After her first successful album Life in Cartoon Motion in 2007, Mika is back in the spotlight with a new album expected in stores in October 2019. But before this release, the singer unveiled his first track, Ice Cream, on Friday May 31, 2019.

A sexy title with a more audacious production. Less sweet, more tense than what he had accustomed us to. Mika tells RTL how this song was born. "It was at the end of summer, it was very hot, I kicked myself out and for 10 minutes I wrote a kind of poem about all the heat ailments [...] I wrote this heat delirium, it's less bubblegum and more terrible child and I think for a 35-year-old guy it's pretty much the right direction."

Between the dry and intense rhythms, the legend Prince seems to be taking shape: "There is Prince influence when you think of the pop that makes people dance that he usually provokes, obviously, I fell into this genre and I think it's good," he concedes. "I hadn't written in 2 years, I didn't know what I wanted to express, so obviously I continued with The Voice, it gave me a kind of protection to be able to rediscover myself," he recalls.

Four years after the warm welcome of "No Place in Heaven", Mika will release her new album "My Name Is Michael Holbrook" on October 4th. Why this name?" I started writing two years ago, after a road trip to the United States where I rediscovered a little bit of my family history, on my father's side. For the first time, not on my mother's side. I came home and the first sentences I wrote were: "My name is Michael Holbrook, I was born in 1983", explains the artist on RTL, revealing that his father named him that way at birth... before he was immediately renamed Mika by his mother: "I wrote this album for the young man who for 1h30 was Michael Holbrook Penniman Junior, the same name as my father". On the program of this disc: "dancing songs" of course, like the first naughty single "Ice Cream", but also touching and intimate tracks.

13 concerts in France!

To present the songs from her new album, and her iconic pop hits like "Relax, Take It Easy", "Grace Kelly", "Elle me dit" or "Boum Boum Boum Boum", Mika will go on a world tour with the "Revelation Tour" in the coming months. If it will pass through the United States, Asia and Australia, Europe will not be forgotten, fortunately! In France, the artist has just announced the first 13 dates of his singing tour, which promises to be supercharged and festive. The kick-off of Mika's shows at our home will take place at the Zénith in Pau on 15 November 2019 before the artist comes to thrill audiences in Toulouse, Aix-en-Provence, St-Etienne, Lille, Dijon, Bordeaux, Nantes, Caen and Strasbourg. In Paris, Mika will meet her fans on December 22nd at the AccorHotels Arena. Tickets will be on sale on Friday, June 7 at 10 a.m. Be careful, there won't be enough for everyone!

Let's go to the semi-final of The Voice. This Saturday, June 1st, the Talents of this eighth season will have to give everything to make it to the final. On this occasion, those of Mika's team revealed to Gala what they think of their coach.

The pressure is at its peak. This Saturday, June 1st, TF1 will broadcast the semi-final of this eighth season of The Voice. They are now only two talents per team. But only one of them will reach the much hoped-for final. After making the difficult decision to separate from Albi, Mika chose to eliminate London Loko. Jenifer's accomplice, Soprano and Julien Clerc, is now surrounded by Gjon's Tears and Whitney. During an interview, they told us how they felt about their coach.

Unlike the two newcomers to this jury, Mika is used to this exercise. Andy's companion has been sharing his secrets and advice with his candidates for six years now. But what do these people think about it? Are they satisfied with the one they have chosen as coach? One thing is certain. They are unanimous about it. "He is destabilizing and charismatic," they say in unison.

And Alibi details: "Mika is very demanding. He is both very hard and very kind. London Loko saw her coach's advice as enigmas. "You have to guess what he means. At first glance, you may sometimes feel like it's mean, but the message behind it is really cool. And it's to take you to a perfect performance. You just have to be able to understand what he means," she explains.

While this discreet man is "very picky," Whitney nevertheless feels that he "understands people well. A quality that he seems to share with his fellow coaches. Enough to allow him to give advice adapted to each talent. Thus, thanks to Mika, Whitney tells us that she has gained in self-confidence. This is all the more necessary for her as she suffers from fibromyalgia, a disease that is triggered by stress. And Albi concludes by analysing: "His international career makes it perhaps necessary to be hard to remind us of the hardness of this profession".

Mika announces the new single coming out in the next few days. It's called Ice Cream, the new unpublished song by the artist and will be released this Friday, May 31. Mika also shared a small audio preview of the song directly inside her official social spaces.

Ice Cream marks Mika's long-awaited return to music, even in Italy. Adopted by Italy among the editions of X Factor in which he took part as a judge and those of Tonsera Casa Mika, his program on Rai2, Mika will return to our country for the promotion of a single.

In addition to the appointment at the Music Awards, scheduled for June 4 and 5 at the Arena di Verona, Mika has already been confirmed among the guests of Radio Italia Live - The Concert scheduled in Palermo on June 29. Among the faces of the rich Italian cast, Mika is the only international super guest included in the line up and will present to the Sicilian public the new single Ice Cream (international super guest of the event in Milan is instead Sting, which will be in Piazza Duomo on Monday, May 27).

An imminent return of Mika was in the air, not only because in leaving the post of judge to X Factor had told that he wanted to devote himself to music. The announcement of his promotional activities, in fact, had suggested the release of a new single close to the summer period. The official confirmation arrived only in the last hours with the communication, by the same singer, of the trailer with the title of the piece and its release date.

From Friday, May 31 Ice Cream will be available in radio rotation and digital download and will anticipate the two events in Italy which Mika will take part in June.
