  1. I have no idea.

I wanted tickets for Belfast but my 3V card randomly stopped working, so I had no way of booking one this morning. I imagine that's probably sold out now too.

Keep an eye on the spare tickets thread, that's what Shaza told me to do for the Belfast gig - you might get lucky with the Dublin one?

  2. I don't tend to talk about Mika to anyone (yet, it's getting to that point) but I know I'd get exactly the same response. And Cazgirl, that whole, 'he's so gay' thing is SO ANNOYING! I feel like saying, 'I have two gay friends and a bisexual friend, you gonna comment on their sexuality too? WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?!'

It's also largely coz he's a guy, you know. I get it about Tim Minchin, (my best mate always says, 'Noll, we've been through this, you'd be breaking up a family - he has a wife and kids!' and I'm like, 'did I mention anything beyond his music and ideas?) If it was a woman we were all obsessed with, we'd probably just be accused of wanting to be like her or something. It's so stupid. You don't have to want something on a personal level in ANY WAY to appreciate it artistically, aesthethically, etc etc.

    Grr, etc.

  3.

yeah, that for sure, it's winter, need thick jackets!

People are going to think I'm mad. Even the Irish. I LOVE the cold, and can't stand in ANY WAY to be warm or hot. Winter in Ireland is generally skirts/tights/light top/light cardigan weather for me. When it rains, I'd sooner bring a brolly than wear a heavy coat.

That said, I have leather jackets and a heavy fitted coat, but they're mostly for looks rather than keeping me warm - I'd not wear anything more than a string top under them in Winter! :roftl:

  4. I did that yesterday but they weren't really able to help me. They just said they would be updating the site.

I guess all we can do is hope so - and in your case, check ticketmaster at 9am tomorrow morning, as thats when all other general sales seem to be going on sale. It might randomly pop up.

  5. I found another site selling tickets for 110 Euro but I'm a bit wary of it.

If I ring the Olympia again they'll just tell me they have no idea what I'm talking about.

Is it possible to contact people at Ticketmaster directly??

Isn't this what happened last time? A gig was listed but then it never happened?

  6.

*On another ride, a little kid is holding onto his stuffed penguin very tightly*

kid's dad:"We can still get off if your scared."

    kid:"I'm not scared, Daddy."

kid's dad:"Are you sure? You're really gripping that penguin there."

kid:"That's because the penguin's scared. They don't have rides where he's from. Duh."

Kids can be so unwittingly clever sometimes haha. Awww.

*while my brother and I are eating, a very large hick with a mullet walks up to us*

    man: "What ya eating, kids?"

    me: "Veggie burgers."

    *man snorts*

    us:

man: "Wouldn't you like to try one of these?"

*puts disgusting sandwich in our faces*

    my brother:"What is that?"

man:"A bacon, peanut butter sandwich with powdered sugar and maple syrup."

    me:"No thanks."

man:"Well, good luck on trying to save the animals, hippies."

my brother:"Good luck trying to survive your next heart attack, sir."

    HOW RANDOM!! Hahaha that's brilliant!

  7. Buses the whole way would cost you €41. With a student card, Cork to Dublin is only €19, and Dublin to Belfast is €22, both return (obviously :naughty:).

    But that's a long trip.

Also, the earliest we could get to Belfast on the day would be 3.30pm. (Leave Cork at 8am.)

  8. Of course I don't mind! I don't particularly fancy a 7 hour bus/train journey on my lonesome thanks :naughty:

That's one thing I haven't decided on yet. I've been waiting to discuss it with Debbie, or anyone :naughty: It would save money travelling on the day, but it will be a LONG day, it's gonna take 7/8 hours, then we gotta queue outside the venue for God knows how many hours (Debbie you'll have a better idea of how early we need to get there) cos I've never been to an unreserved seats gig before. SO, hmm, I think we'll probably need to get there the night before. But I'm open to suggestions :naughty:

Ok, when I got the train from Cork to Belfast it cost 70 something euro return, which is quite pricey and I don't wanna pay that again, and that was with a student travelcard. But then when I looked up a bus from Cork - Dublin, then train from Dublin - Belfast (cos I couldn't find bus routes from Dublin to Belfast) it worked out as 60euro, which is not much less. So, I'm undecided about how to get there now. I need to find out bus eireann routes somehow cos I read somewhere they do a dublin-belfast service but their website says nothing about Northen Ireland.

