Ok, so besides generally loving this song because 1. It's new Mika. 2. It's MIKA!!! I have to give a few thoughts... It sounds a touch more produced pop than his last album in my opinion. His older stuff was crazy poppy but it seemed a bit simpler. His voice sounds more produced on this one - I also think it's partially the choral vocals on top, too. But, no one can hide Mika's lyrics, which is one reason I absolutely love him. His lyrics hold so much to them, and the fact that he does that in straight poppy fun just makes me so happy. I guess after seeing him 'acoustic', I'm intrigued to see this performed live. But oh my god I cannot wait for the new album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly! Maybe the big prizes will go first - that one-of-a-kind thing. But I have a feeling the smaller stuff will be available for a while. I think it's kind of Mika to offer up the free stuff. I know a lot of people are frustrated, but man, I remember when I was a tween, when the boy bands were big, Backstreet Boys and N Sync. There were no freebies. If you wanted to get anything, you joined a fan club, paying big bucks. And then, there really weren't a ton of freebies. So enjoy the small things, folks!

um... not to be rude, but i can understand why they took you off the system. if you take time, over the course of even a week, i'm sure you could leave a lot of valid comments. but when you leave that many comments on your own page, it comes off as trying to use the system. i'm going to enjoy this point system for the small perks - free music, etc. but the big prizes? well, while meeting him after the nyc concert may not have been a champagne m&g, it was still amazing. as was the acoustic show. so... i don't know. i sort of just want to say to you all: Chillllll out!

So I read your post on pg 17, and I can understand where you're coming from. And honestly, that's one reason why I don't dedicate SO much time or money to being a fan. One part of me doesn't have the money and the other knows you're dealing with a fellow human. They can be flaky, fickle, and/or manipulated by others. Especially as a creative person. You have to realize, a lot of artists leave projects. A lot of them promise blogs. With MIKA, he makes himself so personally available at times that when things do fall through or he shows his flaky side, his fans take it personally. For me, when I have the money, I hope to invest it in his CDs. But for now, I use the points not as an obsession but a fun side project. If I benefit from it down the road, woohoo! If not, oh well.

I wanted to say, in general, in regards to the process of getting points and stuff... I personally don't think Mika ever plans to make something fair or "not". Honestly, I still believe that he has no clue that he is as loved and popular as he is. So he probably doesn't forsee the diehards going crazy over something like this. I mean, I think he understands he does have some popularity, but I could just tell, from his show in NYC, that he never seems to expect the adoration. It's totally worthy, but he's still a bit humble, which is nice. I mean, what artist would ever even allow the idea of a champagne meet and greet?!

Mac's "Preview" will rotate but doesn't save. At least, it never uploads rotated? I don't know... I decided to upload the whole album and then gonna shower and be productive. Let's hope it gets through! (I normally just rotate them on Facebook when I upload there, since my whole life seems to go on FB!)

That's lame! I'm afraid a lot of my pics won't get approved because they're not rotated. I know they're not as pretty, but I don't have any software that let's me easily do that.

ergh.. i realize it's new and thus they're still working on design and such. but why can't there be an easier way to upload photos? and tag an entire photo album as a particular show? i'm twiddling away part of my morning uploading, at least for now, half of the NYC show. i don't know how any of you Mika fans could have a "life" uploading everything. Fortunately, (more like unfortunately) I don't have a lot of his stuff. Buuuut, even a piece of signed artwork of his would make my life.

Me? No... I had some from a friend on my iPod. Then both my iPod and computer died on me. So, I do want to actually buy the older one and the new EP. I was literally about to do so tonight... And then I lost my job, and now that money needs to be saved. I can listen to his stuff online, youtube, pandora, etc. But I miss it on my iPod. :-/ But I generally don't like 'stealing' music. At least not for a smaller artist who deserves the support he gets from his CDs.

I was laid off from my internship today. I just realized I have no Mika in my music library anymore (I lost most of it when my laptop crashed). I want to go to another concert. Last week's was amazing. And it's the brightest spot of my memory now! Sorry to sound emo-licious, but it's not been a very happy day. [/blog]

thanks for the info about the celeste/celesta. i honestly don't even know what kind of instrument it is, so i was curious. i feel like being really grabby if you're that close is just rude. i adore mika. i want to hug him and, um, take him home with me. but i guess i never let myself get drunk enough to the point of rudeness. it was frustrating when people wouldn't shut up during the quieter songs. oh well... some people are inconsiderate, no matter what environment. so yeah, i can imagine it was probably a combination of the crowd proximity, drunk girls, and instrument feedback.

Be careful what you wish for. Ticketmaster, LiveNation, etc end up charging you crazy "ticket fees" for a concert. While I am willing to pay an arm and a leg for tickets, it's really annoying when a $25 ticket has an addition $13 fee! I wanted to see Adele live in May, and the ticket was listed for $35 but with fees, it was $50+. (They sold out before I could get tickets, unfortunately.) -

i was quite stumped when i first saw mika's twitter page, regarding albert the golden donkey. it's amusingly cute, but i wish i could figure out exactly what it's about... but then again, that is very mika-esque. he seems to enjoy keeping people curious/guessing and having his little inside jokes and such.
