  1. I had a Mikasy (Mika fantasy) whilst driving home from school today that Mika would be sitting on the hood of his car, waiting for help, because it broke down. So, I would obviously help him...get my Mika-hug... And then I saw a cat run across the street and I had to slam on my breaks, which, in turn, ruined my highly unrealistic Mika day dream.
  2. Oh gosh! Really!??!?!?!?!!?!?!?! tell the WHOLE STORY...I need to live vicariously through you!
  3. great interview! thanks so much for sharing it!! i hope mika will still be allowed to fly british airways after his (adorable) comments.
  4. Ughh! Why do my parents insist on having Visa cards???
  5. ...So, if we use an American Express card, we can get tickets early? I don't understand this pre-sale thing!
  6. You know you're obsessed when... Instead of doing the 3 hours of homework due tomorrow, you decide to sacrifice sleep and read every post on the MFC forums before even glancing at your piles of work.
  7. Yay! So excited to get my hands on a MFC pin!! Thanks for splitting the order w/ me, lovetoday!!!
  8. Yay!!! Now we can show off our MFC status to the world!!!!! :biggrin2:
  9. Well...I'm 17 also...and so is the little group of people I'm going with so you'd fit right in! But, seeing as my mother would never allow me to go to a concert without a friend (and assuming that your mother is like-minded)...Omgosh! Good luck finding someone to come! I know you will! You HAVE to!! There must be a Mika fan in your school. Play Mika nonstop and get all your friends addicted so they BEG to come with you!
  10. Okay, this isn't that exciting...but there was a short article about Mika in Newsday, which is one of the more popular papers in New York, especially on Long Island. I'm pretty sure it's one of the top 20 papers in the country. So, here's the article. It had a nice picture with it, but it's not on the website so I can't post it now. I'll try to scan it later! Is Simon the subject of a coup de 'Grace'? According to fametastic.co.uk, British pop sensation Mika says in Attitude magazine that his debut single, "Grace Kelly," whose lyrics include, "Why don't you like me, why don't you like me without making me try?" was written about music mogul Simon Cowell. The 24-year-old, London-based singer struggled to get a record deal until he was signed in a collaboration between Universal Motown and Island. "Grace Kelly" reached No. 1 on the U.K. Singles Chart two weeks after its Jan. 8 release. Mika says he might have been "knocked back" by Cowell, but that he also didn't much want to work with the "Idol" judge, either. "I had a meeting with Simon a few years back. He said my songs weren't very good and I wasn't a songwriter. Then I spotted a gold disc for the Teletubbies single to the left of him and thought, 'This is possibly not the man for me.'" Cowell, on being questioned about the meeting with Mika, says, "Do you know what, I don't even remember meeting him."
  11. Come with us! They'll be many MFC-ers there, you won't be lonely!
  12. I met Mika with thatpinksock at the CD signing in NY. It was so amazing that I can't even think about it without getting butterflies in my stomach and swooning uncontrollably. Too bad we couldn't get a Mika-hug! But, I plan on stalking him (in a non-creepy, non-threatening way, of course) on June 15th to get my hug---I'm determined!!
  13. haha! thanks for trying! It's sooo exciting that you're transferring to NYU! Are you starting next fall in NY or at your old school (sorry, was it U Delaware? Or am I getting something confused?)?
  14. Did LICM get 3 1/2 stars out of 4 or 5 stars? I mean, Mika obviously deserves the highest rating possible. But I'm curious to see what the magazines scale is.
  15. Apparently DC "seems" further to my parents. Go figure.
  16. It's more like 4 hours, or more depending on the traffic. I would've went because my brother goes to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, so it would've been really easy to take a short train ride from Maryland to DC...but unfortunately (well, it is fortunate because I get to see him more...)he has decided to come home for the summer! So now it won't work at all, as my parents would never let me drive to DC (I've only had my driver's license for a week).
  17. We're going to New York! Have no fear! We're just missing out on Boston
  18. To clarify, what lovetoday is ambiguously referring to is our experience last time Mika came to NY @ the Grammercy, where we stupidly waited for our friends to commit to coming, and ended up not getting tickets. So, we had to bid on tickets on ebay and pay over double the price. It was beyond worth our money and efforts, of course.
  19. Whenever I get too excited, I get extremely nervous that we won't be able to get tickets because they'll sell out. Oy vey, my stomach is in knots!
  20. I KNOW!!! jfsjeuieff We're all taking the train home, I think. So make sure that's cool with your parents before I buy the tickets.
  21. Ahh, shut up Jen! (it's okay, i'm not telling a stranger to be quiet...Jen and I are friends!) Regents aren't that bad...they're just like state-wide finals. Not a big deal unless you make them into one. The only reason they suck is because they conflict with seeing Mika again, which we'll do anyway. So shh! Stop complaining!
  22. Ohh man, you guys (ie everyone going to more than one Mika gig in June) are soo lucky! I wish I was older than 17 and had a cheap way of getting to Boston or DC. Thank god I live in NY....or else I would run away to be with Mika!! I e-mailed the Nokia Theatre just to make sure everything is perfect, and it is! Tickets go on sale at 12 noon, and there's a 16+ age limit unless accompanied by an adult. Yay! Who is ridiculously excited????
  23. I voted multiple times. And, for added fun, I voted for Love Today as the "wildcard."
