Hello, Apples. Congratulations to Sariflor, I'm sorry to hear about your rib Jemma, and belated happy birthday to anyone who celebrated one. I haven't been on much for the last few weeks because I've been busy with uni and for the last week I've had an awful cold (hoarseness, persistent cough, runny nose, headache, muscle pains, the lot) so I haven't been in the mood to do much at all. Kelz told me to drop by, though, so here I am. I'll try to visit more often, but if not there's always Facebook and MySpace (the new one I made). Ciao for now.

Going to be seeing Duffy tonight (got the tickets for Christine's birthday...I know, I know, her birthday was half a month ago, but really can't schedule artists to come exactly when and where you want them. I'm not that big of a fan either, I do like a couple of her songs, but Christine came out to see the Ting Tings with me (even though she wasn't as big fan of them as I). :bleh:

I have tried to get into her music and downloaded her entire album onto my iPod. Sometimes, familiarity leads to liking it. I seem to appreciate the music more when it's live, and it's an excuse to see Christine again.

Fair enough. I find that if I listen to some things long enough they grow on me. Mika was one of those, he really annoyed me at first (I wasn't a camp pop person then) but when I got past that I found that I really like his music.

I actually woke up in the middle of the night, because I couldn't sleep. So I'm gonna try to catch some more ZZZs before someone wakes up and needs mommy. I bought a new book called "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch and so if I still can't sleep, I'll at least try to get some inspiration (from all the hype I hear about it).

I think we'd probably appreciate it a lot more in those Adele style cushy seats with free hors d'oeuvres.

 

Not sure if Duffy's music lends itself to queuing and squashing and standing in a club. Guess we'll see.

Mika didn't annoy me. Grace Kelly became one of my all-time favourite songs instantly. But if I'd never seen him live I would have never listened to the rest of the album. I think his music would have had a limited appeal in and of itself but he has sold himself on personality and his performances.

I am reading a little book about what it was like to live in England at the turn of the first millennium. There is a section in it about how they used to like riddles, so here is one of them.

 

I am a strange creature, for I satisfy women........

I grow very tall, erect in a bed,

I'm hairy underneath. From time to time

Suzy, I looked up The Last Lecture through your link and saw the YouTube video of his "last lecture" that was the inspiration for the book. I haven't watched the whole thing (almost 2 hrs) but it looks great... I'd be interested to hear about the book when you've finished reading it.

i'm going to london on septembre 10th, and staying a few days... not sure of what i'll do the days after :bleh: is she sold out for september 24th too in london ? i'm not going, but i didn't know. she's not sold out in paris yet as far as i know...
