Of course! I'll let you know what they say.
Cheers!

sitting! never been there too
http://www.academy-hotel.ie/admin/assetmanager/images/thatre%20image.jpg
Oh wow Mika will have a field day decorating that!!
Blossom said both sitting and standing - Blossom is there any chance you could ask tomorrow when you're asking about the wheelchair areas if they know whether it'll be all seated or seated and standing?
-
It's both seating and standing but I think it really depends on the gig. I guess I should ring them tomorrow to inquire about wheelchair areas.
Yeah, that's probably a good idea.
-
Question for my fellow countrymen: I've never been to the Olympia - is it all seating or will there be standing too?
-
Will only be able to make it to the Olympia gig but it's better than nothing.
Nothing wrong with that at all! I'm definately going to that, if I can work out how in God's name I'm going to book a ticket in the morning, and I'm going to dream about Belfast a little longer
-
You might be right Nolliag but I don't think it hurts any of us to be polite & helpful in case this really is an eleven year old with their frist crush on a pop star etc.
I would hate to be responsible for partly ruining the experience.
It only happens once!!
Sorry - I don't mean to lecture - I am just thinking it isn't worth the chance of ruining something really special.
It does look suspicious - two so close together - but hey - so what?
I know, but everyone else was being helpful, so I chose to be observant.
Sorry, it's the Moderator in me coming out - I'm a Mod on other forums and I hunt spam down like the plague.
-
Blossom are you going to one or both gigs??
-
Dont worry IF my mum will let me it will only be Dublin so you wont be the only one!
I wish Dublin was first so we could all have our Mikasplosion together, and then the others enjoy their second gig. Coz if they're seen him two nights before, it's a bit more subdued.
-
You have to go! Travelodge is good value, or even a hostel in Dublin...I hope you can.
Either way, there are two to choose from! You are going to one!!
It's tommorrow morning...I think I'll just show up late, I don't want to miss it.
Oh I'm going to the Dublin one. There's no doubt there. I'll just be insanely jealous if everyone else goes to both gigs and I only go to one! I'VE NEVER SEEN MIKA BEFORE! I REQUIRE MASSIVE, CONDENSED QUANTITIES! Breathe Noll.
I just can't believe he's actually coming to Dublin.
Oh crap, how am I gonna get the ticket on pre-sale, I have no credit card!
Regarding lectures - you're a better student than I ever was!
-
Excited! Mika in 2010!
-
?
Valentine's Day.
-
Yeah, there's two days between them, so it is possible to go to both!
I'm thinking...
I have a class at 9am though...
I would love to go to both but I really don't think I can afford two gigs, plus accommodation for at least three days (and realistically, four days).
Can't you skip one lecture?!
-
I'm happy that there are two dates in Ireland.
I am too, but I can't afford both, nor the accommodation required to stay up the country for three or four days
-
Thanks Dcdeb!
Dublin!!
*Insert indescribable quantities of glee here*
I could cry..
My heart is actually palipatating, this is ridiculous. Dublin and Belfast?!
You gonna go to both??
-
I'm so happy! Way less distance!! AAAAHHHHH!!! Something to look forward to!

Dublin!!!!!!!!!

I tried watching Clockwork Orange once. Well, sort of. I flicked my TV on and it was already on...I remember a scene of whiteness and naked ladies and I think they were being raped? Something about shadows on the wall.
And then this guy sitting on his bed with this man and the man was talking SO F*CKING FAST - faster than me, I swear to God - and I just zoned out, completely lost interest, and turned it off lol
It's a classic. Very visual but all about the psychology behind the story. It's not the sorta thing you can just jump into I have no idea if it would be your thing (obviously, I don't know you) but it is one of those 'everyone should give it a proper go at least once' kinda classics.

Oh yes, one of my absolute favourites. Really sick but so smart. And I mean the doctors were sick, not poor Alex
Have you read the book? Fantastic book too. The original ending is really important I think.
I have indeed read the book, and while I agree the original ending is important, I still didn't like the book overall because I hated all the slang. I know the whole point was to indoctrinate the reader into speaking this psuedo-language just like the indoctrination in the story and movie, but it just annoyed me
Also, I agree, I didn't know about Katy Perry's dress and thought of Victor/Victoria!
-
Oh really? Oh the opening just hooked me, this and Pick Up Off The Floor (they have a similar subdued, melancholic sorta sound, which obviously changes in Dr. John during the chorus) and I just loved it. Admittedly, the chorus grated a bit in Dr. John the first few listens but then I loved it.
-
Thought so. I already drew him in the customised TBWKTM suit I drew. I think what I'll do is have Mika sprawled back in the table seats with his feet up (just a silhouette) and have Dr.John, also a silhouette (but with the distinctive beard and feather shapes) sitting at the actual bar. Maybe back turned to Mika.... or off to one side...
I really shouldn't be talking about this in this thread haha!
I do love this song though. It was an instant favourite when I heard it.
-
Warning if you do: it's a very odd movie. A lot to understand and you really have to get past the sickening violence and things that happen and get to the core of the idea to appreciate what was trying to be done.
Superb movie though.
-
I'm definately into more arty, abstract things too generally speaking. This bar won't look realistic, it'll be more like a watercolour impressionist style mess Only realistic things I do are portraits.
Dr. John is the dude on the cover of the new album isn't he? With the feathers and yellow coat?
-
Really, it's extra hard when you think something is going to happen and it doesn't.
We learned our lesson from before.
Never expect anything in Mikaland, just be pleasantly surprised if everything works out.
Yeah I know, I'm really not getting my hopes up.
Mostly coz Dublin would OWN BELFAST. Mostly coz it's closer and thus cheaper for me
-
Everyone keeps saying that about all my art! It'll (hopefully) all be in the yearbook, so everyone will see it
This bar one is the next on my list though. I have no real reason to do it other than that the image is so ingrained in my head - which is partially why I love Mika. He inspires so much of my art. I might actually, if you don't mind, try to incorporate a sort of ghostly figure of a younger Mika with one of these 'lovers' and the parents standing near by...or maybe incorporate a ghostly figure of Dr. John....
You have any mad art skillz?? Even if you don't, I'll credit the concept partially to you as you've inspired another bit of it.
