  1. Well, it is not only the Hungarian fans but all the other Eastern Europeans who were planning to come.... I did not buy the ticket as the date was never announced officially and I hope that no one has bought them yet. You cannot replace Mika with Razorlight... Anyway, I think I should now buy tickets for some other shows.. Somerset House must be sold out already but do you think I can get tickets outside the venue from ticket touts? (I prefer that one to going to muddy Glastonbury...)
  2. Yes, that's what I mean. It is not about the music... Based on this article, how are you supposed to guess what kind of music he is playing? The only conclusion the reader can draw is that there is a new "weird" artist on the music scene (she puts it nicely because she is sooo understanding) and thanks to R. Wainwright he is not hissed off the stage for being who he is.
  3. Well, maybe...although he was never announced for the 9th, I only saw it here. The 2 previous days he is supposed to be in Ibiza, so one of those days can actually be swapped to Hungary.
  4. WHAT? I hate this article. You cannot base a music review on the alleged s***** preferences of the artist. She should have been writing about the music and not pretend to be a gay rights activist. Also, saying that it was Rufus Wainwright who paved the way for Mika is such a STUPID thing to say. I don't think she is familiar with the history of popular music at all.
  5. I would personally prefer Annie Lennox. Most things Madonna in involved in does not ring true to me....
  6. I have just checked the official webpage of Sziget Festival and found that his name has been removed from the list of performers. (Previously his name was listed on among the main stage acts and it was the only one without a date). Has anyone heard anything about it?
  7. Finally a statement from Mika if we can believe that... I think it came too late though: links to these songs even appeared on MIKASOUNDS, which is his official site, isn't it? As soon as I saw them I asked Moderator to remove the links but I guess he/she misunderstood that and just placed the thread into another section.... That's so stupid... Do you know who is running MIKASOUNDS, by the way? Is it his record label? It looks like so, because no one seems to care over there...

  9. ...unless Madonna would simply use him to sell her new album. Her duet with Prince (Love Song), for example, was not even released as a single. And if she is duetting with Justin, she might not release the Mika duet. On those conditions I don't think Mika should commit himself. I am sure soon there will be many more major artists queueing up to work with him.
  10. I found this on QUEENONLINE ( it was actually the first time I visited the site) "News section , May 2nd: about the June edition of Q magazine ( with Oasis on cover) Page 72 - 'Ta-Dah!' - Mika Feature 'The 400,000 people who have bought Life In Cartoon Motion clearly do (love him), as does Queen guitarist Brian May, of all people, whose website is full of Mika-related praise ("I like brave innovators," wrote May)' The Mika Pie Chart 15% - Love Him / Hate Him Factor 5% - Growing Up In A Warzone 30% - Sexual Ambiguity 10% - Theatricality 20% - Precociousness 20% - Freddie Mercury There is also a picture of BM and Mika. " ...has any of you seen it?
  11. I can't do it - I cannot even see the links... Can anyone tell me which direction I should look for - left - right - top- bommom...etc....???

    Hi!

Hello Lyrics, I used to collect you ... I mean Lyrics when I was young sorry for the silly joke:wink2: Welcome!
  13. There is one Lebanese restaurant in Baker Street that has been there for decades, I guess. I remember I always wanted to go out to dinner there because it looks ( or used to look) kind of posh, but never made it. (I actually tried Lebanese food first in Cyprus and I loved it). I checked it on the net: it is called Al Fawar and it is located at 50 Baker Street. Easy to find. Anyway, when I was checking on the net I found one in Bloomsbury, called Saffron and it is on Sicilian Avenue.
  14. Bloomsbury... Closest sight is the British Museum. Fun if you like mummies or ancient sculptures..etc. But...If you would like to see the sights I suggest you take the underground, get off in central London and WALK: e.g.: get off at Hyde Park Corner and walk to Buckingham Palace ( watch the change of the guards) - St James's Park - Westmister Abbey, the Houses of Parliament...then, if it is daylight and you have time to queue for hours, cross over the bridge and get on the London Eye ( it is actually worth the wait), but if you prefer to explore more, just walk up the Road called Whitehall from the Houses of Parliament and you will soon reach Trafalgar Square with pigeons and the National Gallery..etc. (esp. if you like paintings) then you might walk to Piccadilly Circus ( kind of Times Square) and from there you can either choose to go to SOHO for some entertainment (eg. visit Covent Garden i.e.The Royal Opera House that young Mika used to frequent) or walk down Regent Street towards Oxford Circus and then Oxford Street if you fancy a bit of shopping. Greetings from an ex-Londoner and frequent visitor
  15. Hello Neighbours, Sorry to interrupt your conversation I don't understand a sigle word of, but I had a quick search on 'Sziget' on this site and it dropped out your thread. So....I just wanted to let you know that if you are planning to come, there will surely be a local guide (e.g. me or the other Hungarians - I counted 3 so far) to help you if you have any questions or need any arrangements. Although the day on which he is playing is still not officially announced but consideing his August schedule, it can only be 9th, as Sivan wrote. I plan to update the Sziget thread in June - I guess travel and ticket arrangements are perfectly enough to be made by early July. Day tickets cost 7000 HUF (28EUR) until 15th July and are unlikely to be sold out before August.
  16. I'd say it's rather sarcastic. ..and completely stupid to compare his rendition of I Want You Back to that of the Jackson 5. Michael Jackson was around 7 when he sang that.
  17. Agree with every word and like your new signiture. (One of my favourite songs)
  18. I think it should be Lollipop, as it would be a great "end of the show anthem" at summer festivals. Also, they wanted fans to participate...so, - for Big Girls they would have wanted "large" fans - for My Interpretation or Stuck in the Middle, they would not need to recruit an audience:cool:
  19. NO!!!! unless they are from Hello Magazine..... I was rather upset yesterday when I saw that thread on the boy who might be related to him... Not the photo itself but some parts of the discussion. The other photos were simply "Googled", I guess, but I would still never open threads like that. I prefer discussions on music.
  20. You are right. I suggest we stop this thread and use the ones started previously, otherwise we can't keep track of all the posts on this topic.
  21. I think it's his full name - I saw him referred to as Michael Holbrook Penniman on VH1's album chart.
  22. Mika actually mentioned in an interview he loved Annie Lennox and wanted to work with her.
  23. I think we all know the news is not true, but it is a nice thread - it makes people share their thougths and reveal their taste
  24. I think most people are familiar with the story in every coutnry around the world. It had a wide media coverage even in Eastern Europe it is just that most people didn't remember her name, only the story. ( I only remembered as I often watch SkyNews). In my opinion, you should not be 'politically correct' with people who are so aggressive you don't have any other weapons against them but your words. (I only feel sorry for her kids.)
