  2. How I feel your "pain" I sent all of mine two days ago and received one so far, it's fun as hell I posted it on The Voice thread
  3. Yeah he does He had that "poor thing" look the whole evening, it was quite sad, but he still managed to be his bubbly self at times, so that's that
  4. Thank you all, I'm glad you like it I don't know about that, he looked really exhausted and sick but he has the last battles of The Voice to shoot tomorrow. After that though, I don't know what he's doing ! Hopefully he'll catch up on some sleep for a few days, I wouldn"t want him to be sick for Christmas! (And me neither, because what I didn't tell is that I now AM sick as well, pretty sure I got some Mika virus in me right now. My mum called it "superMikaflu" )
  5. Ohhhhhhhh nice one You kicked ass I'm over here like "what are we doing with our lives "
  6. LMFAO That quote is gold. You're gold. I mean, that's kinda true though At least my virus is a badass one
  7. Hey guys! So, I went to The Voice yesterday and I wrote a tiny ugly little report in French (for now, I'm about to translate it in English). I thought you might enjoy it (BTW, there isn't too many spoilers about the candidates as I didn't write much about them.) TRANSLATION Report of the second battles of The Voice - 15th December 2015 So, I'm gonna try to condense what happened as precisely as possible. I arrived to the studio under pouring rain (see what I did there) and waited with a friend for ages. Stress is rising a bit, we saw Goupil, the guy who's always doing his little Q&A with the coaches after the show, before people placed us in the right bleachers, the best place in my opinion because we had full view of the coaches, the new set for the battles in a form of a ring and the musicians that were in the back on a little stage. Plus, Mika was on the right as well so we got to have him really close to us. We were on the first row, and some cameraman told us we'd have the families of the candidates right behind us, which meant we had the camera shooting on us the whole evening But that had its advantages, I'll talk about it later Anyways, the warm up guy tells us what we have to do, the lights are tested, Nikos, the presenter, comes in and the show begins. A first take of the song that the coaches were about to sing ("Emmenez-moi" from Aznavour slightly changed) is taken only for the musiciens, then one for us and one for the coaches who are announced one by one, Mika being the last. A smile shows up on my face when I also noticed his outfit: a dark blue suit with colorful eyes sewn all over it. Classy and crazy Mika strikes again! They all sing the song, Mika doesn't mix up the lyrics which is a miracle Nikos was willing to point out after the shot was done! The coaches then went to their seats, and Baptista, a candidate from last year, came on stage to cover a song. Once she finished, the battles began. The first song was "Show Must Go On" by Queen which drove Mika insanely happy (although his energy declined a little bit throughout the night) and set the tone of the night. Indeed, Mika was sick He kept coughing and coughing some more the whole time, so much that Nikos even told him to "take a break if he needed to" and gave him a little homemade remedy: tea, honey and a lot of whiskey He actually said after he himself coughed that he got also sick because of Mika, because he shouldn't have "kissed him" (nobody knows if he was talking about an actual kiss or just a "hello" kiss ) The performances go by fast and it's hard for everyone to keep a candidate and not the other one because they are all amazing in their own way. Mika lost sense of his french multiple times through those hard times and invented some new words and phrases like "esuless (useless)", "In the same time (at the same time)" or "I felt your uncomfortable (I felt your uneasiness)" which made everyone laugh I found it absolutely adorable (although part of it was probably because of his dislexia as well). Later on, another one of those precious Mika-fails made the 500 people present in the public laugh. By wanting to compare a candidate, his voice and the sensations, he said "it feels like in the woods at 3am, alone". Nikos immediately talked about the "Bois de boulogne" (famous for being full of prostitutes) and everyone nicely teased Mika who looked quite unfased He also said after a performance and about a girl that he "liked his face" but he used a swearword in french so Nikos told him to do it again but without this word and he looked lost and messed up his take. After awhile, about 3 hours in, the break arrived and Mika wanted to walk his dogs, so he left the room. But