hi there i really enjoy reading your reports.. .you are soooo funny.. i can almost picture it... i said almost!! wow.. he really thought this britney thing through... i never thought of that... i just thought she'd gone mad (amongst other things lol) are you going to more gigs?

interviewer is mark bergman from mix 96 1st one he is calling from a service station outside of boston, it may not be glamorous, but it's the life he chose and laughs about it. then the interviewer tells him that bookies on the internet are offering odds of 20 to 1 that mika will win 3 brit awards and 7 to 1 odds that he wins 2. mika thinks thats very funny and share the story of (his basis) mikey bet on line that one of mika's songs would be #1 and he made $1200 from that bet. then he goes on to talk about the world he created etc... then he promises to add the interviewer to his my space after checking out his pictures and stuff. then he talks about how great on line communities are. he thanks the interviewer for playing his music. then he talks about being rejected etc.... he promises to drop by the radio station... which he does... (see part 2) part 2 mark bergman interviews mika, at first they talk about where he comes from and then he says it is his first time in montreal and that he is a mutt and that he speaks french and coming to a city where there is so many cross breads he can related to it. he says that what he finds interesting here is the fact that no matter what your race is, whether it is chinese, lebanese, french, english, we are very much from montreal as of for in london, you would still say where you were originally from. and he says we are quite rightly proud of it. mika says it is weird that even on this side of the world people know him. he says he went shopping at the eaton center and stopped at this lebanese fast food joint called basha and the lady kept telling him in french that he looked like the singer and kept on saying it... so he said it is probably because it is him and she said oh nooooo it can't be... this singer comes from london and doesn't speak french. People tell him he should go to radio stations and ask for free cds and he says he wouldn't do it cause he'd feel jaded... like his accountant well he is a total nut case... then he forgets why he is talking about his accountant and laughs. mika says he knew he always wanted to do his own thing. he rejected 4 offers from the record company he signed with cuz they wanted too much control. he didn't think there was a space for him anywhere. grace kelly is a personal message to jerks he was working with at the time etc... mika says it's weird that his show is sold out, talks about his tour in canada and around the world. he wants us to keep being fans in montreal, cuz he wants to come back, if only for the food, he says our food is great. he wants to go shopping too. he hasn't sampled the night life in montreal, cuz if we want a gig, he can't do that... that's basically what the 2nd interview says... do i have to translate this? i just realised that you wrote in french and i answered in english .... and i'm not a mutt!!! yes... bienvenue means welcome, i think they use it in france too, i don't think it's a french canadian thing... just think it's french lol but what do i know??? he didn't know what a cherub was in french... then he thought of angel (ange) yeah i know.. big mouth & big butt haha my cherubs don't look like that at all lol

it sounds like she didn't expect to interview him and that she came up with the questions herself. she did ok though, i would have just stood there also she mentioned he had a star over him, he tells her no.. its a fat angel and at the end, she says good night to him with the star and the green jacket? doesn't make much sense.

interviewer: i am with Mika backstage, he has just received his prize for the best pop artist of the world this year. How do you feel Mika? Mika: it is very nice. interviewer: do you feel touched, happy, stunned? all that is new to you. Mika: I received 3, but all at once, i'm a little confused. interviewer: this year is very busy for you, your album, your tour, do you feel like there is a little star following you around all the time, above your head? Mika: I'm not sure if it's a star but huh... but how to do you say cherub in french? a small angel, no, a big angel, a very big angel, with a large mouth and a big bum and he protects me. interviewer: how do you deal with all this success? Mika: with alot of luck and i feel very lucky to have alot of people around me who have helped me since my childhood. I also feel lucky to do what i have wanted to do from the beginning. Even when everyone was telling me it was going to be a disaster. i was born in vermont to canadian parents, without ever living in usa. my hubby is same. my sons have dual citizenship... usa & canadian. our passports can be usa i'm assuming usa would do same if dual citizenship with lebanon not sure though

i saw his performance (ema) on mtv in canada, but i think i only saw one of his videos which is relax, as for the radio... lately they've been playing big girl alot i guess they just don't play him as often as i would like

i bought 2 off of ebay... i HATE shopping in stores!!! 1 is a xmas gift. i haven't received them yet... but it is on its way, i received confirmation.

hahaha i'm from montreal and nooooooooo it doesn't smell bad at all! i don't find it has a particular smell.

i actually didn't even know who mika was then i only heard of him last may/june at a year end show at my son's school. my son was playing the base in a band. a girl sang grace kelly and i thought wow.. nice song but i didn't realise until i came back home and my son made me listen to the song that the original was sung by a man! and the rest is history lol
