Origami

Recommended Posts

Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding.

By folding just a piece of paper, you can create almost any shape! :wub2:POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!!

There are various types of origami, some of them GORGEUSSSS buy really difficult, but others pretty easy and also beautiful!!

After going to a workshop, I became a bit addicted to this form of art, and I can assure you, it's relaxing, fun and not that difficult! :wink2:

So, here's some stuff I made (not much, I'm only beggining!) These are called Kusudamas (medicine balls).

I made also a little frog and a heart, but meh...not that good! :blush-anim-cl::naughty:

Here are some cool sites, with true masterpieces!

(the first is in portuguese, but I had to post it here, awesome stuff)

Mary!! I love this thread!! *.* I used to make some origamis. When I do them I feel so relaxed.

I didn't know about Kusudamas. Thanks for sharing.

I loved those you made. :D:D

Aww niiiice! :punk:

Thanks! The first one I learned in the workshop, but the second (a lot easier) I found on the web!

There are so many sites with the instructions, and even youtube videos! Pretty cool! :punk:

What stuff do you like to make?

I do simple origamis, like swans, frogs, pigs, chairs, hearts, DNA molecules, etc.

But, I'd really like to try other, like Kusudamas as you said. Go to a workshop seems a really good idea to learn more stuff and be more addict to it. :wub2:

Yeah, it takes some patience to do the biggest pieces, but the little ones are quick, once you learn how to make them! :wink2:

ahh an origami crane:punk: you know that's what Darren Hayes fans made to give to him they all made him origami cranes (his 3rd solo album this delicate things we've made had a origami crane design on it) so I thought that was so cool

also on his time machine tour (which accompanied the album) he had a mechanical version of an origami crane made which was so cool!!!

Little stars are not difficult. I found a tutorial on the web once and it was easy to follow the instructions! I'll see if I can find it to post here! :thumb_yello:
