except maybe Linda Lemay (not a fan of her's so it was ok) I also missed some parts because it kept cutting out, so i'm not sure in what context they showed the boat going by. In reality, it was when Martin Matte was talking about his weekly show called "les grands malaises" (moments that causes uneasiness... ex: running into an old friend who's ex-boyfriend is now your new boyfriend) They asked the guests to talk about their "grands malaises" moments... when they got to Mika, the boat arrived and he said "Oh! my taxi is here" And he never answered (they actually stopped the filming for about 5 or 10 minutes) it seems to me like they played the boat part way before Martin's "moment" Also, some parts of the show wasn't shown as they are probably for the Canadian edit... such as the poutine moment Again, i'm not sure what was said, because i had to restart every 5 minutes, but for those of you who are asking me in DM about the sex joke, here it is: When Rachid Badouri was speaking, he said his moroccan father never felt comfortable talking about sex, so he would use metaphors. One weekend, Rachid was leaving and his father said to him "Rachid, if you are going swimming in a pool, you have to wear a bathing cap" (meaning if you are going to have sex, use a condom) Mika didn't understand at first, but with the help (i think) of Coeur de pirate, he understood it a few minutes later and laughed. When Linda Lemay was speaking, she was saying that when she was younger, she wrote a song about her boyfriend being unable to perform sexually one night. Most of the song is using metaphors referring to "the problem" Tonight, we saw Mika saying he didn't understand the meaning of the song. What they didn't show is about 3 or 4 minutes later, while everyone is talking about something else, he suddenly understood and laughed. So they asked him why he was laughing and he said he understood now. So they asked him to explain what he understood and he said: "So your partner would have had a hard time putting on a bathing cap" and everyone laughed and applauded ... voila!
20. i doubt it they made people clap differently for the French version versus the Canadian one. That was too funny about 10 min now?
