  1. I think you can hear his live singing voice more clearly if you listen with earphones
  2. At least Pausini got to finish the program. How disappointing it would have been for her to miss a chance of a lifetime if she'd gotten ill sooner
  3. What a beautiful final episode! So grateful that we fans can watch these crucial moments behind the scenes. It was heartwarming to see Mika's friends and team cheering his success as a performer and cohost of Eurovision.❤ And we also got an explanation of the "Holland/Poland" mix-up 😃
  4. From New York Times - you have to scroll down a bit https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/05/14/arts/eurovision-final/a-british-lebanese-american-artists-finds-self-at-home-in-europe?smid=url-share
  5. The 850 + reactions to Mika's performance here ( Eurovision Song Contest) are overwhelmingly positive (jjust a few negative at the very end). I also found explanations of what might have been done for the Grand Final. Check out the screenshots.
  6. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/host-mika-impresses-fans-eurovision-7082463?utm_source=linkCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar Glad UK press is noticing was a superb performer Mika is!!🤩
  7. Mika seemed to be more like himself tonight, more natural. I liked the moment when he joked with Cattelan about buying time and also when he commented on the tension building in the performers waiting for the results and then remarking to the singer next to him, "But you don't look all that tense to me!"
  8. Thank you so much, Virgi, for posting the link! I had been looking for the press conference on the Internet and wasn't able to find it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a big smile on my face when it ended. Mika is so articulate and speaks with such confidence; that was something that impressed me even when I watched English interviews done in his first years of fame. When he speaks Italian, he might make an occasional mistake (but I think the Italian fans on this forum will agree his Italian is really good!), however he gives intelligent, well pondered answers to questions (though I don't always agree 😄 ), which is why I think the Italian media love interviewing him. Besides, he's fun and interesting to watch in his role as a judge on shows like X Factor (especially the auditions). Getting back to the press conference, obviously Mika had the advantage of speaking his native language. I thought he was great. Pausini and Cattelan did a good job (and kudos to them for being willing to answer questions off the cuff in a foreign language in front of millions of viewers). I too was impressed by Alessandro’s knowing expressions like “That’s what rehearsals are for” (it’s totally different in Italian) and “You thought you got him!” I hope that during the various shows he has plenty of opportunities to show off his talents. I was glad to see the camaraderie between Mika and the other hosts. I can hardly wait to watch them all on Eurovision!
  9. I live in Italy. Will I be able to watch the show only if I'm on Twitter?
  10. I would check out Ticketmaster as well for seats at Mika's Palazzetto dello Sport gig in Rome. If I interpret the floor plan correctly, some of Ticketmaster 's seats are more central than others offered by Ticketone.
  11. Just wanted to remind fans that there are flights from a lot of European cities to Bari in southern Italy, where 2 of Mika's September concerts will be (and Matera's not far away!).
  12. Ho appena letto che Mika presenterà un medley dei suoi successi alla finale dell'Eurofestival e che lancerà il nuovo singolo! https://www.eurofestivalnews.com/2022/04/27/eurovision-2022-pausini-mika-cattelan/
  13. Hello Sabine! I'm sure I will - there are so many things to check out!
  14. My mom and dad were from southern Indiana!
  15. Thanks for telling me about the Italian thread
  16. I'm not sure if I'm answering in the right place! Anyway, yes, I did watch Coachella (wish it had been longer!) and thanks for the thread you suggested. I've been checking out lots of past videos and had watched "When I see an elephant fly" but not some of the others listed. I've noticed that some non-Italian fans are coming to Rome, Verona and you mentioned Florence too. I wonder if any fans might be interested in coming to Bari. (Matera, where some scenes of the latest James Bond film were shot, is about an hour away.) You can fly direct to Bari from lots of West and East European cities.
  17. Great pics! Below is a short piece from the Italian online press on Mika's performance yesterday. Suggestions to improve the translation are welcome. Valentina Clemente (journalist for Sky Italia) writes about Mika's performance at Coachella Day One ( https://tg24.sky.it/spettacolo/2022/04/16/festival-coachella-2022-oggi ): "PRIMO SHOW: MIKA…E CHE SHOW! Mika si conferma il performer che conosciamo: super. Ha aperto le danze sul main stage, il palco principale, dove dopo di lui si sono esibiti, tra gli altri, Princess Nokia, Ari Lennox, Anitta, Lil Ceasar e Harry Style [. . .] Quindi: bring your sunscream!" My translation: “FIRST SHOW: MIKA...AND WHAT A SHOW! Mika proves himself to be the performer that we know: super. He was the opening act on the main stage where others followed, among whom Princess Nokia, Ari Lennox, Anitta, Lil Ceasar and Harry Styles […] With his “Relax, take it easy” he moves magically on the stage and everyone claps in unison. And when the first notes of “Grace Kelly” are played, the artist makes the crowd go crazy. Despite a minor technical problem with the in-ear – which he shares with the audience saying “I can’t hear anything in my earpiece, but the clock is ticking and I won’t get off this stage!” – Mika goes ahead with his show, entertaining and electrifying everyone. His energy is irrepressible and it is wonderful that even people at Coachella have had the opportunity to appreciate this fabulous artist. And to those who will be present at the festival next weekend: don’t miss him, even if he plays at 3.40 pm, a time of day when, especially in the desert, you should avoid being in the sun. But Mika is worth it. So, bring your sunscream!” Maybe the journalist meant “sun cream/sunscreen.” I also think there is a typo with the name “Lil Ceasar”; it probably should be “Lil Baby” and “Daniel Caesar.”
  18. Hello, my name is Susan. I’m American but I’ve spent most of my life in Italy. I’ve been a member of MFC for only a few months. I became a fan of Mika in 2020 after watching him as a judge on X Factor Italy and checking out videos of his songs and performances (especially Sinfonia Pop) on Youtube. I was so pleased when I found out that he chose Bari as one of the 6 cities for his shows in Italy! Going to see him in September. 😊 I want to thank everyone who has contributed photos, links, translations (from French), info etc to the website. You’ve made it more fun to be a Mika fan!
  19. Yeah, it showed up on Spotify today right after I listened to "Big Girl You Are Beautiful." I wondered what it was.
