There is no hip hop beat in Rain.

 

Come on people let's not get carried away. We all have different preferences, which is fine, but that doesn't mean Rain is a hip hop song.

 

And Blame It On The Girls is not all computerized either as you can clearly hear in the vlog where there is a piano solo and Ida's backing vocals in the bridge.

 

Why don't we just wait for the album before rushing to judgement, eh?

sorry for the "hip-hop beat" confusion, it was for lack of a better word. And I shouldn't have rushed to judgement...I get carried away sometimes.

Rain was an insane disappointment for me. so was I See You. That would have been a great song without that "hip-hop beat" in the background. It seems that all the songs on the radio have that. Its just not neccesary. I also regret to say that I hated the album version of Blame it on the Girls. Good thing I have an acoustic recording. in conclusion:

I want to hear music not computers!

Good news is he stayed true to quality pop in We Are Golden, Good Gone Girl, Dr. John, Blue Eyes, and Pick up off the Floor:thumb_yello: If only his whole album were closer to those songs...

That's a VERY subtle difference- I suppose it's just about different enough to be intentional, but it's close. I checked before asking you, and couldn't see any difference, but now I look closely I guess it is a different colour (note- I am not the world's most visual person). The ones on UK amazon are different too, now you mention it.

 

And the 3D bit of the word Mika is red and not blue

both versions are blue at the US Amazon

I checked it. If Loverboy is only a bonus track on the UK version I will go insane! I can't buy anything in pounds!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really confused. I don't know which version to get.

1. I definitely want it in print. so i guess itunes is out.

2. I have the PdP dvd, so I could care less about those performances on some versions.

3. Loverboy is an absolute must! I definitely want the Sadlers Wells performance. But the problem is that the neither of the editions on US Amazon have Loverboy or Sadlers Wells!

So, a while ago I was showing LICM to my little neighbor.

she's evil.

When she heard it, she gave me this look like 'you actually like this crap?'. I said to her: "Look little girl, at the WMA's last year the nominees for best single were Mika's Grace Kelly and your favorite singer Avril Lavigne's song Girlfriend. And guess what? Mika won." mwhahaha!

The title, the artwork- Amazing! I was disappointed with the last cover/title, so I'm so glad this happened!

Two things I'd like to say about this video:

 

1. I really didn't like it. I thought that the video should be as epic as the song.

 

2. This whole thing is serious deja-vous for me. Last year, Ben Folds put out his "Way to Normal" album. But before it was released, it was leaked to a fan site. Turns out that they were fake versions of the songs that Ben recorded as a joke on his fans. I know this is a huge stretch, but since I didn't like the video I'm kinda hoping that Mika pulled a joke on us by secretly leaking a 'fake' We Are Golden video before we get the real one on Friday.

 

Ok, now that the idea is out of my head and in words its an even bigger stretch. I'll go watch it again to see if I like it more:wink2:

 

EDIT: I'm watching it now and I do like it more, but still hoping that this is a light-hearted joke.

First time I watched it, I didn't like it, second time, I didn't not like it, third time time I loved it! now Youtube gives me a message that says this video is not available in your country.

I had another Mika dream last night. I seem to have a lot of them over the Summer. This time, I was at a water park, and I was waiting in line to get on this HUGE water slide. Then I heard someone singing behind me, so I looked, and it was Mika! Oh, he was singing the Three's Company* theme song, btw. Just as I was about to get on the raft, Mika said "I can't wait to be thrown into the ocean!" I asked him what he was talking about, and he said that this water slide throws people into the ocean, and you have to swim back home, and that was "what makes it fun." So I freaked out because I'm not a good swimmer, but it was too late, our raft was heading down the slide. The whole way down, Mika kept giggling and saying "I'm a shark!" :aah:Then, just as we were thrown off the raft, I woke up with a start.
