  1. Hi Rose:thumb_yello:. I bought through Sandbag (I think!) -I really should be more organised and keep emails. I am sooooo looking forward to a Bristol gig at last. It must be weird for you, after following him to so many far flung corners to have a gig on your doorstep at last.
  2. Thank you Freddie:wub2: and Silver:wub2:, love you both! I can sleep well tonight then (I only remebered last night that I hadn't got them and went into panic mode at about 5.30am and couldn't get back to sleep!) Relief!
  3. Has anyone/everyone else received their tickets? I've had my Dublin ones for ages, but no Bristol ones yet. I'm trying not to panic!
  4. I miss you!!!!

  5. My Mika virginity was lost on the same night as yours! I have no idea what I was wearing, but I was accompanied by an embarassed husband.
  6. I'm drinking vodka so that I can get to sleep tonight with my really annoying cough and cold!
  7. This is a great thread that we should have thought of ages ago. -thanks MikaFish:thumb_yello: I think that even if Mika didn't champion Big Girls it would be a pretty poor range of sizes. As it is, it's very disappointing. I have a T-shirt in Large that is a pretty snug fit and anyone who has met me will know that I'm actually quite skinny! The time has come for some bigger sizes please Mika!
  8. Ring the venue and check. It said over 18s only for Birmingham in 2007 so I rang the venue to check. They said it was ok and I took my 7 year old daughter. I would ignore what it says on the ticket and the agency website, the only opinion that counts is the venue, because they'll be the one with the final say on the night when you get to the door! Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine.
  9. There's something about that song, though. I hated it the first time I heard it and then it grew on me (against my will!). Now I love it, but at the moment it's Touches You that I'm loving the most.
  10. I'm standing too. Mr Mika Mad is slightly peeved, but he'll just have to live with it!
  11. To anyone who's thinking of taking a young child: I found that it was perfectly safe to be right in the front row against the barrier with my daughter because I stood directly behind her, stopping her from getting crushed by the crowd. It was nice for me too because I had a pretty good view over her head!
  12. :doh:I'm such an idiot. I've just realised that I've been there before (to see Hawkwind) and it was a great venue.
  13. Thank you, Naectegale. My daughter was extremely cold and tired by then, but it was a magical moment that we will treasure forever.
  14. Hi Pookiedoodle. The Mika gigs at the Carling Academy in '07 were supposed to be 14+, so I didn't take my daughter in the May. I ended up standing next to a very small 8 year old in the queue and she was let in, so in the Nov of that year I took my daughter. I rang the venue and they said that it was ok if she was with me, but that she wouldn't be allowed in the standing area. We got right to the front of the stage and I stood her in front of me. Nobody said anything or made us move. I think that the answer is that you really do have to speak to the venue.
  15. Please excuse me for posting this, but I'm so proud of it!
  16. Thank you for remembering our photo Mariposa and Violet Sky! It is my all-time favourite photo of Mika, for obvious reasons. When I picked my daughter up from school this afternoon I told her that I'd got tickets for February and that the venue allows children. She was really excited and asked if she would get a cuddle from Mika again. I had to tell her not to raise her hopes because she was very lucky last time. Note to "dad", the original poster, please check with your venue that they allow kids, it would be heartbreaking for your daughter if she wasn't let in on the night.
  17. I took my daughter to see Mika when she was 7 and it was fine. She said at the time that it was the best night of her life, so I don't regret it at all. She has spent the past two years waiting for another opportunity and today I booked tickets to take her to Bristol (she's 9 now). There's an awful lot worse to see on television before 9pm than you'll see at a Mika gig. Take her -she'll love it!
  18. I might have a job persuading Mr Mika Mad to do that, he's coming to the gig with me!
  19. Half term:shocked: I never even thought about that! Extra grovelling to grandparents required. I'm off to check my dates...........
  20. bronze hair........that's a new one on me! better to be "golden":naughty:
  21. Thanks for the offer, that's very kind of you, but I'm trying to work out a way of going to Newcastle and that's the night before, so Birmingham isn't really an option for me. Please don't let me put you off going. I had a great time both times. When it comes down to it the venue doesn't matter when it's got Mika in it. I'd happily turn up at public toilets in a train station to see him!
  22. Bristol and Dublin are my only certs. Glasgow and Newcastle are maybes.
