  1. If Mika's feeling are hurt because I'm being silly, well... I would be sad, but also surprised 'cause I'd think he was more thick-skinned than that. Especially since being bored by blogs hardly seems like a huge thing to me. I love my cousin for instance, and she's one of my favorite people ever, but she also blogs a lot and I tell her all the time that I can't be bothered to read her blogs. She likewise tells me she couldn't care less about some of the things I write about! We get along super. And anyway, I have expressed my admiration for Mika on various fronts more than repeatedly. I just like to have a bit of fun and commotion with my threads. --Jack
  2. Yeah, I was worried it may come out like that... But I don't care if he uses he tea set or not, that was just included for fun. I just think a vblog about tea-making could be fun. Although I like the idea of reading and responding to MFC comments as well. So if he does either I'll do my happy-Mika thread. --Jack
  3. Well if he does a tea blog, you'll find out, won't you? I'll start an entire thread on it. Btw, "if you don't like, don't read" isn't so simple--my problem is that I feel like I have to read them soon as they go up, because that's all the rest of MFC is talking about, and if I don't, I'll be left out. So really I should be whining at MFC: "stop talking about the bloody blogs so I don't have to keep up with them!" --Jack
  4. Poof, babs. It's my thread and you if anyone certainly have a place at the table here. See? --Jack
  5. Well of course it is completely preposterous of me to act like I have any authority in telling him what to blog about, or to complain about something everyone's been begging him to do for ages! It is absolutely ridiculous! That was really part of the joke. Not that I didn't mean what I said, but I absolutely recognize the intense sillyness of it, and that was what I was sharing with y'all. --Jack
  6. I want him to show us in detail just how he makes his tea! After going on for ages about how picky he is about the process, and how picky he is about his tea, I think it could be fun to see it shown step-by-step. A Tour of Tea. --Jack
  7. By the way, as you can tell by the last sentence of my original post, I totally wasn't starting this thread to get people to talk trash about Mika's blogs. I honestly thought I'd be the only one, and I thought it was rather funny of me to feel this way considering I am someone who's a professed Mika fan. So I thought I'd entertain people with my weirdness. But apparently I am not so weird... Anyway, far as I'm concerned, this thread is now about getting Mika to tea-blog!! And as I said, if he does, I will post a super-positive thread. --Jack
  8. Yep! But you're completely welcome to love all his blogs! That's very nice of you. I can't believe 3 people voted against the tea blog idea though. How could anyone? How can you go on a Mika forum and not get giddy at the idea of a tea blog? Mika, I hope you ignore those three and look at all the other numbers! Seriously, I've already started drafting my "complimentary-Mika-thread" and I don't want all those warm fuzzy sentiments to go to waste! I promise not one of my complimentary observations will have to do with you being sooooo hot or anything like that. Tea blog, plz plz plz. --Jack
  9. I like them... in moderation. And when accompanied by insightful commentary. --Jack
  10. Oh, I am! I'm not "over Mika" but I'm over the blog. I just hate having the pressure to keep up with it! I mean, I know no one is forcing me to read it, but if I don't, I'll feel out-of-the-loop here... but I don't have time to always check it so I prefer it when he posts less rather than more. I mean, that's my cheese and whine, he isn't obligated to make me happy and can post when he likes, but I'd like it if it were once a week, more or less. Funny thing is, I really did think that I'd be the only one to feel this way. (I quite liked the "Thank you" post though. Because that one had something relevant to say.) I'm also entirely serious about wanting the tea show-and-tell videoblog. And about the fact that I'll post a nice complimentary thread if he obliges. --Jack
  11. Hahaha, that's adorable. See Mika, the people have spoken: they want to see you tea-blogging!! (Not to be confused with tea-b--ging, which is something different altogether and let's pretend I never mentioned it.) --Jack
  12. Actually I'm more serious than you'd think! Although of course I want to entertain as well. Leading the way by example, I consider the interests of my audience. --Jack
  13. Yeah, and I like it when he does it sometimes, but other times it's so bloody boooooring! I am all "why are you bothering me with this? Why should I caaaaare?" I am mean. But everyone loves tea! Actually, I don't really do it, but I have friends who DO go dumpster-diving a lot, and I think that's awesome. I want to do it myself, but I want a buddy to go with me. Did you know that supermarkets throw out perfectly edible unsold vegetables, bread, etc, at the end of each day? They wrap them in plastic too, so they're quite sanitary. Stores throw out lots of reusable things, and it's such a waste! Some people manage to live almost entirely on what they scavenge from dumpsters. I quite admire that. --Jack
