A rainy but happy evening in Paris yesterday with very talented friends at the @maisonvalentino show and @vogueparis. Traffic was so bad we ditched the car but honestly Paris is better by foot… even in the rain. #christianlouboutin #marisaberenson #valentinorendezvous #alexandredesplat #solrey @marisaberensonofficial 📸 @danilodauriafoto

Tutti rigorosamente in Valentino.

Inside Christian Louboutin's Paris Fashion Week Soirée

For his Spring/Summer 2022 collection, the famous footwear designer immersed his guests in a stunning digital art exhibition

Last night, legendary French footwear designer Christian Louboutin presented his Spring/Summer 2022 women’s collection with Loubillusions, a 360° immersive experience and event. The presentation during the day was then followed by a celebratory cocktail party in the same space later that evening and was attended by some of the industry’s most noteworthy figures.

Like many designers, for the past few seasons, Louboutin has utilized digital formats such as Augmented Reality, 3D, and the gaming platform Zepeto to showcase his collections. This season, Louboutin returned to in-person showing with pomp and grandeur, selecting the L’Atelier des Lumières to debut his latest collection. The space, which features over 3,000 square meters dedicated to showcasing digital art exhibitions, witnessed a rotating series of original animations, which immersed guests in settings that touch on seven of his key points of inspiration, from a Japanese Zen garden, to magnificent golden waterfalls, to fresh summer water.

Loubillusions marked the debut of “Our Angels,” which is a genderless capsule collection of combat, stacked, and platform heeled boots ranging sizes from 36 to 46 as well as intricately embellished crossbody bags. Louboutin also used the show to introduce his latest handbag, dubbed the Carasky, which was inspired by his passion for gems and crowns.

The guest list for the event was impressive and featured an array of attendees from all sectors of the fashion world. British singer Mika, actress Julia Fox, entrepreneur Olivia Palermo, and drag queen Miss Fame were just a few of the most notable figures on the carpet last evening and all dressed accordingly in some of the designer’s tallest and coolest shoes.

Despite being able to have an in-person event this year, Louboutin also insisted on maintaining a virtual experience as well for everyone to enjoy, anywhere in the world. Specifically, he published a Loubillusions “webzine” featuring the different animations mixed with collages and close ups of this season’s designs. Additionally, key styles from the collection will be can be experienced in Augmented Reality, allowing for a hyper-real look at the design details and fabrics.

Considering the previously all-virtual showcases of the past year and a half, Louboutin’s mixed digital and physical soirée during Paris Fashion Week marked a remarkable and grand return to normalcy in the fashion world. Aside from being visually enticing, it represented a lively welcome back to Paris Fashion Week and in-person shows all over the world once again.

Khaleej Times - City Times

VALENTINO GOES STREET-MUSING

Mika and Christian Louboutin Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz Vanessa Kirby

In the heart of Paris’ most fashionable and streetwise district Le Marais, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli let his hair down. It made for a vibrant and varied collection entitled ‘Rendez Vous.’ For spring, his aim was to show fashion as it should be - worn on the street. And that he did literally. There were gleaming gold sequins, eye-popping colour, baggy jeans and sheeny Juliette sleeves that smacked of the 80s. This season, the Italian designer moved in a welcome disco-infused direction. Yet, the designs remained finessed despite the street-musing. “(This is) street not meant as streetwear but conceived... as real life,” clarified the house of Piccioli’s intentions.

When the show ended, like true Parisians, guests were handed bouquets of local flowers sourced from real flower sellers in the Ile-de-france region, while the models strutted around the city streets to thunderous cheers. AP
