  1. In my opinion a re-release wasn't necessary of No Place in Heaven, I'm not too fond of any of the 'new' songs. But the symphonic disc should have been a full-release of the full gig, 'cause that disc sounds so amazing and breathtaking. His music really works well in these arrangements. Totally fan of that part of the album, so bit of a shame it isn't released as a stand-alone, 'cause I can imagine it would have created some attention of the media!
  2. If, and only if, they show the complete concert. Whoever, most of the televised gigs are very edited and have some songs and speeches cut out. Which is very unfortunate if that would happen, 'cause it would be awesome to get the complete gig ;-)
  3. Let's hope we get all the songs in some way in the end, be it through a CD-release or a DVD-release, that would be just awesome. 'Cause it's shame it's only 14 songs indeed (although my idea is still that's what they really wanted to do 'cause most of the webshops have in their description saying the second disc contains 20 live songs... So somewhere down the road for some reason they took 6 tracks out of the tracklistening...)
  4. Totally agree, but I can imagine it isn't Mika's first point in creating music. He just want to enjoy himself in what he does and what he creates. Without thinking if it will sell or not. I guess he's in the possibility to do things just for fun. (Like the symphonic gigs, I think they cost a awful lot of time (and maybe money) to create, yet he only did 4 of those gigs so far. (But let's hope he takes those gigs around the world at some time )
  5. But not every artists wants millions fans or people who buy the record. And artist wants to share what he or she has created and that's where the completely story ends. No-one needs to tell him what he has to do. If his next album is completely in French he will certainly sell a whole lot less records, if that what he wants to do that's okay. That's his choice, an artist isn't any better 'cause he sold million of records and fills stadiums instead of small rooms with an acoustic feeling. (And I guess the thing he said about getting laid was just a jokingly expression to show people he reads their comments and what they think about it. He didn't probably mean to offend anyone in their, or at least, I wouldn't take it like that ;-))
  6. Well, I guess it goes both ways as people who are against the French tracks on a (almost) worldwide release negate the opinion of the people who think "let Mika do whatever he wants and put out the songs he wants in the countries he wants". Everybody has their own opinion and nobody is obligated to buy an album with songs the do or do not love/like. In my opinion an artist does what he wants the way he wants it. I can decide if I want to buy that album or not, and every now and then an artist does things I don't like and sometimes he does things I absolutely adore. Does the album not appeal to you, you don't have to buy it and you'll probably be able to download songs from iTunes as well. He probably can't do right for everybody. Mika has his own opinion as well and it seems he isn't allowed as well by some of the comments I've read by the way ;-) To be on topic: as Fedez is singing in Italian on "Beautiful Disaster" and Gravity is an very authentic Italian song translated in English I can quite imagine the people who don't like those French songs won't like these songs as well. So I was just pointing out that the Italian tracklist might be not as perfect as well.
  7. When he said he would release a live-album of the OSM gigs I thought it would be a stand-alone and would cost as much as the NPIH stand-alone disc, I think €20 is the price for every album you buy, either it is a stand alone or a double album. I actually "hate" the idea of repacks 'cause it means I have to buy an album I already have (like 14/15 songs) and only get 4 new songs (which are, in my opinion just left-overs from studio-recordings and would have been released as B-sides on singles in the good old days). So I actually would have loved a stand-alone album of the OSM-disc, although it would have probably costed me as much as this double-album would. I don't need a second NPIH disc 'cause I've already bought it, yet this repack only focusses on fans (as most of the repacks actually) and they always contain an albums fans already have. Repacks probably means they enter the charts again as NPIH and generate airplay and free promotion for an album that already exists. So I probably end up listening to just one disc of the two 'cause the majority of the songs of the first disc are already in my collection (To get to the skip-part, on the Italian version you'll probably skip 4 tracks as well as there are Italian songs on it and 2 French tracks as well. 'Cause I read most people just the English tracks, I wanted to point this out the Italian version contains non-English tracks as well...)
  8. According to this website (http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/mika-mika-et-lorchestre-symphonique-de-montral/6000195489748) it seems like it will be the same disc, just as a stand-alone album
  9. Well, Mika doesn't choose to do or not to do any promo, that's down to his record company. I can't recall where I read or heard he said something about doing promo, but it was something about his record company who stopped doing promo after only a few weeks for TOOL. I think we shouldn't complain about Mika not doing any promo 'cause the man is touring almost non-stop, even if there is no new album to promote. And like said: re-packs is the record company deciding (not Mika, 'cause Mika hadn't probably much to say about a re-pack or a stand-alone version) to put out an album they know will make money out of fans by putting a few "new" (read: recycled) songs and something extra (in this case: OSM disc).