  14. Aw, bless, no! I was just kidding, because, how ungainly of a present is a single teacup, really? I wouldn't know what to do with one! I have no idea what he did with it. Although I doubt he could ever find it again. --Jack
  15. I'll even give him a pass on using my teacup. I know he threw it in the dumpsters on his way out the venue. But a tea-blog would make quite a good present for my upcoming birthday. Come on, share the birthday love, Mika! --Jack
  16. I have now added a poll! Let us show him the voice of the peoples. --Jack
  17. Hahah no. I like having it under this title. If anything, he'd be more likely to look. --Jack
  18. Haha. Well. Um. I tried to keep it both within the bounds of realism and also within the bounds of privacy. I will say that in some cases I specifically avoided writing what I really thought his history may have been (or wrote the opposite of what my guess would be) for fear of accidentally hitting too close to home. --Jack
  19. We must get more people into this thread to pledge support for the tea-time show-and-tell idea. --Jack
  20. He could even use his birthday tea-set! Come on Mika! 2 whole votes! You can't ignore those numbers!! --Jack
  21. I'm gonna have to start a nice-to-Mika thread next. I don't want all my Mika-themed threads to be negative. Maybe something about enjoying his hair lately. That would be lovely and polite. Oh, although y'know what would be a fun videoblog that I'd enjoy? One where he does a show-and-tell of just how he likes to make/drink his tea. And then holds a tea party. Mika, if you do that, I will make a thread about how good you are at responding to fanbase desires! --Jack
  22. ...I really kind of want him to go away. Well. Actually I've been listening to his music more lately. I haven't played LiCM in a while, and a few days ago I took it out of my CD pile and put it back in my car player, so I've been listening to it every day (I commute). It's good, and I like being able to listen to it again with fresh ears and find that I still love it. So, I'm not saying I'm tired of his music or anything. But this blog thing, I just want him to shut up. Not entirely, but I find myself cringing when I see new posts on the blog thread, thinking, "oh geez, did he post another one already? I hope not." I go to Mikasounds, wait for it to load... and am filled with relief when I see that there's no new blog. I like to have a little space! I want to discuss Mika-related stuff without his constant meddling and interruption. I can't handle having to keep up with his minutiae every day. I think a blog a week would be good, let us breathe a little!! Also, I think he could benefit by being a little more selective about what he posts. He could at least try to be a little entertaining, to consider whether what he's writing will actually interest his audience. The videoblogs tend to accomplish this more than the text ones. I like the text ones a lot when they're done well, but not when it seems like they're there for the sake of filling up space, or because he had some random thought flitting through his mind for a second and happened to be near a laptop. For Pete's sake, Mika, I don't care that you got a comic book or a new toy unless you tell me something interesting enough about it to make me care. Anyone with me? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? ...I thought not. --Jack
  23. Oh god, the break has been so nice. Don't bug him, let him stay away for another week. I've begun to think that a little Mika goes a long way. --Jack
  24. For you to start up a branch of the "official fanclub," there first of all has to be an official fanclub. Which is... us. Except not really, because even though we're now officially "owned" by Mika, nothing else has been done yet. Mika and management haven't yet been able to get themselves organized enough to get anything off the ground. So while you may be able to get Mika fans together in your city, good luck getting any free stuff. Mika keeps saying he's working on making us into an actual fanclub, but even if he gets his people working on it right away tomorrow, I'd say we have to wait several months before we see anything realized. Btw, the "free stuff" isn't entirely free. Artists do send free merchandise to fanclubs, but that's in return for running promotions and stirring up publicity. Otherwise, stuff is paid for by membership dues. I mentioned starting up a "branch" of an existing official fanclub as opposed to being the president of the entire thing because I doubt you want to actually be the president of the official Mika Fan Club. First off, you likely can't, unless you intend to somehow take over MFC. But also, it is pretty much a lot of work. Here are some basic guidelines if you're curious though: http://www.ehow.com/how_3348_start-fan-club.html http://members.aol.com/lknafc/nafc/startfc.htm I don't know how old you are but I don't think you want to bother with setting up a separate bank account and contacting the IRS about the fanclub tax status and so forth. --Jack