there wasn't enough time so we never ended up seing the dogs and when Nikos asked for the coaches to show up again, nobody could find Mika Nikos asked for Florent to come and that's when Mika showed up, in the wrong time, so he came back inside with the look of a 5 year old caught doing something bad on his face The performances start again. Garou took the habit of Mika of sitting on top of the arms of the chair, and twice the hairdresser tried to fix Mika's hair but, honestly, that didn't change anything! Mika was shaking his head all the time anyways haha. Florent (who's really tine in real life!) has troubles chosing a candidate and Mika saves another one. Later on, a second one, a girl, is saved as well by either Garou or Zazie, I can't remember exactly. At one point though, I saw Mika pressing on the button to save a second talent, 3 times, but nothing happened! So the game might be "faked" a little bit because he should have saved this girl... Right after that, some techniciens came on the ring, took off one of the slabs on the floor (making Nikos parody another show here in France called "Fort Boyard"). The buttons might be all linked underneath, so that would explain why Mika's button didn't work. But does that mean that the game is a LIE NOW Haha, I might be crazy but I honestly saw him try three times to press it. Anyways, after one performance, Mika started talking about a memory he had when he was around 5 of a parade he saw in the streets, and tanks, and while the show went on, he was counting something on his fingers, looking really concentrated. After like 2 whole minutes, I saw him turn towards Florent and show him the numer "6" with his fingers ! So Mika was 6 when that happened. A+ for the interesting anecdotes and bad grades in maths He then proceeded to play with Florent's hands on and off for 10 minutes. What a child ! Oh, and about the tanks, Nikos mentionned something about the Gay Pride and Mika looked confused, so when the take was done Nikos said to him that, basically, "hey, nothing personnal, just a joke" haha. A few emotional moments later, the performances are done and the debriefing begins and lasts fir about 15 more minutes. At this point, Mika constantly refrained himself from coughing and legit was falling asleep in his chair (his eyes even shut for 10 seconds before he suddenly came back to himself like ''Oops'' ) Altogether he was a bit less energetic than usual but he was still...Mika ! Do I even need to say anything more to explain what that means? My friend and I waited for him after the show, but although he usually stops and says goodnight, this time his van didn't stop, which I'm actually glad he didn't because, boy he needed to rest and take that advice that Nikos gave him ! What was surprising though was that his mum was driving his car right behind the van Didn't expect that one ! Voilà. Overall, I don't know what to say to end this little report, but it was a wonderful experience that I wish everyone could live ! Oh, and yeah, Mika did smile and stare back at me at one point which, not gonna lie, made me melt a little The perks of being right behind the families is that the coaches looked in our direction a lot ! Told ya ! You are allowed to hate me a little, but not too long I hope this little report pleased you, it's not perfect and I'm tired because I just came back from Paris a few hours ago, but I had to write it before it was too confused in my head. I just remembered something random as well: Mika said at one point he didn't like / get star wars, my friend and I were over there like "YOU GET US!'' and the rest of the studio kinda yelled at him and he was like "Sorry not sorry" haha.
  8. What's "funny" is that since yesterday I'm sick... I think I got the flu because of him He kept coughing without especially covering his mouth with his hand all the time so the virus legit stuck with me My mum was like "at least you've got a superMikaflu". I died a little when she told me that
  9. Yeah, I had seen him the previous day live in a French show on TV, he was already coughing here and there, but at The Voice yesterday he was literally expulsing his lungs Everyone was like "Mika if you need a break, just tell us!". That made me a little And knowing he's not stopping to get better is like
  10. Haha I understand why Poor thing was sick though, he had to leave afterwards although he usually stays ! But I'd rather have him home safe than all messed up
  11. Thank you all, that was the best thing I've ever seen Mika smiled back at me during a break, I think I melted a little bit I'm about to write a report in French that I'm gonna translate afterwards !