  10. I actually love the Stardust version with Chiara, and I've been looking for a studio recording of Lollipop with the Italian intro sung by Mika. And I don't speak a word Italian. I think it just sounds very nice and I totally love it. It's true when you say you'd probably wouldn't listen to a complete album in a foreign language, but that isn't the case by Mika. It's just a few songs and as longs it's a few songs I'm totally okay with it. I think the whole point about the repackage is, most of the countries hadn't the chance to buy the albums with the French songs, but putting them on the repackage those countries don't only get 3 or 4 new songs, they also get 3 or 4 songs added to their collection they hadn't had the chance to add them to their collection earlier. But in my opinion the most important part of this repackage is the symphonic CD. You don't like those French songs? Good, there's still like 12 English songs and a complete symphonic album, so just skip them. (You don't have to agree with everything your idol does, there are a few songs I don't really like on TOOL for example, but I have the choice to just skip those tracks when I listen to that album.)
  11. It's actually funny 'cause I live in Belgium (and you may know or you don't, but we have a Dutch speaking part and a French speaking part and language is still a big issue here...). Funny thing is, as a Dutch speaking person who isn't really in love with the French language I only wanted to buy the French deluxe version 'cause of the extra songs, which I wanted 'cause my idol made them and so they're part of his repertoire. Problem was, that version was only released in the French speaking part of our very little country and actually very hard to get hands on in the Dutch speaking part. I think an artist has the freedom to create stuff he likes and loves and doesn't have to think about what might sell and what might not sell. It's okay to no be in love with some songs, and you don't have to understand all of the songs you listen to. So, then again, I don't think fans (or well, some of them, but I'm sure not all of them) will let this album left aside 'cause it's a re-issue or it includes French songs or whatever. I think most fans will buy the album because of the second disc anyway. And let's face it, the price would have been the same either way. Now you only get a few extra songs you didn't have before. You can perfectly skip those few French tracks (which are actually quite okay by the way).
  12. I guess we all expected a stand alone album of the symphonic gig after his tweet earlier this year. But if you look at the evolution of the music market in the last 5 years, re-issue have become, unfortunately, a very common thing. In November there will be a lot of re-issue with an extra disc or a tour DVD (Take That is re-releasing their "III" with a tour DVD and a few new songs, Olly Murs is doing the same,...), Mika has his repack.... I guess in that way the charts don't take it as a complete new CD and therefore it's easier to re-enter the charts with the same album and gain a bit of easy promotion. Most of the fans buy whatever their idol releases anyway, even if that means they'll get the same CD maybe 6 times.
  13. Almost every webshop selling it has in it's description saying the repack includes a live-album with 20 titles. That's why most people on here are talking about 20 songs, I don't remember Mika saying any number about the live-album.
  14. They certainly can put more than 20 songs on a disc. I have CD's in my collection with a running time of 86 minutes so (but that will be probably the longest running time of a single disc though...)
  15. What a shame it's only 14 songs I guess they first planned to do 20 songs but for some reason they reduced it to 14 (maybe a the live-DVD, maybe 'cause they weren't happy with some of the songs,...?)
  16. Seems like the OSM will be 14 songs only and not the complete gig after all
  17. I think it means Canada, Japan and Korea will get the OSM-cd as a stand alone album and as past of the NPIH re-pack? It also says that for the Italian version "Beautiful Disaster" will be with Fedez, while "Beautiful Disaster" is also on the not-Italian version, so that actually means there is a Mika only version of it I guess?
  18. Dutch website Bol has updated the tracklist, only 14 songs for the second disc, but again, the information about the CD says 20 live-tracks. I'm afraid they wanted to do the complete gig at first but were only happy with 14 of the songs or so...
  19. I saw this tracklist earlier on the Belgian Fnac site, and like I said, this picture is from the discography-topic on this forum ;-)
  20. This is the tracklist I saw earlier (and this is from a post in the discography-topic), I still do hope this will be the tracklist for the re-release!
  21. Maybe that's just for the Italian version 'cause Fedez parts are in Italian?
  22. Weird the symphonic CD has only 14 songs anymore, I remember that the tracklistening on Fnac said 20 songs before (which, if I remember correctly, was the complete setlist of the OSM shows). Amazon FR says the symphonic has 20 songs, but only lists 14 songs as well...
  23. Hopefully we get some official news very soon so we know what exactly we can expect of the repack.
