Det skulle vara mycket lättare att kommunicera med andra nordboer om finska var mera lika som de andra språk, men du kan inte gör det om du kan inte prata till exempel svenska. Sorry I wrote that I also think it's sad that we can't understand finnish, so you have to use an other language. But I also think that you are lucky because you get to learn a language that are so different from your mother tongue, and that makes you stronger when you learn other languages. Ah, okay, thanks for translating it to me. Yes, I also think that I'm lucky to have learned foreign languages for the very same reason you mentioned. I speak Swedish: I can understand some Norwegian. I speak French: I can understand Spanish. It's very useful indeed. You're not missing out on basically anything though, not being able to understand Finnish.
