    I agree, harmonizing doesn't work as well for them. Better when they just trade off. But I saw Mika on my TV, I'm happy either way!

    Does that rendition sound really weak or am I just spoiled by the real thing? I can't tell. Either way, I'm happy. It's such a Mika-y week in the US between that and Leno tonight!

    Those pics - ARIANA IS SO TINY AND MIKA IS SO TALL. IT'S SO CUTE. I CAN'T EVEN. I'm so excited for this even though I've heard the song a million times and it's not like I'm actually there and I feel like Leno is the wrong demographic. As a relatively new fan in the US, I've never seen Mika on my TV before!

    I would like to think that this will shut up the morons who say he "ripped off Wicked" once and for all, but I know it won't... That's so cool, though!

    I think I know what you mean. Sometimes you like a band or a singer, and then you see interviews with them and it turns out they're a jerk or just no fun at all, and it kind of ruins the music for you. Obviously this is not the case with Mika, listening to him talk is pretty much as good as listening to him sing. Anyway, welcome!

    Really! Makes me wonder if the GR my family used to have was one - looked a lot more like Mel. All GRs seem to have the same lovely, dopey attitude, though.

    So I definitely just spent most of my evening hunting down radio stations in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, and Illinois and requesting they play MIKA... Unfortunately I'm too lazy to actually call in, so I only covered stations that took online or text requests. Ugh... I just want more of the U.S to get with the program! I feel so alone as a MIKA fan in Ohio.

    God, I love Mel! I was on vacation when the SNOL interview came out, and I got really homesick for my dog - I have a golden retriever too, though mine is much fatter and lighter in color. He's a champ for being able to lift a dog that size so easily! They're heavy.

    I do have a twitter but I don't use it much - when I do it's usually about writing. I don't mention MIKA much over there - it's my tumblr where the obsession comes out. (needless to say as my username there is also shouldilookolder)

    When you request one of his songs on the radio station every day in hopes that it will find a bigger audience... When you've completely forgotten what the lyrics to "Popular" originally were in Wicked, even though you new that version long before you knew who MIKA was.

    Yes, the Philly show was fantastic! We (hubby and I) stopped in VA the night before to see some friends, then left for Philly - the trip was terrible! Between traffic and toll booths and the GPS insisting we take roads in DC that weren't open anymore, I was starting to think I wouldn't even get there! But it was worth it (and so was the similarly terrible eight hour drive home the next day.) Every time I hear the second verse of "Popular Song" I feel a little relieved because of that night when he couldn't remember the words and had to look them up online... I have no idea how I found WAG! I was watching some other video and YouTube recommended it to me... I wish I could remember what video that was.

    I heard "Grace Kelly" in the middle of a grocery store (Kroger). And I heard "Popular Song" in a giftshop in Gatlinburg, TN. Since I live in the U.S both of these incidents seemed like miracles.

    I actually heard this on the radio the other day and just about hyperventilated. I have NEVER heard any MIKA song on the radio before. Since then I've been filling out request forms for it to my local station every day. So excited for Leno now!

    I wish I could say I've been a fan from the beginning, but the truth is I stumbled on the video for We Are Golden only last November and my life has never been the same since! I went to the Philadelphia show on April 8th (even though I live in Columbus, OH - it was the closest show I could get to as Chicago sold out in a flash) and literally dream of my next chance to go to a concert. (MIKA is actually in my dreams embarrassingly often, but that's a separate issue...) As for the rest of my life, I'm a food service slave by day and a novelist by night.