  12. Oh my God same. Like, right now, I have to go to sleep because I have to wake up at 6am tomorrow (you know, to go to Paris AND SEE MIKA AT THE VOICE) BUT MFC is holding me back Now, I'm gonna go though, would be too bad to sleep tomorrow because of Mika when really I'm about to see him lol
  13. That was such a cute show I laughed the whole time ! Poor thing seemed lost a couple times, and dear boy he's really crappy at games Can't wait to see him tomorrow at The Voice
  14. This is the cutest thing, I'm legit dying over this. Mika must be such a sweetheart to be around !
  15. So I was wondering: do you guys ever write about Mika? Whether it's a story, a litle text or a whole fanfiction? I love writng, and while listening to Beautiful Disaster, I kinda got inspired to write something, like an ongoing fanfiction. I'm gonna post what I wrote so far and you guys can tell me what you think of it? (Also keep in mind English, although I love it and everything, isn't my first language so there might be mistakes, I'm sorry in advance). Please post your writings, I'm really interested! I never really came accross any stories (as if in a lot and actually readable ) on the Internet, here's your moment to show us your talents (PS: Of course I trust you guys to not take my story and claim it as your own. Copyrights and everything ) BEAUTIFUL DISASTER 'Do you trust me ?' 'Of course I do.' 'Well, come on then, I need to know what happened. I want to help you get out of this... thing, this state of mind that you're trapped in. Share your story with me.' Mika took a big breath, staring into the pleading eyes facing him. 'Okay.' 'I didn't ask for this. How am I going to make it ? How can I possibly make it without snapping ?' The typical questions were running messily inside Mika's mind while he exposed smiles. Confusing, depressing, heartbreaking and slightly frightening. As he was getting older, his thoughts became darker and darker, until the fifteen year-old looking back at him in the mirror couldn't even recognize himself. His reflection scared him at least as much as he scared his surroundings. His mum, although giving him all the love she could, couldn't reassure him. His sisters, their hugs and smiles couldn't possibly help him in the long run. His little brother, too busy playing with his toys, couldn't make him feel better either. And his dad, himself still struggling to go on in life after what had happened to him years and years ago during the golf war, had a hard time focusing on Mika's well being despite his unconditional love. His whole family had always taught him to stay happy, keep his head up and try to be as much of a good person as he could possibly be, so he put an act trying to look okay on a daily basis when all he wanted was to stay in bed and cry for hours. Of course, his parents knew it was fake when he came home with bruises on his cheek a couple years back. “Bruises? What happened?” “Bullying.” Mika's mum, Joanie, had taken him on the side to avoid scaring his siblings. After he tried to lie and say he fell on the ground, he just looked at her, eyes filled with tears. She sighed, hugged him, told him everything was going to be okay, that soon they would stop harassing him, that it was just a 'phase'. Those words, Mika held onto them for years, but when he saw nothing was getting better, only worse, he started doubting she was right. At first, they would only call him weird and forbid him to join them at lunch. Mika hadn't said anything, thinking they were probably right but didn't care – or so he pretended. 'It's much more beneficial to be alone and free than surrounded by idiots' his mother always said. Slowly, a few people became a few teams leagued against him. More and more kids decided he wasn't a normal human being because of his flamboyant looks and odd interests, and deserved to be punished for that. So the words became harsher as they got older, more painful. 'Weird' became 'faggot', 'idiot' became 'scumbag' and 'waste of space'. Feeling rejected, lonely, hated, Mika started to create a world inside his head where he felt secure. But every time someone called him for whatever reason, his bubble burst and he suddenly felt his feet on the cold floor, his empty mind desperately focused on trying not to have his big brown eyes water. School didn't help him feel at home either. Growing up dyslexic in France, it hadn't been easy for him to suddenly change his language when his family moved to London. Lost in a whirl of new words, he outdid himself in order to adopt a new culture and somewhat fit in. Although in a French school, his struggles only got worse over time. He kept mixing the two languages, and could barely read at times. But instead of giving him special help, his teachers would yell at him for getting bad grades, telling him he was a failure and would never make it in life with such an attitude. Mika never told them his struggles – at first. “But it didn't change anything when I did.” “Why?” “They didn't care. I got expelled a couple days afterward.” His dad went nuts when Mika came back home that day and told his parents the school wanted to get rid of him. 