  1. Same for me. My mother tongue is French. When I need to translate English to French, I have to really think hard about it, because when you read or listen, you get the context of what is said, the whole meaning, but you do not translate in your mind word word by word what you've just been told/read. You just don't think twice . When I speak English I do not think in French first, it just comes (within my range of vocabulary, that is. I use English every single day at work as my bosses do not speak French). But some days when I'm tired, or if I have not used a word for a long time, I will just forget it (which is why it's important to maintain a language learned by reading, speaking etc). Mika has a fluent level of French, his accent is very light (actually to me he's talking like he's nearly always lived in France), he speaks fast, you can see he's at ease with the language. Just he must have not learned/forgotten some words as he does not talk it 24/7... Add to it if he's tired, the words won't come back as easily as usual... And regarding the mix-up of two languages, I'm the QUEEN! People can get bothered at me because I will mix so much English/French, but I can't help it, some words in French just don't come back to me, English has replaced them! Sometimes I wonder: what would I do at a job interview, that would not give a good impression.... .
  2. Well actually I won't have to travel that much as most of gigs are in the same place: 3 gigs in Paris where I live (1 already done) 1 gig in Nantes (two hours by fast train - called TGV - from Paris ; driving would take 4,5 hours) 3 gigs in London (2,30 hours from Paris thanks to the Eurostar, and as they are on three consecutive days I have to travel only once! Thanks Mika for making it so convenient !)
  3. Avoca you're so sweet ! Seems that it is a mistake, my guess is that they wanted to add the new date October 24th today and got it wrong. I searched about a surprise gig today and found nothing! For info, the gig on October 24th was sold out within 1h30... Thanks God I did not wait to order so I'M GOING YOUHOU!!!!
  4. Oh God I LOVE LOVE LOVE garlic bread! You don't have this in France (unless you do it yourself which I never think of!). When I used to live in London, everytime I went to Pizza express I would order garlic bread with cheese! Mmhhhh
  5. Actually I have to admit (don't hit me !) I don't like the cover... I'm not a techno girl at all.... Saucisson is this kind of dry sausage from porc, it's very very good (and very fatty of course....). We have plenty of kinds of chocolate too (thanks to the Swiss and Germans next to us who are as crazy about chocolate as we are! I could bring some different ones for you to try....
  6. They might have gone too dry when I get here... Plus they'd be all crushed from the trip . Cheese, wine, paté, saucisson?
  7. My dear future flatmates , I'm sure you like food and stuff, so WHAT SHALL I BRING FROM PARIS ?
  8. Don't like it... I far prefer the original version - which I'm going to listen live on Police concert in Paris this Saturday yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :mf_lustslow:
  9. I put on the latest show but it only start 1 hour ahead (I guess right after Mika....) Edit: Nope I got it it's at 1:55! Thanks Caz!
  10. Hi Jemma, I imagine how you must want to escape from this situation, you are very brave it must be hard to face this. Did you consider trying to share a flat or house if there is an affordable area around you? When I lived in London I had a little income (working room service in a hotel) and the flatmate thing was ok.
  11. You know what, given how it went, I would not be surprised if they added a third one... Especially that now with the success he has in France + the fact that he has a special bound with our country, we can hope we have a special place in his heart... Thanks Gosh I bought the tickets at 10:10am on fnac.com (I bought 5 at a time for friends who are coming with me too), at the beginning I was thinking of just going to the Fnac tonight to buy them easy peasy... It's good I changed my mind!
  12. My God this is crazy... Actually I expected this concert to take longer than 2 days to sell out, with all those dates he has in France already... Maybe a third date to come :naughty: ?
  13. They say it is temporarily unavailable on the Fnac site... Maybe it's not sold out, just the first tickets release is... They must have kept some more releases for later.
  14. No seriously you're kidding? It's unbelievable !
  15. Oh yeah Avoca I'm so happy to see you again there (PS: now everytime I see Matt Damon I think of you !) !
  16. Yeah it's gonna be so much fun being roommates Sivan! Can't wait to meet you as well as all the other MFCs!
  17. Yes yes yes Pamette you will be awesome as French rep!
  18. Hi everybody! Good Sivan so you made it safe to Israel! In 3 weeks it will be Mika's concert in Paris yeah!!! Can't wait to be in London with you guys though, so many together it's got to be great!
  19. I fully understand you . That's how I function (unfortunately I must say )
  20. It's typical Bexx. In French, we say "fuis-moi, je te suis ; suis-moi, je te fuis" meaning: avoid me, I chase you ; chase me, I avoid you You're after him because he's not fully available to you. If he was, you'd lose interest. Unless I'm wrong in my analysis?
  21. Yeah, the day we will understand each other life will be so easy-boring
