yes marhaba means hi , it's not strictly arabic as it is a turkish word but we use it , or we simply say hi or bonjour or ciao in lebanese :wink2: arabic is a very difficult language.

No :naughty: magari is not used in english but i like mixing different languages together :aah:

Hello, I have zero Lebanese or even Arabic roots. But I just graduated from my Levant language studies, so I thought why not see if I could practice a bit on this thread.

اهلين, ما عندي اسرة من الشرق الاوسط. بس خرجت من دراسي باللهجة لبنانية و سورية و اردنية, و فكرت ممكن بقدر ممرس هون. ^_^

Hello Shay , too bad I don't have an arabic keyboard otherwise I would have answered you in litteral arabic. I'll try to answer you in the arabic internet language ( in latin letters lol ). If I was to correct your arabic , I would have said : ahlen , ma 3andi ousra men al sharq al awsat , bas 5allaset dirasti li allahja alloubnania wal souria wal urdunia , w fakart moumken etmarran hon.

You're nearly there anyway ! How long have you been studying arabic ? it looks like you're already pretty fluent , congratulations ! :thumb_yello:

 wow, I was thinking that no one was ever going to respond on this thread. Shukran. :biggrin2: kind of suck at arabic in latin letters but the 5 is equivalent to the خ? Is that right?

oh and shukran ktir for the new word! :aah: etmarran is another word to practice. sweet. how would you write حلو in latin letters if you don't mind my asking?

And before I forget, your question. I took an intensive 64 week course in the language, so around a year and a half I've been studying it :blush-anim-cl: glad to know I'm not horrible. The way my teachers talked, always felt kind of retarded compared to my classmates who are like language sponges.
