Kumazzz
⚫ Google translation Reveal hidden contents <<Thank you Swiss, it’s thanks to you that I’m holding on!>> Mika will rock the Geneva Arena on March 28 with his “Apocalypse Calypso” tour. The singer and coach of “The Voice” talks to us about his secret vitamins, the gift his mother left him before she died and his trick for aging well. When she died of brain cancer, she gave me a birthday present by drawing on her iPad. She couldn't really communicate easily anymore and wrote these words: "Happy birthday, may your head always bloom." I thought it was pretty but then I realized it was a provocation. That's to say? It meant: “Be careful, stay creative, don’t be boring. Even if I'm not here you don't have the right to fall asleep or bore me. Come up with new ideas.” It was quite a provocation because this message was written by someone who was losing their brain capacity. It's as if she was saying to me: “My brain is shutting down and I wish you the opposite. As long as you can, do the opposite of what is happening with me.” With “Me, Andy and Paris” you evoke your two loves, Paris and your long-term companion. Is it a complicated menage a trois? It's not just Paris, it's the public aspect of our relationship that can be complicated. We've been together for 19 years so we've grown up together a bit in this world where we have to find the right balance between the need to protect ourselves and at the same time not isolate ourselves in order to still have fun. I'm not the only one in this situation. I find it interesting to talk about it. To make a relationship last, is it okay to argue from time to time? Oh yes, you have to argue, often. But with respect, never with violence, because words generate frustration and it is frustration and hatred that provoke violence. And violence is the end of everything. We cannot turn back after violence. You're 40 but don't look your age. How do we avoid this shipwreck of old age that you evoke in “C’est la vie”? By giving yourself the opportunity to grow old. You have to have great references, great enfant terribles. It's not the aesthetic aspect that will keep you young. When I look at someone like Mick Jagger (editor's note: 80 years old), well, his face is marked. But when he's on stage, we forget his age. That's the secret. Every morning he reads his newspaper for two hours. In the evening, he feels light-hearted and lets loose, as if he were 15 years old. You were born in Beirut, grew up between Paris and London. Where do you feel most at home? I grew up adopting the codes of northern Europe while being programmed, in a sense, with a very Mediterranean side. And it is this mixture that allows me to navigate between different cultures. At the beginning, we were more tolerant of the way I mixed my Anglo-Saxon side and the other, warmer side. I was less of an alien, an anomaly. But in England this was not always the case. Of course, this has changed over time. This is a cultural, geographical and, in fact, complicated question that you are asking me. I would say that I consider this amalgamation of cultural temperaments a privilege. How do you relax on tour? I travel by car. From time to time I bring one of my dogs. Not the old one because she can't do it anymore, she's already done four tours. After the show, I drive for about an hour at night, in silence. Then I sleep, wake up and work in silence. And then I'm going to give my next concert. Sorry I can't read page 18. Could anyone please upload the page 18, if you have the magazine ? Thanks. INSTAGRAM https://www.instagram.com/p/C4zv7vio-vl/ X Mel is getting old... ( she was born in 2010 ) can't travel with Mika anymore. QueenBigFat
Oh, God, that’s about the same age as my Blakey. Mika is actually lucky with his girls—Goldens are so inbred that they have huge medical risks and frequently die young. We have a mixed breed so feel a little safer but… OTOH, as I recently read, it’s never long enough.