'What did you do? Do you have any idea how expensive that is to send you there? We can't afford paying the rest of the year for nothing.” his dad said. “Dad, I told them I had troubles reading and writing despite me trying extremely hard a few days ago. They laughed and asked me to shut my lying mouth and go back home.” “They told you to shut up?” his mum indignantly exclaimed. Her son stayed silent while staring at nothing above her shoulders. “So what did you do once they -” “- got rid of me like a piece of garbage? I felt relieved, at first. My mum especially really supported me, I found a job as a waiter so I could afford piano lessons. But even then, the troubles kept coming in.” Now working, Mika's dad indeed decided his son was brave enough to hold on and agreed with his wife when she said yes to pay half of his piano lessons. Mika was thrilled, this sudden change in his life wasn't turning out so bad after all. He had a pretty regular life, getting up at eight in the morning four times a week, secretly trying to find some chords on his piano and compose whatever he could, going to bed early. Working cleared his mind, he didn't have to think about anything but his customers' desires, and even though it could get boring or stressing in the long run, at least he felt free. Nobody really cared or knew him there, and Mika wasn't complaining. “Well, except one time.” “What do you mean?” “One guy kinda reminded me where I was coming from, if I may say.” Winter was coming. The curly haired teenager had turned 16 in August which was a scary thought to think about. Time was flying way too fast to Mika's tastes and he had started to feel anxious about life in general. After a couple months, he had managed to save enough money to start having his piano lessons. His mum helped him find a teacher, who turned out to be a Russian women with supposedly lots of experience with beginners. What her paper didn't say though, was that she was beyond severe and quite unfriendly despite Mika trying his best to behave and come out nice. The first lesson scared the crap out of him, but her ways of teaching aside, he slowly started to get better and could finally feel proud of himself. “Those lessons were something. I was equally scared and excited to have them once a week!” But a couple months had indeed passed since his first butchered try at reading a piano sheet, and the weather was indeed getting cold. Everyone started to feel a bit depressed. Everything was gray and sad looking, and Mika was no exception: his mood declined pretty quickly. His mind started to think too much again, his smiles were getting more rare without totally disappearing. “So, everyone was pretty down, you were down too. But who's that guy you're talking about?” “I was about to get through this.” While life went on, Mika was going on with his life. He was used to work by now and even became a little close to his colleagues – enough to not feel weird around them, at least. Nobody minded each other, it was overall a pretty friendly atmosphere, until one day a client decided otherwise. “You know, I was sitting at an empty table during a break, minding my own business, when a guy who must have been a couple years older than me came to my face. I was wondering who that could be since I haven't had anyone talking to me at the restaurant – my colleagues aside. So I looked up and saw his face. He looked like he wanted to murder me. Literally.” “What did you do to make him so angry?” “To this day, I still don't know.” Mika had had a normal morning, and had never seen this man before. He kept wondering what was wrong with him as the conversation started. “He asked me and I quote, 'What the #### are you doing sitting on your ass?'” “Okay, that's lovely.” “So I got up to face him, but I was still calm, and I told him that I was in my break and, you know, asked him how my spare time was any of his concern. But keep in mind, I was still extremely nice to him. He was a customer, so I had to act cool.” But Mika's attempts to calm the guy miserably failed as his face became angrier. “I was sitting at this table, there, do you see that thing there, with chairs around? Yes, a table.” “Well, I wouldn't expect you to do anything else in a restaurant” Mika had answered statistically but still trying to cheer the blonde. “Don't you ####ing dare.” He answered, threatening. “I'm waiting for someone to come and take care of me and all I see is your s**tty face smiling at some paper on a dirty table.” “I mean, this guy clearly forgot how to human being.” “Ha!” Mika had started to feel his anger rising, mixed with a slight fear of what might happen due to his past. But he decided that customer or not, that asshole wasn't allowed to treat him like a slave. “I saw you over there. But I'm having a break, and it's not my job to take orders anyway.” “I don't give a s**t what your job is. Your job right now is to please me. That's all you are to me.” The anger, the bad day, Mika could understand, forget and even forgive. But this particular sentence hit him harder than he'd thought. All the memories came back and he felt his whole body froze as the man facing him got dangerously closer and closer to him. To be continued...