Bahaha :roftl: Your friend just may have got the wrong idea if you contacted him out of the blue suggesting you meet up on Valentines Day. :naughty:

Do you actually have msn or something? It might be handier generally for sorting that kinda thing out, I'll add Debbie as well if she doesn't mind and we can work it all out together another time when we're all online? Might be an idea.... if you want.

I'll have a root through buses and trains and try to work something out. I'm no longer a student, so whatever you get, it'll be more for me :aah:

And LOL yeah, my mate has a girlfriend though so she's more likely to get a bad impression! Only met her for the first time two weeks ago, though they've been together four years. He's my best mate, and I see him maybe once a year coz he's so far away! :roftl:

  9. :roftl: Well when you put it that way she'll be the one insisting you go I think. :roftl:

I'm really happy for you now that you're decided to come too! Irish mfcers will be well represented! :punk:

Oh I hope so. It'd make sense to travel with you as far as Dublin and pick up other people there if they're on the way (would it? well if you want! Of course you can say no, I don't mind :blush-anim-cl:) so one question - will you be going to Belfast the day of the gig, or the day before? I really have no idea about going to Belfast, I've never travelled there. Advice? :aah:

I might, MIGHT try and meet my mate from Longford on the day inbetween gigs too. It'd be nice to see him. It'd be pretty convenient too.

Edit: Wait, no, that's Valentine's Day. That's about as inconvenient as it can be! Buggar.

  10. My wallet disagrees! But I'm looking at it this way - I was going to get a new tattoo two weeks ago in Dub but didn't coz I couldn't decide on the design, so now I'm transferring that €150 odd to tickets and travel for Mika. It'll accumulate over my birthday (next month) and Christmas. Ta-daaa!

I'm good at justifying bold things. :teehee:

Also, my mother will be pleased by how non-permenant a trip up the country is, compared to ink in my skin :roftl:

  11. My laptop is going to die soonish. Well, the power lead is anyway. It's a cheapy thing I got on ebay when my last one exploded (technology, eh? Not my doing at all, I swear!) but now the wire is wearing out and it's going to break. It crackled at me just now  I selotaped it in place to shut it up. Electrocution, anyone?

  12.

I understand the money thing. It isn't cheap if you're a student and not working, even grants dissappear too quick.:boxed: But this is a rare thing here, Mika playing two gigs that you don't have to fly to.

I hope somehow you can go.

Awwwwwwwww Deb that sounded so sweet!! I WANT TO GO!!

Buggar it I'm going. General sale here I come, etc.

    I'll worry about money later.

You's all have to mind me though, I've never been to Belfast :biggrin2:

  13. Sadly not. It was a choice between the two and I didn't want to fly on my own (I wear hearing aids and have been known to get on the wron trains etc because I misheard an announcement!) so when i discover Ruth was flying to Dublin that decided it for me.

Ahh alright. Still! Trust me, Dublin is the place to be :naughty: As it stands I'm only going to Dublin too.

  14. They seem to be gradually adding the dates to Ticketmaster so I wouldn't worry. He's bloody well coming to Dublin this time! I'll drag him back from Belfast with me if I need to! I've not paid 50euro for nothing! xD

If you find yourself in a position to drag him anywhere, drag him to Cork.... we can mind him. :teehee:

  15. Cool :teehee: I've only ever been to Dublin Zoo. Last time we made a leaving cert biology class trip up there, and sung "We're going to the zoo zoo zoo, how about you you you" the whole way there. :naughty: I want to do that again :naughty:

Last time I went to Dublin Zoo was round when Jurassic Park was new and they had this dinosaur section, with robotic dinosaurs and things. It terrified me, I was quite little :naughty:

I prefer Fota though, not as many exotic sorta animals, but they have acres of land to wander round, and half of the small ones are loose!

  16. Lol! I'm Vicky. Or my nickname is Fish (hence the username I was feeling uncreative the day i signed up!) I'll respond to either! :thumb_yello:

I like quirky names so I think I'm going to call you Fish :naughty:

Are you going to the Belfast gig too?
